Extra charge for bed linen

Location Shower

Host wanted to charge extra for the use of the sofa bed & bed linen! Explained you have to let him know, when you book, that you want to use the sofa bed & that he usually charges extra for this! Bed linen was old, worn & stained! Main bed was practically a mattress on the floor & not comfortable! Mattresses were stained & dirty, with hairs on them!Two bath towels provided, also old & worn. One hand towel, which was stained! Toiletries provided were scant & random & looked like what other people had left behind! Bedroom door didn’t close properly. You have to go through the bedroom to get to the bathroom, yet again the sliding door, on the bathroom, didn’t close properly due to not on straight. No wardrobe, hangers or hanging space. Dining chairs wobbly & about to fall apart. No shade on skylight windows or other window in living area. Gets very warm. Ceiling slopes in areas especially access to kitchen, bedroom & bathroom & has a big step up! Only travel kettle provided. No smoke/ fire detector, alarm, escape access or plan in/ outside the apartment. 4 flights of old, wooden, uneven steps up to the apartment. Positives; Location to town/ The shower

A somewhat austere, but very enjoyable and authentic experience in a beautiful city and region

The flat is really charming, in downtown Bayeux, with a view to the old city and (with a bit of gymnastics) to the cathedral. Third floor (in the attic), no elevator, just a nice, creaky wooden staircase. Every necessary shops (and a well-appreciated lavomatique, as there is no washing machine in the flat) is in a 5 minutes walk. No own parking place, but always enough free (from charge) places in 5 minutes (although not in the Rue des Teinturiers, always full). In case of problem, our host was available to answer quickly.

Just small tweaks: in the entrance/living room, that we also used to sleep in, no sunshades on the windows. The doors don't close well, so making a noise in the kitchen may wake up those still sleeping. Bathroom is OK but no facility to dry up the floor which will be inevitably wet. Fridge is small, no oven.

A nice apartment with potential.

The location is perfect for access to sights and restaurants. There are many windows and we could open them and create great airflow during the heatwave. There are 3 free parking spots in front of the apartment, and if you can't score one of them there is a large parking lot across the street that is reasonably priced for the day, free nights and Sunday.

We read the reviews and we thought we made a good choice, but we were disappointed on many levels. Although the location was good for accessing the sights, it is across the street from a major trash disposal area and the dumping of glass bottles from restaurants late every night was very annoying. Yes, we had the windows open because our stay was during a heat wave (no provided fans) and maybe it is far less annoying with the windows closed. I concur with previous reviewers that the spiral staircase needs to be mentioned in the write-up. It is easy to walk up, but with large suitcases it is definitely something to be mentioned in the description to warn less able guests. The biggest disappointment was the cleanliness. Reviewers stated it was immaculate, which was probably the case when the last reviewer posted almost a year ago. Instead we found it far less than "immaculately clean and freshly renovated with lots of attention to detail." Yes, it appears to have been renovated, but the wear and tear of many travellers have definitely left their marks. The shower was moldy, the floors and counter spaces less than clean, the step-up from the living room to the kitchen and bedroom has a big chunk taken out of the molding and was simply 'taped' over, dirty screwdrivers thrown in with the cutlery, the pillows and bedding had body odor and are in bad need of airing or even better, replacing .... and more. It is a cute place with potential, but it is not well cared for. We actually cut our losses and left early.

Cute little apartment on the 4th floor with a view of the river and the cathedral. Superb location. Walking distance to everything and ample parking nearby. Great value for the money.

We had to carry all of our luggage up 4 flights of stairs on a spiral staircase. The kitchen lacked basic necessities like coffee filters and there was little guidance provided on best places for us to park near the apartment where our car wouldn’t be towed.

Ideally located, well presented

The apartment was immaculately clean and freshly renovated with lots of attention to detail. Perfectly located near the centre of Bayeux. The shower was hot and the bed was super comfortable. Our host Florian could not have been more helpful and was the perfect gentleman. We were extremely happy with our stay.

We had no difficulties but if you have a problem with stairs this apartment is possibly not for you. Not a complaint, an observation.

Das apartment lag im4. Stock, was nicht in der anzeige stand. Die Ausstattung war minimal, das Bett sehr weich und sehr niedrig. Kein Schrank, nur eine Kommode, bei der von 3 Schubladen 2 bereits besetzt waren. Nur 2 Handtücher für 2 Personen, auf Nachfrage hätte es 2 weitere Handtücher 3 Tage später gegeben. Kommunikation mit dem host sehr einseitig. Wenn ich etwas gefragt habe, dauerte es einige Tage bis zur Antwort. Wollte er etwas wissen, hat er schon nach 12 Stunden Fragezeichen geschickt. Der Wohnungsschlüssel war 10 Minuten zu Fuß vom Apartment entfernt.

Die Lage der Unterkunft war sehr Zentral gelegen. Man konnte alles sehr gut fußläufig erreichen. Bäckerei und einige Sehenswürdigkeiten. Man konnte mit dem Auto alles Sehenswürdigkeiten erkunden, weil die Wohnung fast genau in der Mitte zu allen Sehenswürdigkeiten der Landung in der Normandie liegt

Das Apartment ist sehr geräumig, das Bett ist viel zu tief und zu weich. Die Auswahl an Reinigungszubehör ist nicht so toll (Staubsauger sind zwar 2 vorhanden, aber keiner funktioniert richtig), sonst ist alles vorhanden was man braucht um vor der Abreise alles zu reinigen

Prima verblijf, goed bed, aangename douche.

De ligging

Koffiezetapparaat duurt veel te lang voordat het doorloopt. Een half uur voor 6 kopjes koffie…. Tip: de slaapbank in de woonkamer is prima, dekbed is aanwezig maar GEEN dekbedovertrek. Het zou fijn zijn als dat bijv. Op de site zou staan. Appartement is bovenin gebouw en alleen per trap bereikbaar. Voor mensen slechter ter been minder geschikt.
