A restorative happy experience with a good dash of fun, Thank you Oi and family.

My return to Thailand after 15 yrs, saw me leave Phuket for Koh Lanta after 2 weeks- feeling a little jaded. After 2 days in Cat bungalows my faith in Thai Tourism and the people working in it was restored. Oi and her family are 11/10 people running a 10/10 guestthouse. The guests were varied, considerate and friendly, the location is great- 10 mins to walk to Klong Khong beach (good swimming on high tide), 30 mins approx to Bamboo beach or Old town by scooter. People visit from the beach to eat at Cat in the evenings, Ohes delicious flavours are consistently good. With an on-site travel desk Oi will coordinate anything (possible). Wifi is reliable and fast. Even comfy hammocks. The included breakfast is continental and good, there are cooked alternatives available for a small fee. Tip -There are a variety of rooms available and they're exactly as described, reserve the one that's finish and price will suit you. Beds are firm in Asia- it's a thing :) Also it's better for your back. I like Guesthouses, the connection and experience is personal, I was lucky to have come to this one. Booked 2 days stayed 8.

Loved it, should’ve extended.

Free breakfast which had fruit and yoghurt/granola. Free water refill. Scooters to rent for 200 per day, they even had a practice track where you could learn to ride the bike. Nice balcony with hammock. Check out is 12. Wide comfy bed.

It was up a hill, our bus wouldn’t drive up so we had to walk up with our bags. My boyfriend would say the shower was hot, I would say it was warm. Could do with a mirror in the room, not just the bathroom. About a 10 minute walk to 7-11/restaurants.

the cats.

the rooms felt like prison bunkers. we got a VERY tiny room and you could hear every detail from the neighboring rooms. the breakfast was very disappointing. if you wanted eggs, you had to pay extra for this even though breakfast was "included".

Overpriced, feels depressive

The location was okay. The staff was friendly, helped with scooter rental and transport to another island, both at reasonable price.

The room is very dark and small and feels very depressive, bed and pillows uncomfortable. The bathroom has no ventilation. Our room had no AC, but we were warned before booking. The fans were super loud, it was very difficult to get some sleep when they were on. This place is unfortunately hugely overpriced for what it is, maybe it's because of the high season. It's hard to understand where such a high rating is coming from.

Overpriced mid-range option during high season. Have stayed at nicer hostels. 7 minute walk to beach along a main road isn’t ideal for a solo traveller. Not much of a communal/social vibe.

Would definitely stay again!

- Friendly staff - Breakfast included - bread, fruit, yoghurt, cereal, coffee etc - hired a moped for 2 days directly from them for 200 baht a day, easy process and would recommend - saw previous negative reviews about the wifi - to tell you the wifi worked completely fine for us! Maybe they have improved the wifi or it depends what room you’re in but we had no issues - i am gluten free and the lady who does the cooking in evening ensured my dinner was gluten free going through the ingredients and sauce labels with me

- Property is up a slight hill so wouldn’t recommend if you have mobility problems - our room had only a fan (not sure if other rooms have a/c but ours just 2 fans) and it was super hot from 10:30am in our room. It could be very uncomfortable and it was cooler outside than inside. Got us out for the day I suppose!

Very charming place with hammocks. Pretty basic rooms but it was a lovely stay

15 min walk to the beach with hills and road noise from the bungalow. It would be helpful if there was an extra shelf in the bathroom for your things

Amazing stay in cat bungalow owned by a lovely family

The owner family is just lovely, so helpful, I felt like home. They also teach me how to drive a motorbike, they are very careful. The location is very well located to visit the island, the bungalow was very cosy and clean. 100% recommended for a stay in Koh Lanta.

Everything! Oi is an absolute gem and one of the main things that makes this bungalow such a great place to stay at. Friendly host, reasonable scooter rentals, found us a fair price for a snorkeling trip, great stay all around. We will stay here again next time we come to Lanta

The accomodation is super comfy, very clean, the staff is amazing, very helpful, the bed is so soft...it was one of the best places we stayed in Thailand.

The breakfast is not all included, you have to pay extra for eggs, omelets, etc

Outstanding simple ccomodation

Great bungalows with a nice hammock in front. Everything was nice and clean. Cats hostel for real, there were quite a few cats around. You could rent a bike and book transfers and yours directly through the owner. You could have lunch and dinner there as well which was very good. It wasn’t very luxurious, but that’s not what I expect at this price. Very very good!!

It’s All about Cats

I just had the best time at Cat Bungalow! What was supposed to be a three-night stay turned into five because I loved it so much. Right from the start, the owner and the staff were super friendly, making me feel like I was at home. And then there’s Som Som, the adorable cat who decided to hang out with me some nights. I’ve never been a cat person, but somehow, Som Som totally won me over! The breakfast was awesome too—especially for such a budget-friendly place! The owner really cares about making guests happy. I can’t recommend Cat Bungalow enough! I’ll definitely be coming back!

Dream

Oi, her husband and staff were all outstanding hosts in every way possible. From communication, check in, stay, check out, booking tours and transportation they had everything covered and did it with the most warmth and joy possible. The location is amazing, on top of a hill, over looking the ocean so you can see islands and even watch the sun set into the ocean. A magical place. The rooms are comfortable with a great design, AC and fan, chairs , hammock outside for you to relax. They have breakfast and dinner that is delicious. There are a couple very cute kitties that will also come by to you and say hello. This is the place to stay in not only in Koh lanta but all of Thailand! A dream made reality. Thank you

Brilliant

The house was so so friendly and kind. Breakfast provided was yummy and basic. The cats that were there made the stay so good They were so cute. The rooms were basic and comfortable. I would say to upgrade to an Aircon one for more comfort. We chose to do this halfway for us stay and it was no issue with the hosts. Would definitely recommend this to anyone going to koh Lanta. Would definitely book again, thank you so so much.

Lovely place to stay with sweet owners

We loved the location, the owners, the room and the motorbike. It was so easy to rent a motorbike on the location and the owners help you with everything. If you want to book a tour or transport, they arrange it all for you. We stayed 4 nights here and we can really recommend it.

Perfect

We had a lovely time with great service! The staff were friendly and they can cook AMAZING! Breakfast is super as well, everything you need in the morning, they were also preparing breakfast a little earlier because we had to leave early in the morning :) You can rent a scooter at the accommodation and there is also an option to do your laundry there :) Location is perfect, since you will be able to go to the north and south easily.

Lovely homely stay

The staff here are wonderful. The bed is comfy (not hard like I’ve found in other hotels in Asia!). Breakfast is good as well. Really appreciated how cheap and easy scooter rental was too.

A cute getaway

The owners are so lovely! Instantly feel welcomed, they’re also very helpful and kind people. The bungalow room itself is so cute and very clean, hammock is the comfiest I’ve been on and we loved having a little porch. The location is great to get to some amazing bars and beaches. They also have bikes to rent and will show you how to use them in-depth if needed, they’re also great help when wanting to book travel (and excursions). If we could rate higher we would!

Absolutely lovely people running this place! Highly recommended! Rooms and breakfast are basic, but are very very clean and got everything needed, including hammock and sitting area in front of your door. Quiet place in quiet location 🤗 Lovely place and lovely stay.

The room was very clean, the bed was comfy and the shower was warm. Really good value for money and a very enjoyable stay. The hosts are very welcoming and put on a nice breakfast every morning that consists of fruits, bread, coffee and tea. Can also rent scooters and activities or onward travel through them. Memorable Stay in Koh Lanta thanks to Cat Bungalow

Look no further and book your stay at Cat Bungalow. The couple managing the property and their beautiful daughter are lovely, helpful and caring. They taught me how to ride a motorbike, gave me recommendations on what to do and where to go. I felt I also had a very local experience and was able to learn more about Thai culture. The breakfast was great. I ended up extending my stay and had a wonderful time. The bungalows are very clean, everything is a 10/10. I've been travelling in Thailand for 3 months now and this is hands down one of the most memorable stays I had.

the owners and their daughter are so sweet, amazing value for money, balcony, AC, we rented a scooter for cheaper than usual, great location next to the beach, restaurants, 7/11, perfectly clean room, they were really helpful for excursions, and transportation. the breakfast is simple but perfect to start a good day !

Calm place, close to the restaurants and shops but not located on a main street. The owners are really nice, small sweet breakfast was included. You can rent a motorbike here or do a laundry. Very clean. It is more for couples or friends travels, not for families.
