B&B Domus Dei Cocchieri

A home away from home. The B&B is uniquely styled with Sicilian art and forms a stunning gallery in a traditional stone building. The room was exceptionally clean, very comfortable, a well equipped modern bathroom and excellent air conditioning. The location was excellent - Kalsa is a fun, lively but quiet neighbourhood close to public transport and walking distance to major sightseeing in the area. Beautiful Lia runs the B&B with absolute pride. The breakfast was a highlight - a lovingly prepared generous spread with fresh fruits and local pastries on top of breakfast classics. The house was immaculately clean, well cooled and lovingly presented. We were so grateful to have stayed.

The B&B is located above a local restaurant which is lively until 11pm. Earplugs if you want an early night but very peaceful after closing and in the morning.

Breakfast OK Location -poor Not ideal -roads area poorly surfaced & are a rabbit warren-couldn't find a real road. The district was low class & not for the elderly

The place has been renovated along the lines of the 1970's hippi era in Bali. It was great then but we have out grown those days

Perfect central location between central train station and historic centre, within 15 minutes walk of most landmarks. Host accommodated a late night arrival (delayed flight) and provides a fresh breakfast buffet each morning, fruit, pastries, bread, cooked meats and cheese etc. with good coffee/tea options.

The location (central, beautiful, historic), the wonderfully quirky building, the exceptional breakfast (honestly, we’ve probably never had a better B&B breakfast), and Lia’s clear and helpful communications.

Unfortunately, there was no water when we arrived (due to a plumbing emergency), so it was an uncomfortable start after a very hot journey. But the water was up and running within a couple of hours. Also, the air conditioning was broken in one of the main bedrooms - again, not ideal given the very hot weather. Both things meant that (noisy) work was being done at points while we were there.
