Barlaman Luxury Rooms

The room is absolutely gorgeous, has plenty of space and a lovely bathroom too. We really enjoyed staying there and our host was so friendly and helpful. Highly highly recommend this. The location is also a real highlight.

Really nice well appointed rooms. We didn’t see the host Giammarco but via whatsapp and phone he ensured ( with no delays or inconvenience) that we got into the property and were comfortable. Really great service and lovely rooms which were great value. Ralph - Hampshire UK

Nothing

The location is quite good. Easy to get to restaurants, churches and tourist sites. Gianmarco, the owner, was extremely helpful in arranging my guide’s parking and registering it locally so we’d have no trouble. Overall the owner is probably a nice person but his welcome mat and philosophy of hospitality is questionable (see below).

This property may be ok with travelers who look for no frills and no human contact, but for me the property owner Gianmarco, should understand he is in the hospitality business. Period. Here’s what to expect when staying here that I did not know: 1) no receptionist to welcome you or help you on the premises. If you don’t speak Italian and G-d forbid something happens to you after hours (e.g. a doctor, ambulance, taxi, etc) or even need extra towels or anything you’re out of luck. Nobody to turn to. 2) nobody to help you if you cannot carry your suitcase up the winding and narrow staircase upstairs (around 50 steps in total). If you’re a bit older there’s no elevator or drag to help. 3) nothing luxurious at all about this accommodation. Luxurious is a misnomer. Clean yes. Luxurious not at all. 4) no welcome complimentary water bottle in the room. First property this ever happened to me in Italy 5) cameras and security is the main focus of this property and you feel watched, not secure, everywhere. Signs everywhere in yellow and black warning you of the video surveillance and kitchen area has camera with tv screens you can see yourself in. 6) no place to put shampoo, soap etc in shower stall. 7) owner does not confirm payment or give you a receipt because it’s charged directly to my credit card. He does not even thank you for staying or choosing the location I found this property’s owner to be very focused on minimizing human contact and not focused on making guests feel welcome. As a guest I want to feel comfortable and welcome with a human touch. Not a camera and remote control.
