The pool area was great and the breakfast was lovely, a 10 minute walk from the center of Ubud and was quiet away from the road noise.
The bed was very hard and shared the bathroom with some red ants and a lot of mosquitos around due to the fish pond .

Amazing expirience ! It is a great pleasure for me to have stayed for 5 nights in such an authentic Balezan accommodation. You have the impression as if you are staying in a temple and that you have a room in the temple. Majestic!! Ketut's family opens the doors of their home and hosts you, shares the same space of the property with you and you absorb their relaxed and calm energy. They are very kind and meet your requests.
Within their property they have their own private temple where only family members pray. There are many very valuable and old ornaments, sculptures, statues, carvings on the property so you feel like you are in a museum. It is an unbeatable feeling if you schedule a massage with them (which is excellent) and listen to the rain falling on the leaves of the jungle that the other side of the property overlooks! And on the level below is a yoga patio that also overlooks the jungle, if you want to make an appointment. My experience of this is breathtaking. The entire building is made of 6 cascading levels on the back side and another 2 floors high on the main side. Deluxe rooms overlook the jungle and the river below and ordinary rooms, which are anything but ordinary, because they are like separate houses - temples, overlook the garden. Each room - house has its own terrace with a table and chairs in front. Breakfast, every night you choose for tomorrow and it's excellent! You also have their small restaurant for lunch and dinner if you don't want to go out.
Ketut's property is on the main street, where in front you have food stores, a shop with silver jewelry, a currency exchange office and small restaurants. Just
- 7 minutes walkinh- Kajeng rice field which is fantastic
-5 minutes walking royal castle Puri Langon.
-5 min(300 m )down the street - main Ubud square large Ubud temple , Open market place where you can get the cheapest shopping (teas and Luwak coffees).
Nothing to say

I liked the traditional Balinese style rooms
I did not like the noise from the cars right on the street

I’ve stayed in this property 3 times now and I will always continue to stay here on my visits to Ubud. The staff are amazing and have been very welcoming on each stay. The location is just a short stroll into the centre. The rooms are very comfortable, the pool is great and I love the breakfast. It’s so relaxing to be surrounded my the trees and the river that flows below.
N/A I can’t fault it at all

Ketut’s Place is a beautiful and memorable stay overall. The staff are truly amazing. Warm, welcoming, and always happy to help, they really make you feel looked after from the moment you arrive.
The grounds are absolutely stunning. Lush, peaceful, and beautifully maintained, it feels like a little tropical oasis and is one of the highlights of staying here.
The location is okay. It’s a bit of a walk into town, especially in the heat, but it’s very easy to use the Grab app to book a driver for just a couple of dollars, so getting around is still convenient.
One important thing to note is room access. We were given a room that required going down a large number of stairs, which were quite steep and became slippery in the rain. We’re in our 30s and still found this challenging, and ultimately decided to move accommodations because of it. This room would be extremely difficult and potentially dangerous for anyone elderly or with mobility issues. Unfortunately, this wasn’t clearly mentioned in the listing, so I strongly recommend checking whether your room is easy to access before booking.

Really lovely stay at Ketut’s place. A lovely blend of staying in a traditional Balinese home, with all the typical parts of the Balinese village, and a modern twist. Facilities were great and staff were helpful. Really close to central Ubud and easy to get around.
Nothin it was great !

They offered many opportunities for activities, just ask. Great drivers to get you around. A lovely pool. We stayed in room 14 and it was a peaceful retreat from the hurly burly of Main Street Ubud, which was minutes away. The Kecek dance down the street was amazing.
WiFi was a little spotty.

Love the overall atmosphere of the Balinese house with the different buildings
Bathroom could do with a refresh.

It was such a cute home, and people were very kind and helpful. I really felt cosy at Ketut’s place. It was a relaxing environment and close to the Ubud Palace and monkey forest.
I recommend
The sheets and curtains were old and stained. Also I didn’t get WiFi in my bedroom

The staff were really friendly and helpful. Really good location. We got the budget room, it was as you would expect from a budget room and we got what we paid for. The pool was lovely and the breakfast was good (if you have a big appetite like us you will most likely need a second breakfast after).
The wifi didn’t work from our room. It worked great from the pool though which is where we spent most of our time anyway.

Very well located, walkable distance from the city center
Relaxing spot, nice swimming pool
Good value for money if you aren’t too picky with the below
Shower pressure wasn’t that great and had one shower without hot water.
Flush didn’t flush at some point.
I gave my laundry to be washed and it came back with all the stains still on it ( not happy at all, only noticed once I’ve left as I didn’t open the bag until then )
Balinese massage wasn’t enjoyable compared to the one I had during my trip in Bali
Room service wasn’t done the day we requested it

Beautiful rooms with stunning architectural work.
Slightly far from the main hangouts.
Not a huge selection on breakfast. Breakfast options and quantity can improve.

This is a traditional family owned business. We were treated like family. Awang Ketut is always welcoming and the staff care for the guests. I love the classical Bali atmosphere and room decoration of our Room 13. This was our second visit and hope to return for a third.
Nothing. All good.

Good points: helpful staff, good breakfast, privacy, location, the friendly local family, the pool. This is a traditional Balinese extended family compound, not a western resort, so our expectations were aligned with the experience and it met all our needs. Mr Ketut was very helpful to us when we left items in our safe. He helped get our items to Denpasar the day after we left Ubud.
Bedroom was a little smaller than we would like, but we may have had the smallest - we had room 11 - the others may have been fine. It was a challenge to get our suitcases up/down the narrow stairs, but we managed, and staff assisted. There are no tea/coffee making facilities and we had no fridge to keep water/drinks cold. The shower drain seemed blocked.

The staff were super lovely! I cannot stress enough how lovely they were. 10/10 service. The place was also very beautiful and picturesque. The pool and pool area were lovely and the restaurant had delicious breakfast and also dinner/lunch options. The location is also fantastic - only a 10 min walk to the main street.
My room was quite dark and damp. There was mould on the curtains. The shower pressure was great however you couldn’t adjust the shower height or placement. There is no normal lock on the doors just a wooden slide latch thing.

The place has such an authentic vibe — it truly feels like you're staying in a temple, which makes the experience really special and peaceful.
The staff were absolutely great: always helpful and responsive to any questions I had. The breakfast was a highlight — beautifully presented, full of variety, and absolutely delicious. I especially recommend trying the Indonesian breakfast option — it was fantastic!
There was a slight smell in the room when I first arrived. It wasn’t a major issue, but worth mentioning.
2.0 / 10.0
The location was pretty great, 10 minutes walk from the Ubud palace.
When we arrived, the room had a stuffy odor, and the sink wasn’t functioning properly. I reported the issue to a staff member, but no one ever came to check, so we had to fix it ourselves as the water wouldn’t drain. The overall stay was quite unpleasant. There was visible mold on the bed and mosquito net, which was very concerning from a health perspective. The bed was extremely old, and I strongly advise against looking underneath—it was full of dust and hair. The bathroom was in terrible condition and had a strong, nauseating sewage smell. The pool area also needs attention; the chair cushions were torn and worn out. For the price we paid, the experience was far from worth it. I would not return and do not recommend staying here.

Staff were amazing. Super helpful and attentive. The garden was lovely. Our room was very unique. Private view of the forest behind was a good touch. Breakfast was really good
The bedding wasn't very clean. Sheets were washed but it seemed like some dirt remained? Bathroom was a bit dirty and the shower was awkward.

It is so beautiful and very peaceful. The bed for me was incredibly comfortable and I slept like a baby which is unusual. Ketut was lovely, all the staff were very friendly and helpful. The pool was just lovely. The place was full but I didn’t see or hear many other people- very peaceful.
Our room was very small and a bit pokey - it was hard to get in and out of the bed. Would have liked somewhere to hang clothes, also a simple tea and coffee station would have been nice as it was too far to get an early morning coffee outside before 7.30 when their kitchen opens.

The lovely patio area by each room was so nice for sitting and looking out at the gardens. And having the morning coffee delivered there was such a treat. The food was soooo good. Best pancakes ever! So many beautiful little touches and the staff was so accommodating, warm, and caring. Thank you for everything!

What was good - The location is pleasant. The masseuse Rai is good.
Staff attitude is not good. I felt humiliated and harassed during checkout.
The check out time is 12, I was in the room till 12 14, all packed and ready to leave for Canggu, just waiting for my phone to charge, atleast upto 60% as i had to travel (i had put it on charge earlier as i showered, but their extention plugs are so loose, it didn't charge).
There she comes, the staff with another staff, like loan sharks and goondas, demanding that I leave the room
There was no 'what time are you expected to leave' 'may we help you with luggage'
None. 'Leave. Others are waiting downstairs'. Lies, my room was just above the reception - you don't have sound proof rooms,no body was waiting downstairs. I got doublt proof when i went downstairs.
Second, most of your villa is empty. So is that really what you should be saying.
Thirdly and most seriously, why were two ppl required to come, knock on my door behave like loan sharks at 14 minutes past check out town.
Do you realise how humiliating this is to a solo female traveler ? Especially when ive already told you guys the previous night that I'll be checking out the next day and also where I am headed.
Now let me tell you something else. I understand your language. When you four were sitting in the reception talking and laughing and bitching about me, I understood it.
Anyway i left with 24% battery on my phone at 12 22 as soon as my cab showed up.
Was it necessary for you to behave this way?
You ruined my memory of the two wonderdul days i spent in ubud.
I even booked extra services with you guys, directly through you guys. Do you really think at 12 14 it was necessary to be burly with me that way ?
Plus - bathroom was smelly all the time even on day 0, two lights and the fan was not working, wifi sucks.

We loved everything, THE BREAKFAST was incredible, we loved the pool too, the staff were so kind we did a few extras such as laundry and even a couples massage and these were both perfect, the highlight however was the special Balinese dinner, the food was amazing and we learnt so much about the Balinese culture we would’ve missed out on, must visit
