I absolutely loved my stay at Chandra House. I booked in on a whim, and ended up extending my stay. This is an excellent 'budget friendly' accomodation option in Ubud, for someone who wants a quiet, comfortable and simple space to relax at the end of your day. Located within walking distance of Ubud town centre, or a short Grab/Gojek bike ride to wherever you need to go. It provides a quiet sanctuary out of the hustle and bustle of the traffic. This is an authentic Homestay with a lovely Balinese family that I had the pleasure to spend some time chatting with in their kitchen. They made me feel so welcome and safe in their home, and I loved hearing about their culture. I adored Blacky and Bliss, the family homestay dogs, who are very friendly and love a good ear scratch. The rooms are simple but lovely with wooden furniture, a desk if you need to work and air-conditioning. They are kept exceptionally clean (and mould free which was important to me). A yummy breakfast prepared by Wayan is included daily in the price. Loved the fresh fruit! I booked the room with the garden view, and I loved waking up to the sound of the water fountain, and eating my breakfast on my little patio overlooking the pretty garden full of tropical leaves. Wayan is the man of the house, and he is an excellent tour guide. He has wonderful options to explore Ubud and the surrounding mountains, terraces, temples and waterfalls. Wayan also has a special connection to an authentic Balinese Shaman & Priest who I highly recommend booking a session with. It was a very special experience, and in my opinion, he is an 'authentic' healer. I hope to visit Chandra House again.
