    The hotel despite the Mariott tag has no visual appeal. Old building, full of carpets, gloomy, not airy, in a small bylane like most small hotels in Istanbul are.

    The stay was good. But please attention to be charged for mini bar consumptions when checking out. It’s better to make sure take photo when checking in the room, otherwise really hard to clarify. The staff finally figured it out but the experience was bad.

    The hotel hired a tour private tour guide for me for 4,300 lira and I was trapped in a carpet shop forcing to buy carpets costing minimum 1,000 Euros. Even I affirmatively said that I don’t want to buy any carpets, the shop owners and the tour guide switched to Turkish speaking mode to ignore me and still don’t let me go. I ended up having to pay them tips to get away from the shop. Then the tour guide took me a Turkish delight shop where the price of each product was ridiculously high. e.g. 5,400 lira for one box of delight and the rose oil is 4,800 lira per ml which the price is more or less 10 times higher than normal shop. If you like to be scammed, welcome to this hotel.
