Amazing location! Perfect for the fringe. Really clean & comfortable. Surprisingly quiet. Great facilities.

The apartment was well priced and to be honest was good value for money. There was plenty of space. The location was central. Nice and warm.

It's just not that comfy, the sofa was old and uncomfortable and down the back of it was filthy. Kitchen floor was dirty. Nothing really felt that clean, although it had been cleaned quickly. The stairwell was filthy which was a pity as it could be really cool. The location is very central, however it is a little part of the Royal Mile which feels a little rough. (We should have known that but didn't look closely). There were homeless people in the square outside the flat all the time drinking and someone was sick all over the doorstep on day 1. Twice when we came out there was a little jakie fight going on. I would say that if you're not worried about that and wanted a central flat which you weren't planning spending any time in then it is perfect. Hosting was non existent. That means things like a host of automated emails, including one asking for a nice review! We requested an early entry and received no answer. As it happens we turned up 3 hours early and just chanced it and there was no problem. There are a few t-bags in the flat but only 2 toilet rolls. (If you were in after us then we left you a pack of 10!). Zero views and quite noisy, including the neighbours having a massive bust up where we almost called the police. If you want a traditional feeling flat and / or had a young family and planned getting take-aways and spending some nights in watching TV then it is definitely not suitable. For a young couple looking for a cheap place then it might be perfect. For reference, we travel through Edinburgh every christmas for the last 15 years and always get appartments and this was by far our least favourite accommodation. There is nothing hugely wrong with it but there are much better options for just a little bit more money. That sounds quite negative. Honestly it was 5 out of 10, nothing that spoiled our trip but way below par for the available accommodation in Edinburgh.
