Our second time in this beautiful cottage in a wonderful part of the world.

Pristinely clean little cottage in a perfect location with wrap around views. Three double bedrooms, and modern bathroom with power shower- downstairs loo and great kitchen- it’s an ideal property for a family holiday in a stunning part of the world with views over Carlingford Loch and the Mourne Mountains.

The property was spotless clean. It had fantastic views. It was very quiet at night. It has a very big yard. Which is great for kids to play in. It has great heating. If needed. There is a great working spacious kitchen. With all the utensils.

Like visiting my mom's without the stress!

Very well outfitted, treats for the kids, breakfast was available. The sheep yelling at us when we arrived made the kids super happy. We were comfortable, and very pleased with our choice. These folks are so friendly and approachable - I cannot recommend them enough :)

I couldn't find any scissors. Pillows in main bedroom were very hard (I swapped with the kids). Google maps takes you to a different house :p

Fab place, deserving of high rating. Will be back!

Had everything you could need and more! Modern inside and fabulous views from every window. Comfortable beds - our son slept better here than he’s ever slept in his own bed!! Fully stocked kitchen and loads of food items provided for arrival so no need to worry about finding a shop in an unfamiliar place.

The heating was pre-set to come on at certain times and there was no way to over-ride/switch-off. I even asked the owner when he came round on the first night but he said no and it meant it was far too hot at certain times if day as it’s the end of March now and it was very sunny with big windows so the heating was unbearable at times (and most radiators couldn’t be switched off individually). But that really is the only negative.

Lovely family home from home in idyllic location.

This is our third stay at Bar View House and hopefully not our last. My 8 year old daughter declared on arrival that it is her favourite place in the whole world. That sums it up really!

The one drawback is you are not walking distance to shops etc but you know that when booking. However, can easily get online grocery deliveries.

fantastic scenary from the house. super clean, tidy, warm house. had all the facilities one could ever need. the welcome basket was fabulous, and we could settle in immediately. linnen + towels were fresh and soft. Comfortable beds in all rooms. Everything is done to a high standard. I would definitely come back here again. friendly + helpful hosts who are minutes away if needed.

Bar view is the best rental property out of many we have stayed in previously

this house was home from home and its the first property we have rented that we have felt so much at home. The owners were very nice and left you alone unless you needed them and the beds were so comfortable we got a great nights sleep.

this property was wonderful, it's the first rental that had everything we needed. the only thing we would have liked was a bit more comfy seating in the lounge area but this would not stop us from returning everything else made up for that

Beautiful House, Wonderful Hosts

Amazing house in a wonderful location. It was only a few minutes drive to everything you could need, but at the same time felt so peaceful and rural. The hosts were lovely and very attentive. Special touches such as the welcome basket with all the essentials were greatly appreciated. The house far exceeded our expectations and had everything we needed and more! We had a lovely stay at Bar View House and we would all definitely return.

A lovely house with all the comforts from home, settled in a beautiful landscape.

This is the second time we stayed at this charming property and hopefully wont be our last. The house has everything you need for a comfortable stay and set in beautiful landscape with mountain and (a bit of) sea views. The views really are stunning. There's lots to do in the surrounding area for families. The hosts, Peter and Louise, are excellent and very attentive (a microwave broke and they replaced it immediately). I highly recommend Bar View House.

Everything about this house was exceptional. House was so comfortable and everything you could possibly need was provided. Peter and Louise are just the loveliest people and the kindness they showed to us and the kids is something we will always remember. Stunning views and my 8 year old will miss those sheep!!

Louise and Peter are great hosts. We were supplied with fresh bread, pancakes, croissants, chocolate brioche, fresh milk and orange juice. It was a lovely touch and very welcoming. A lovely house in stunning landscape.

The house was like a home from home with every thing you needed, and the hosts were so helpful and even provided milk, bread, fruit, biscuits, cereal and a treat for my daughter (which she will always remember!). The area is stunning and despite the fact that it rained a lot (you don't get beautiful lush scenery without that rain!!) we managed to pack a lot in including a swim in the sea and a drive through the clouds (Slieve Gullion). It has a tranquil rural setting but it is close to Newry, Omeath, Carlingford and Dundalk, and many other places worth visiting. I highly recommend!
