Location superb - quiet neighborhood with coast at end of street, 5-10 min picturesque walk to great restaurants and pubs in town. Easy check in/out, friendly owners and staff, plenty of street parking directly in front of accommodation. Sink, fridge, wardrobe, and small TV in room. Excellent no frills lodging, perfect for my needs.
Was concerned about disturbing other guests using washing facilities on 2nd floor. Room with bathtub had noisy sticking door, room with shower stall had noisy exhaust fan. Other than that thoroughly enjoyed the stay.

I stayed here for one night, before taking a cruise on the paddle steamer Waverley. I only paid £45 for one night, which is substantially less than I would have paid for an equivalent Travelodge or Premier Inn. Parking is free on the street outside and I found plenty of space for my LWB van - it is free all day, so if you are heading out for a full day, you can safely leave your vehicle on the street and avoid the £10 charge for the beach-front parking in town. The bedroom was comfy, with a TV, fridge and kettle (with tea/coffee etc). There is WiFi too, but I didn't really need it as phone signals are all fine anyway. I was met by the owner who was very friendly and gave me some info on the local area. Showers were good - shared, but they were perfectly clean and I did not have to wait for them at any point. It's less than 10 minutes to walk into town, to the ferry terminal or to the nearby Morrisons or M&S. Lots of eating out options available nearby.
I had room 1, which faces onto the street, so with the window open there is a little noise at times - nothing major, especially if you have earplugs, which you may want to use anyway as the seagulls can be rather noisy too! Room 1 is accessed via a staircase, so is not suitable for the infirm and/or wheelchair users. The room was a little small - when I went out to get dinner, I got soaked in the rain and I found it a little awkward finding things to hang my wet clothes on. I think for one person overnight, the room is fine - if I was visiting with my wife, I'd look to book a bigger room.

Greeting and staff were lovely. Bathrooms were very clean. Location is fab.
Carpet in hall threadbare. Photos only showd.exterior and entrance hall and to be honest you can understand why. Double bed was tiny, uncomfortable and old, duvet and pillows smelled stale. Suffering from a bad back and aching hips after 3 days of it. Might be ok for a smaller person but not for me. Nowhere to hang damp towels, no adequate area for food, drink prep other than top of a very nosiy beer fridge.whc8h also woke.us up frequently. Not ideal in the event of water spillage. Power only available via 4 way extension right next to kettle so potential for electric shock. Wallpaper stained and yellowed, peeling off ceiling. No proper wardrobe. Extractor in shower room sounds like a jet engine ready for take off and woke us frequently when other residents used it. Other bathroom door was warped and took an effort to close. Twice the price I'd expect to pay for something like this without ensuite. Shame because it has potential and a few quid spent on a new mattress, pillows and duvet would help a lot.
