Another great stay. I like everything about this small hotel.
I was disappointed that my planned walk had been cancelled and, so, to have my room upgraded to one with a magnificent view was such a lovely surprise.
I ate in the hotel and can recommend the fish and chips.

You can hear the cars but I went knowing that and brought ear plugs

Breakfast was amazing and a really good price. The view from the room was astonishing and the bed was extremely comfortable.
The bathroom could do with a little bit of an upgrade and better products, but a small issue overall

The food in the restaurant was very good. The bar has a nice selection of local beers and mixed drinks. The view from the dining room at the river was very nice. If you can get a river facing room, it is worth it, as the view is great.
Parking can be a challenge on some nights as you have to use street parking. This was more of a challenge on weekends then weekdays, but the restaurant is very popular with the locals. I am really having to nit pick here.

Staff were friendly and welcoming. The bar was well stocked and nice atmosphere. Room was warm and had tea/coffee and biscuits. Plenty of on street parking. Lovely view of the river.
Shower a little small.

Travelled for work and stayed for 3 nights. The rooms are well decorated and well kept. The bar is nice (had a nice quiz going on one night) and friendly and staff couldn't do enough for you. The food at dinner was nice but limited menu. The Scottish breakfast in the morning was superb. I was also told the breakfast wasn't served until 7.30 but i was down early as had to leave and without even asking the man doing the mornings was asking what i wanted straight away, which was brilliant as i didn't want to have to leave and find something on the way. On top of that, the view from the bed room ( i think i was in room 3) Was stunning, right across the Clyde!

Comfortable, easy to check in/out, breakfast was great, good value for money, bathroom felt newly renovated.
Rooms are a bit small. Was fine for 1 person, might be tight for a couple.

Room very comfortable, breakfast excellent.
The only aspect I would mention is that as I was on the ground floor the noise from the restaurant and bar was quite evident. However both nights I was so tired I fell asleep very quickly.

I liked that you could order the pub food to your room. It was perfectly lovely for the price you pay and the location suited my needs. I'd stay here again. Staff we were very accommodating too.
Parking wasn't super easy but you can find on street parking if you look for it.

Appreciate it’s a pub type accommodation so pub noise did come through but not much disruption to sleep

We had a whistle-stop visit to Gourock this week to see family and, once again, chose to stay at The Spinnaker Hotel. I’m not usually one to revisit the same place, I like trying new spot, but the Spinnaker is my one exception. Quite simply, there’s nowhere else in Gourock that compares.
The Spinnaker is a small, charming hotel with around 8–10 rooms, including a couple of accessible ones on the ground floor. We’ve stayed in several over the years, but Room 6 is our favourite, spacious, spotless, and incredibly comfortable. It has a huge bed (big enough that you’d never know you’re sharing it..... unless you want to 😉), a lovely ensuite shower, and a bay window with a table and chairs where you can sit with a cuppa and soak in the stunning views of the Clyde (weather permitting!). Rooms start from about £80 per night, and they’re worth every penny, clean, warm, welcoming, and even pet-friendly, so your furry friends can join you too.
The staff are another highlight. Every single person we’ve met has been genuinely kind, attentive, and clearly proud of the hotel. It’s a well-run team that really goes above and beyond to make guests feel at home.
Now, the food and drinks, this is where the Spinnaker really shines. It’s always busy, popular with locals as well as guests, which tells you everything you need to know.
Breakfast (around £10–£12) includes cereals, fruit, yogurt, and juices to help yourself to, plus freshly cooked hot options made to order. This time we tried the full “Spinny” breakfast, an omelette (which was fantastic), and a breakfast roll, all delicious, all enjoyed with those unbeatable views.
For lunch and dinner, sides start at about £4, lunch dishes around £10, and main meals about £15. With nine of us dining over two days, we pretty much sampled the entire menu, from fish tacos to halloumi burgers, and every plate was cleared. The portions are generous, the ingredients fresh, and the flavours spot on.
Always too short a trip but that's not on the hotel! Will book longer for our next visit!

The location being next to the river was nice
The room was shabby and tired, it didn't feel clean, there was a draft from the window blowing over the bed.

The location was excellent, the staff were lovely and the one meal I had was very good.
I expected that in 2025, hotel guests would be able to connect to the WI-FI. We couldn't, we were told to just keep trying, it should work. It didn't.

Friendly staff, superb view overlooking Clyde, great restaurant and bar
Front window had condensation which spoiled the view somewhat.

Room was lovely and the property overall is beautiful. The breakfast was nice, and included in the room rate. The view was spectacular.
The bathroom was a bit dated and the toilet seat was loose, and the shower wasn't very pleasant. It was hard to work out how to get it going, and the water flow was really pelty and hard.

Enjoyed a wonderful 2 night stay at the Spinney. The staff were all really welcoming and friendly.
Our room was comfortable & the bathroom was huge including a separate big bath & walk in rainfall shower. There were no river view rooms available but it really didn’t matter as there were gorgeous views from the lounges.
We loved the Thursday night quiz & were delighted to join in.
The breakfasts were fabulous as was the evening meal we booked on the first night.
All good
