The place to stay in Etretat

Beautiful property in a lovely setting. It is elegantly decorated and very comfortable. Breakfast and parking were a plus. It’s a short walk to the beach/boardwalk, restaurants and shops. The host was very welcoming and gave us restaurant recommendations and information about things to do in the area.

Very relaxing stay and friendly and knowledgeable staff

Beautiful grand town house with a large terrace and view of the sea and the town. Easy walking distance to beach and restaurants. Comfortable sitting room and gorgeous breakfasts of homemade preserves, local cheeses and butter. Lovely artisan breads. Cooked eggs available to taste.

Well maintained old villa with friendly hosts, amazing breakfast from local products, 5 mins from main seafront, I would recommend.

I liked everything but you should consider few moments: - city tax (3 eur per person per night) is paid on check out by cash; - breakfast includes cheese, eggs, cereals, pastry, beverages- no veggies or meat, if you fancy this - rooms don’t have vanity kits or slippers, one La Roche Posay soap-shampoo - obviously there is no elevator but steep stairs- might be an issue for elderly people - seagulls are very loud, think about night ears plugs - do book sea view room, it is totally worth it ; try to stay more than 1 night to get full experience

The best place I have ever stayed — full of love, warmth, beauty, and unforgettable memories.

Everything was absolutely perfect. The house is incredibly beautiful, full of authentic details, and radiates warmth and love. The location is ideal, the rooms are stunning, everything is spotless clean, and the atmosphere is simply magical. The food was delicious — truly some of the best I’ve ever had. The owner and everyone we met were incredibly kind, welcoming, and attentive. They even allowed us early check-in and to leave our luggage after check-out, showing real care and flexibility. You feel like you are stepping into history, and it’s a place you immediately want to return to again and again.

There was absolutely nothing to dislike. Everything exceeded expectations.

Feel like a guest in a historic home!

A lovely nineteenth century house. Full of atmosphere and history. Nice dining room and lounge. Helpful owner who gave lots of local information. Breakfast very good. Free parking. Very central. Great view from our sea view room. Small and intimate.

Only the late check in 17:00 because we would have liked to check in early (at 15:30 when we arrived so we could have done the walk over the cliffs which we missed as a result.

Loved the lobby, the location and the set up.

Check-in at 5 pm is unheard of! I have stayed in ultra-luxuary hotels to boutique hotels all over Europe and check in at 5 pm is not acceptable. The owner who was in the property was unpleasant and curt, she did offer me to stay in the lobby until 5 for check in, even though the room was available and she knew I was tired since I emailed her that I was arriving at noon. 3pm is the latest check-in norm and standard all over the world.

Just a fantastic place!

Just a fantastic place! The interior of the hotel is simply magnificent: the dining room and the library are very atmospheric. The owner of the hotel was very friendly and changed us from a garden view room to a sea view room. And this view is definitely worth it! In the morning we had a very tasty French breakfast with local products. Parking was also convenient: we were able to leave the car before our check-in and pick it up a few hours after check-out.

Absolutely amazing hotel! Fabulous interior, two fireplaces, spectacular view, super large room. Breakfast was good as well: a selection of breads, jams and cereals, plus an omelette prepared just for you. Perfect!

The only thing I would say is that it is not suitable at all for disabled - there are 20 steps up to the property and then lots of difficult stairs to the rooms . If you are able bodied it’s fab ! Was surprised there was city tax on top of booking fee

Wonderful stay, recommended!

Everything was great, we had a wonderful stay. The hostess who is well informed on great places to visit during our stay in Etretat. The property is beautifully decorated and the rooms are themed. If you love Lupin, ask for the mystery room. Breakfast was outstanding with lots of options.

Very comfortable bed.

The house was stunning. The grand entrance to the house with elaborate stairs was stunning. The spiral stairway leading to the rooms is narrow and old, but what do you expect in a historical mansion: Castelle De La Theresse. The home decor matches the house. I like it. Room - spacious for a double bed. The green motif of the room matches even the key to the room. BED - is the most comfortable comforter I ever slept in. We have been traveling since June 2022 and were in 12 hotels/b&b since. Breakfast - I had the best croissants I ever tasted. My poached egg was perfect. Cut up fresh fruits (the peach was delicious!) and varied selections of bread including spreads and cheese were available. The breakfast table is nicely set. Staff - very nice people. The host provided us information were to have dinner and how to get to the cliffs/church even though he only spoke French. The staff during breakfast (the lady and the young lady did not speak any english at all). But they were very nice and the translation app helped a lot.

We only stayed for one night to see the Etratat cliffs. The creaky stairs and floors and the voices from the other rooms travel through the walls.
