They were inflexible

The information about the time for the check-in was not clear. In the day of my stay, I was informed by the host that the check-in was possible just between 18:30 and 20:00. They mentioned that they contacted me before via email, but I did not receive any messages. I asked for some flexibility because I was still on my way to the accommodation and they were quite inflexible/even impolite regarding the request. I had to pay 130 euros (full price) and book another accommodation - it was really disappointing overall.

There was no elevator and since we lived in the 2nd floor, we needed to carry our luggages by yourself.

Avoid this venue. The staff was horrible!!!

The location was fine. The city is very small so everything is in short walking distance.

The staff!!!! We received so many disturbing passive agressive, or better say, directly and fully agressive massages before our arrival from the staff. The toilet doesn't have a door, it is directly connected with the room. Keep in mind that the reception is working only from 6-8 PM and they wouldn't let you in if you are even a minute late even though they are living or staying in the house during the whole day.

The room was small but okay.

The mirror in the bathroom (ground floor room facing courtyard) was ridiculously high. It was placed for people over 6 feet tall. The plug next to the mirror was even higher up, unreachable to most average height people. This simply puzzled everyone in our group.

Not so nice

Good location! But the check in is too late, around 18:30 pm. Check out complicate cause when you go down you bedroom you can not come back even it ll be before the check out. The breakfast is inside the bedroom between 8:00 or 8:30. It’s just for sleep , does not worth for the price . You stay at the second floor , you can not use y shoes . She leaves there and rent only the rooms

Very nice place!

Very friendly hostess, tasty breakfast brought to the room, beautiful room/bathroom and everything was very clean. The location is perfect for everything in town and there are good restaurants and a grocery store on the same street.

A fan would be a welcome addition to the room: it was hot with the windows closed and a little bit noisy (Friday night, room facing the street) with the windows open. Sunrise is early in the summer and the curtains don't darken things much.

The owner of the house is so friendly and nice, though language barrier she try her best to explain everything and the breakfast is excellent with room service. The Location is also good and 5 mins from the beach. All together the experience in this Ville was excellent and we highly recommend to others 😊

It was a little bit cold in the room at night and the heating was available for a limited time.

Pleasant

The location is good. Very close to the beach. But it’s a very small village so this isn’t really a huge advantage. The room is spacious.

Hours are very bad. I felt rushed the whole time. The owner only allows checking in between 6.30pm and 8pm. She would also ask what time you’d leave and go knock on your door and explicitly tell you to go around that time. As I woke up a bit later than usual that day, I barely had enough time to get ready before I had to leave. The owner doesn’t speak English, making it really difficult to ask for or about anything, including very basic things like locking doors, checking in and out, etc. The bedsheets had a weird smell too.

Airbnb experience

The location is great - 5 mins walk to the beach.

As a non-French speaker I struggled a lot with communication, as the host didn’t speak English. I didn’t have the right expectation from the beginning, as it really was not a hotel, a more kind of Airbnb set up. This is a house with very strict rules (I was told off for closing the door too loud), tricky locks and very inflexible check-in/ check-out options (I was told to check-out at 9.30 instead of 11 because the host had some private arrangements that morning).

Ich komme wieder!

Es war alles super! Bin drei Nächte dort gewesen, hätten auch Monate sein können :). Die Location ist nah an der Bushaltestelle und nah am Strand. Besitzerin lieb, bemüht und führt ihr Haus super gut. Man muss in den zweiten Stockwerk gehen, man bekommt Hausschuhe, da Straßenschuhe im Haus nicht erlaubt sind und die Läden (Supermarkt, Restaurants) schließen in der Regel zwischen 19.30 und 22.30/23 h. Es gibt ein leckeres Frühstück und man fühlt sich wie daheim, was will man mehr.. Ich komme auf jeden Fall wieder!!

Comportement de la propriétaire insupportable

L'emplacement, en ville et proche de la plage. Mais attention uniquement parking payant à 15€ pour 5h, gratuit de 19h à 9h. Jolie chambre et salle de bain.

Le comportement de la propriétaire qui rappelle 2 fois avant le séjour ensuite à l'arrivée puis pendant le séjour par SMS de ne pas salir les lieux, de laisser les chaussures en bas des escaliers (choses que nous avons fait mais au cas où elle le rappelle). Nous sommes un couple de 40 ans absent toute la journée et soirée puisque nous sommes venus visiter. Je ne sais pas si elle pouvait avoir ni plus calme, ni plus propre comme client. Vraiment bizarre ses messages on aurait dit une mère autoritaire qui nous grondait. Heure du petit déjeuner 1er jour à choisir 8h, 8h30 ou 9h. 2eme jour imposé à 8h30. Rappelle ensuite à 10h le jour de départ par SMS que les départ se font à 11h et non 11h pile sinon pénalité de 15€ par personne (nous sommes partis à 10h30 pas de soucis mais on ne reviendra pas).

un accueil désastreux

La chambre est très bien placée, propre et sympa. Le petit déjeuner en chambre est très appréciable. Proche des restaurants et de la plage.

L'ACCUEIL! Une arrivée à 18H35 et un accueil assez militaire, un petit dej à 8h ou 8h30 pour un dimanche...bref on s'adapte sans problème...mais le départ fut une catastrophe...Deux messages à 10H30 et 10h40 pour demander de quitter la chambre à 11h (et non 11H pile). Nous descendons à 10h55 en respectant les contraintes restrictives que nous avons accepté évidemment mais la propriétaire n'était plus là! Nous redonnons les clés à sa fille et l'appel de la propriétaire fut de me dire que j'allais avoir un supplément de 15E par personne car je n'avais pas respecté l'heure de départ. Ce départ gâche forcément le sentiment général d'une belle chambre...On ne peut pas tout faire bien en multipliant les activités commerciales...ce n'est pas ce qu'on attend comme accueil dans une chambre d'hôte!

Splendido paesaggio, da vedere assolutamente

La posizione centrale (150 metri dalla spiaggia) è comoda per visitare il paese e per raggiungere le falesie. Il monolocale è piccolo (si fa fatica a farci stare 2 borsoni) ma dotato di quanto necessario e arredato con cura.

Padrona di casa un po' troppo rigida ma forse è dovuto ad esperienze non positive del passato. La descrizione dell'alloggio presente su Booking per il monolocale (vista sulla città e terrazza) non è corrispondente dato che dà sul retro della casa e lo spazio tra la porta d'ingresso e il muro di recinzione è di meno di 2 metri.

Schöne Unterkunft im wunderschönen Étretat

Die Lage ist super. Man kann von dort aus die Stadt und die umliegende Natur erkunden. Kostenpflichtige Parkplätze ganz nah. Günstigere Parkplätze sind mit einem kleinen Spaziergang zu erreichen. Die drei Zimmer befinden sich in der obersten Etage des historischen Hauses. Unten lebt die Familie. Es ist eher eine Pension als Hotel. Das Zimmer war sehr gemütlich eingerichtet. Es wurde auf Details geachtet. Das Bett ist sehr bequem. Frühstück wird aufs Zimmer geliefert. Vom Zimmer hat man eine schöne Aussicht zur Stadt.

Schade war, dass erst nach der Buchung die doch strikten Check-in Zeiten kommuniziert wurden. Davor und danach erhält man keinen Zugang mehr. Uns hatte es jetzt weniger betroffen, da wir eh schon viel früher in der Stadt waren. Auch das Frühstück war nur um 8 Uhr und 8:30 Uhr möglich. Die fehlende Tür zum Badezimmer sollte man vor Buchung berücksichtigen und sich überlegen, ob das für einen passt. Die Kommunikation mit der Vermieterin war schon sehr bestimmt. Es gibt eine Reihe an Regeln. Am Tag des Auscheckens wurden wir zwei Mal angerufen und zwei Nachrichten geschrieben, dass wir vor 11 Uhr auschecken müssen, sonst zahlen wir pro Person 15€. Mir persönlich hätte das eine Mal beim Einchecken gereicht und auf den Stress am Abreisetag hätte ich auch verzichten können.

Schöner Aufenthalt in Etretat

Liebevoll renovierte Dachgeschosswohnung. Gutes Frühstück, das im Zimmer serviert wurde. Zentrale Lage, dennoch ruhig. Gute Kommunikation mit der Gastgeberin, die auch gute Tipps für Unternehmungen gab.

Sehr enges Treppenhaus, ungünstig für großes Gepäck (2. Obergeschoss). Kein Kleiderschrank, nur Garderobe und 2 große Schubladen unter dem Waschbecken. Dusch-/Toilettenbereich nur durch Vorhang vom Wohnbereich getrennt, Lüftung nur über Zimmerfenster möglich.
