La Vista Fujikawaguchiko

It is a nice property with a beautiful onsen and staff was nice. It is far away from town though ($20.00 taxi ride) and doesn’t have a restaurant or bar where you can order basic food/ drinks. They offer a set dinner but it needs to be ordered ahead. It felt more like a dated Italian villa - again nice with decent amenities - just didn’t feel authentic to Japan or like a luxury hotel.

Favourite hotel on our month long Japan trip. Paid extra for the Fuji view with hot top and so worth it! The hotel Onsen was beautiful as was the breakfast and teppanyaki dinner. Great access to the lake, would recommend hiring a bike and spend a day riding around it.

We liked the view from our room, the lovely deep bath in our bathroom, the large, spacious bedroom suite we had and the evening drink and snack event offered each evening. The breakfast was very good too.

Be aware that if you walk up to the hotel from the village it's quite a steep slope.

La Vista Resort was an emergency booking after we had checked in at Hotel Koryu an hour earlier. While Koryu was a complete disappointment, La Vista proved a superb choice. Overlooking - actually looking straight at Mount Fuji you feel set in a Tuscany Winery or French Chateau. The room was humongous with an ensuite bathroom and a tub - again presenting the full beauty of Mount Fuji. Staff was super friendly, food was just way out excellent - I would definitely come again!
