Terrible experience

I could not access the key, which was meant to be in the keylock, but upon arrival the keylock was open and no key. I contacted the WhatsApp to report and it took 3 hours to get a response, of which no resolution was made, they did not come out, I was left looking for somewhere else to stay.

No timely response. Could not access facility. No lights in the car park.

Too dirty to stay there. Had to book somewhere else

We arrived in the evening. The place looked abandoned and rough. The hallway outside the rooms had ripped wallpaper and was grotty. The rooms were quirky, but the showers were dirty and mouldy. The wash hand basins had not been cleaned in a while. The bedding was old, had big stains on it in room 4, the sheets were dirty. It was disgusting. And didn't feel secure. We ended up booking somewhere else as myself and my family could not stay there. I knew it wasn't going to be luxury, but it was absolutely unacceptable. I want a refund to be honest. Basically, there was nothing to like

Worse experience ever

The property was like a haunted house

This is a very basic stay. But I would not go back

Booking. Com needs to do some serious work on looking into properties. Honestly I’m glad the door locked. The beds were made.. but it was just normal bedding. Nothing fancy which I expected

There were some plug sockets that didn’t work which wasn’t helpful. There was rubbish in the hallway which is really inconvenient as there is no staff on site.

Payed and not stayed

No one at place to check in! Confirmation email (with the room number and key code) arrived after 2 am. When I was to another hotel. Never never recommend!!

Tried to call many times! Emails. No answers. Spent 30 minutes to found someone for check in guides. 30+ with booking customer service 45min to wait cancellation confirmation and found another hotel.

It was cheap and well located, but not recommended for cleanliness

Location, really close to Stansted Airport, and cheap. Easy to find too, and parking was straightforward.

The shower was too dirty to use. The room didn't appear to have been cleaned and the previous occupants rubbish had been left behind. The entrance was poorly lit and the whole set up was a little intimidating for a solo female traveller. There was no coffee with the kettle either.

Welcome to cheap and dirty

Cheap is cheap...

Dirty bed sheets, pubic hairs stuck to the toilet, main door to the rooms is not secured anyone can enter, the first room (where I stayed) was once fractured and fixed with screws, it felt not only dirty to stay there but also very insecure. Mold all over the windows. The beds are >30 years old very uncomfortable. Dead mosquitoes all over the bathroom walls. Cleaning is definitely not included in the price. No one there to help, support over Whatsapp only until 10PM, then it's "good luck". Better pay the price and go to a real hotel.

Terrible

We was very disappointed it was abandoned place no lights was pitch black , the code they gave us for the rooms did not work , we been trying for mire then hours called the number they gave us for assistance but the phone was not in use we ended up staying in another hotel by this time it was past midnight these ppl are scam , I didn’t read any views but all views were bad I need a full refund, don’t know why booking.com letting ppl advertise in there website I have alway used booking .com never had this issue, this hotel was like a ghost town would never recommend this terrible place .

This place is horrible!

This place is very scary. The building is completely dark, the building is old and dilapidated. Entrance is open to everyone. The public contact phone is not in use. The phone is not working and the owner does not respond to messages sent on booking. Do not trust this place, the photo does not correspond to reality!

We did not stay we had to book another hotel disgusting place

Nothing we walked in and walked straight out. We had to book another hotel for that night. I cannot understand why booking.com would even advertise this property on their site.

It was freezing cold and very very dirty, the sheets were FILTHY like someone had just got out the bed all dribble stains on pillows and the mattress was full of stains. Bedside tables were full of grease don’t know when they had last seen a clean. The floors were filthy, shower toilet and sink were also dirty. We left immediately I would not let my dog stay there. We have used booking.com for years and travelled all over the world. This must be the WORST place ever!! Avoid at all costs. To continue to use booking. Com I would like a refund of our money.

Cosy, convenient and great value but could be improved

Beautiful old building with lots of character. Great location close to the airport. Comfy bed and lots of space. The room was warm and cosy with a wonderful fireplace.

Room description said was with a bath but there was not one and the shower was dirty with no shower gel or shampoo in the dispensers. The WiFi details on the door notice did not work. The bathroom was not clean in general and there was a lot of dust and spiderwebs in the bedroom and bathroom.

I didn't stay nobody was there the bar and restaurant were closed and in a filthy state. The rooms were only accessible by codes which I didn't have, the whole place was a con and a lie. Do not book hear its atrocious, I ended up in the Novotel which was Fantastic.

Horror, Avoid!!!

The worst experience in my life. The hotel itself its extremely dirty, the rooms are exactly like a grave, not even the linen wasn't clean, beds were dirty, i strongly not recommend it, avoid this hotel at all cost, rats, spiders, dirty, mould on the floor, the height of the rooms is 1,7 meters for real, i couldn't stay in the room for 5 minutes, i slept in the car instead as i didnt find another hotel. Absolutely nothing- this is a scam, not a hotel

It's a scam - it's an abandoned building doubling as a "hotel". No staff, no communication, filthy, run-down, basically a trap house. Would probably be safer to sleep on the street. We bailed immediately after seeing it

The conditions were unacceptable and did not meet basic standards of cleanliness or comfort. Specifically, I encountered several major issues:Lack of Hot Water: There was no warm water available during my stay. Poor Sanitation: The overall cleanliness was deplorable. The bathroom toilet had visible mold, and the accommodation was generally filthy.Unsanitary Bedding: The bed sheets were dirty and clearly had not been changed prior to my arrival.These issues are not only deeply disappointing but also a health concern.

The owners got in touch with us so they had good communication We needed somewhere to stay for a few hours so it was good for what we needed it for but it still could have been better with toiletries and cleanliness

Dirty!

The cottage style and decor is lovely

The most disappointing was the cleanliness of the room, the bedsheets, duvet cover and pillow cover were not clean, they seemed even used, with stains all over. Very disgusting. Only one towel for 2 people was given, which was in the same condition as the sheets. In the room there was dust and both the sink and toilet were not really clean.

Sleeping under a bridge would have been a better experience

Not a single positive thing. This stay was hell, avoid at all costs, despite the cheap price, it doesn’t even reach the minimum hotel standard. It was absolutely terrible. The people in charged should be ashamed of how mediocre the experience was. It could have been a reality show or a hidden camera prank I would have still been better.

- No Towels or carpet - WiFi NOT working - No Staff, 100% self check in, emergency numbers stops at 10pm so can’t ask for a towel, even in the morning, there was no one. - Bed sheet NOT changed from the previous person, still had hair in the bed, absolutely disgusting. - bathroom DISGUSTING - Fire Alarm beeping loudly every 3 minutes I had to turn it off. - I guess the manager or security person came to check the alarm, the person attempted to open the door and enter the room without knocking or announcing themselves This place is ran by people who should not be qualified for hospitality and it certainly doesn’t meet nor hygiene or business practices standards.

Would never book again

Not much room to move around the room, phone signal is terrible and WiFi doesn't work. I need a signal to get work for following day so l emailed the host about it and never got a response plus the phone number doesn't work. Pub was closed looks abandoned.

The ”hotel” seemed deserted when we arrived. No sign of life and very very uncomfortable feeling about the whole place. The bed sheets were dirty, the floor wasn’t hoovered and the bathroom was disgusting.

We couldn't sleep in the room. We had to book another hotel for the night. Because the room were unkept and very dusty. There wasn't pillow case on the pillows, the pillows were smelling so bad. The fan on the bedside is full of dust. The duvet was smelling. The floor were dusty. The tea maker and mugs were dirty. The window were dusty.

Close to the airport

We stayed just one night cause we had an early flight. It took only 10 minutes to get to the airport from here by a bus so the location was great! The room was okay for a short stay — it had a bedroom and a bathroom. Easy to find and easy to get in. It also had a tv.

The room didn't have a fridge or any knives or forks, just a water boiler. Also, the shower was a bit broken, and the bed cover had a hole in it. This is an old building so the floor was sunken and you could hear the people walking in the corridor. It was still okay for a short stay!
