Value for money accommodation in a good location

Value for money accommodation and a good location near to Nottingham Castle. Clean room and facilities. Building and surrounding area quiet to provide a good nights sleep.

Rip off

Meticulously clean and comfortable

Far too many restrictions. I was hassled by reception 3 times prior to arrival on check in day. Not a welcoming start. Having to leave debit card details as surety against damages is not welcoming either, and now the property have emailed me to say the card will be charged a penalty fee for late check out. We checked out before 11, which is fine with all other booking.com hotels we've used, and we clearly were not holding anything up. The rooms are not cheap., and then to be charged extra without consent is disgraceful

Enjoyable stay.

Very comfortable room in Nottingham city centre, close to all attractions. Was a bonus to have a kettle, plus tea, coffee an milk condiments. Would definitely stay again.

didn't get past check- in

Paid in full for employees who intended to stay the night for work purposes. Hotelier (Manager) refused access stating that they needed the card holders card and Id. As a company owner I live over 200 miles away, this was not possible, hence paying in full prior to their arrival. Manager accused me of using a "fake telephone number " after stating he had tried to make contact. I have no missed calls from any Nottingham telephone numbers, nor any voicemails or emails. manager was rude and obnoxious, terrible customer service and will not be boking their again.

Very close to city centre, affordable, comfortable and clean.

When we arrived we were greeted by a gentleman, he handed me paperwork to fill in, the thrust a card machine at me and told me I had to pay a £50 deposit. This isn’t in any of their terms of business. He then showed us to our room and stated that it’s an old building and to be careful with the locks, if they break, you lose your deposit.

Additional £50 deposit required, cheaper parking down the road but good location

The location was close.

Misleading advertising – the online listing stated “free parking,” but upon arrival we were charged £20. I’ve noticed this has since been updated online after I pointed it out, but we specifically booked this place because of the advertised free parking. There is cheaper and safer parking available just down the road. Additionally, a £50 deposit was required on arrival, despite the room being paid for in advance, and the deposit takes 5–7 days to be returned to your bank account. The Wi-Fi was also terrible and none existent at times, making it difficult to use for work or streaming.

Literally nothing. I liked the inaccurate photos online and the 'probably' fake reviews.

The place smelt so bad. The smell hits you as soon a you walk through the door. The smells continues even into your room. The bed was a kids size ben my feet were hanging off the end and I'm only an average sized guy. There was no sink in the toilet, it was outside across the room on the other side which i found to be disgusting. The shower was blocked and flooded during each shower. the Bed mattress was so bad sleeping rough would be better, They said online they had onsite parking, I even emailed them after the booking to confirm the parking. No one got back to me. When i arrived it turns out its a lie and there is no site parking. I had to park up to ask where it the parking was as i couldn't find it. when i was told there was none-i went back to my car to find i was given a parking fine. I travelled for my Graduation ceremony and this hotel made it at awful experience.

Do not stay here

I booked these for 2 young people who were down for a business trip they didn't stay at the property after feeling unsafe due to the host on the day.

The host on the day was rude and very confrontational I don't know if he was having a bad day or had taken something but I will be requesting a refund and asking booking.com to remove them of the website. He snatched and grabbed at my female colleagues work card and seemed to want to start conflict. Sadly this put my 2 young people on edge and I had to book another hotel. I will also send an email to the manager of the property explaining the events word for word to ensure they are well aware of the events that happened that day

Good value for money, clean and good location.

I placed a booking on price, but then read some differences in reviews. Delighted to find tat the bathroom was not shared as some reviews suggested, but was just a couple of yards down the corridor and was for sole use of my room. Location was. Brilliant, and cleanliness was exemplary. Excellent value for money.

The cramped entrance didn't give a good initial impression, with the proprietor retreating upstairs to get additional paperwork. I was travelling on my own, and ad I been carrying luggage or accompanied the entrance would not have helped.

Disappointing with lots of undisclosed hidden fees they threaten you with

The bed was comfy and the location was ideal for what we went to Nottingham for.

There's a hidden fee that they don't tell you about. When we entered, I was forced to pay a £50 fee which would only be returned if they didn't find any faults with our room after our stay. They also rang the day before to tell us if we didn't check in by a certain time we would be charged an extra fee of an undisclosed amount. When we arrived and had the keys, they told us they let in drunks that may cause problems as it was a Friday night and told us if we didn't use the locks they installed properly there was a chance we could be locked out of the room and be charged for the locksmith. The TV in the room didn't work.

I did not feel safe because the receptionist was hostile and couldn’t speak English.

The receptionist was hostile, could not speak English and was very rude . He kept me waiting for more than 2 hours and asked me to deposit 40£ which has not be refunded after about a month.

Couldn’t shower myself.

The room was fine and clean. No issue with the bathroom being across the hall but NO or barely any hot water and running at a trickle in the shower then went freezing cold then came back on warm but never any decent pressure. Also no wall mount to hold the shower head. So had to hold it in my hand the whole time.

Pleasant stay

The hotel is more of a maisonette, with rooms on the first and second floor. My room was nice and spacious, facing the street and equipped with desk/chair and clothes rail. It's located on a small hill near the castle.

I read about the requirements to pay a deposit on arrival and necessary pre-notification of arrival time in other reviews, so this didn't come as a surprise and were acceptable. The hotel's toilet system is called saniflow and doesn't allow for any items to be flushed, making it quite noisy when it needs to repeat the suction, especially at night when my neighbour used their bathroom.
