St James Hotel; BW Premier Collection

The staff were excelllent under the circumstances

When we booked the stay we were not informed of the refurbishment

The location is excellent, just a short walk from Nottingham city centre and ideal for both business and leisure. The hotel was clean, the bed was very comfortable, and the reception staff were friendly, apologetic and quick to resolve any issues, including arranging a refund for services that were no longer available. Despite the ongoing changes, I would still consider staying here again because the location is hard to beat.

The hotel is currently in the middle of changing ownership and undergoing renovations, so some advertised facilities were no longer available despite being included when we booked, such as room amenities and extras we'd paid for. The breakfast was disappointing for the price, with slow service and limited value. The newly renovated room also felt a little clinical compared to previous visits, and the shower drainage wasn't working properly, causing water to build up during use.

Staff are very friendly and helpful. Room is adequate. Comfortable, clean and with sufficient power points. I have stayed before and I will stay again. Location is excellent for restaurants in the evenings.

Shower over bath drooped and wouldn’t stay in position. Room was far too hot, even with fan on full all night. Weather was very hot and room needed air conditioning.

Fab location. The room was as appointed as I expected The refillable water bottles were a very nice touch. Great water pressure The French (?) lass at reception was wonderful.

I mean, it is fairly run down. Functional for sure, but it requires quite a refurb. It is largely aesthetic though, and i suspect thats why it's reasonably priced. The tiled bathrooms are nearly mosaic at this point. Not the quietest room, but I don't expect silence in a central location,
