Clean, spacious, and well-located with a great host.

The place was perfect — clean, spacious, and conveniently located near public transportation. Kai, the host, was super nice and helpful. Definitely a great place to stay for a few days in Basel.

Comfortable room in a great location

The accommodations were comfortable and welcoming. Kai was extremely helpful and patient with us as we tried to find our way around the city. We would probably return.

The locks were really noisy during the night but that's to be expected in an older house. We tried to be quiet.

Our stay at Guesthouse Casa Esperanza in Basel was unforgettable!

Everything! Kai was the most gracious and accommodating host you could ever imagine. He provided so many extra supplies that one might need while traveling and made sure that all our needs we met, including umbrellas, raincoats and shopping bags if needed. The room was spacious and bed very comfortable. We shared a bathroom, which turned out to be no inconvenience whatsoever. We highly recommend Guesthouse Casa Esperanza in Basel and hope you take advantage of Kai’s wonderful hospitality.

The location was in a quiet neighbourhood, with a short walk to supermarkets, some shops, and trams and buses. Kai was very helpful, and attentive, and made our stay very enjoyable.

Excellent place to stay in Basel

Comfy bed and lovely hosts! It was great having a ticket to use the public transport and the host let us borrow their dry bags to swim down the river. The room was well stocked with coffee and tea and the bathroom with toiletries. We had a wonderful stay!

Perfect room, especially if you need a kitchen

The host is very nice and helpful. Everything is clean and you can see they take great pride in their accomodation. Although we didn't cook, we noticed that the kitchen was well equipped, including with consumables such as oil, vinegar, soap, sugar, etc... Very close to both the city center (by tram) and the airport (by bus).

Loved staying here, it exceeded my expectations. Kai was my host and he had everything organized and well layed out and had a great attitude. Facilities were in excellent shape and was very clean

Only thing I didn't care for was the location but it was still close enough for everything and the room and good service made up for that

Awesome place to stay in Basel

The host Kai was super helpful, walked us through everything we needed to know. The room was spacious and the kitchen had everything one might need. Although we were sharing a bathroom with another room, we had no problem at all, we barely even saw a person from another room. The place is right next to the public stop and you get it for free with the stay. The neighborhood was charming, we felt like we were locals :)

Everything was great. There was no ac, which we knew when we were reserving the place. But even in the hottest time in July with the fan that was provided, it wasn't a problem.

Host very friendly and helpful made check in super easy. Not far from tram line. Bed was good. good value for the area.

shower floods the floor (just has a shower curtain). place itself was clean But towels smelt damp and cups had lipstick marks on it.

Exceptional

An apartment that was well stocked in the kitchen. It was like home away from home and was so comfortable. Kai explained everything clearly and ensured we knew if we needed anything that we knew where we can get him. I travel to Basel a lot, this was an excellent find. Kai, you and Bea do a fantastic job with this place.

the host was kind and super helpful. The room had everything we needed and the shared bathroom was clean. The location was close to a tram stop that takes you to the center or the station.

in-front of our room window there was a table outside where people would smoke. At night when we laid in bed our room smelled strongly and same when we woke up in the morning.

We really liked Kai and his mother. They were very nice and gave us a lot of information about the city. The room was clean and cosy. The location of the house is close to public transport and also to the city center.

Perfect stay for a family with children

We ordinarily prefer hotels to apartments, but this time my wife and I traveled with children, so we tried our luck with this apartment, and we were extremely satisfied with our choice and our host, Kai. This apartment has every little thing you could need, including a lot of toys for children. It is close to all of the public transportation stations you will need, as well as a few restaurants and shops.

Great hospitality and value

Kai was really helpful and spoke excellent English, and it was easy to communicate with him about my arrival time etc. Everything was very clean and the room had all I needed and was bigger than I expected. Seemed good value for Switzerland! Easy to walk into town and also very close to a tram stop for getting to the train station etc.

The bathroom was shared with another room and is directly between the rooms. This meant there was quite a lot of noise with the other room using the bathroom (but very minor point and okay with ear plugs).

The place was comfortable and super clean. Kitchen was incredibly well stocked and Kai was very friendly and helpful. The location is great and very walkable in terms of accessing most places in the city.

Basel as a city is a little expensive in general, but that's no fault of my hosts.

Very friendly and helpful staff, some nice amenities as well. Good localization (the city centre is easily reachable on foot, not far away from bus to the airport either). Nice choice of tea too!

The only very minor thing I would suggest is providing stronger bags for garbage, as they were of, well, garbage quality. ;) They were super thin and delicate and tore really easily.

Perfect Basel apartment with easy access to the Old City.

This charming apartment was just perfect for our stay in Basel before a river cruise. it was spotless and had all the perfect amenities. It's in a quiet residential neighborhood. We sat out on the balcony each afternoon and drank wine. the apartment is a quick walk to the tram line into the old town, or it's about a 15 minute easy walk. A transportation card is included, so you just jump on trams or buses without worrying about buying a ticket. The best feature is Kai, who lives in the building and helps manage the apartment. He was amazingly helpful and was available quickly. He helped me figure out why I couldn't open the washer door (I didn't press the button labeled Tur (door)). This was a perfect apartment for our needs.

The room was really big enough. The bed was large. There were beverages such as tea and coffee in the room. I really liked the room. Wifi is good enough.

The location is not close enough to the old city. It is easy to reach by tram but it is almost 20 minutes on foot. Other than that nothing negative.
