The Cove is located in a beautiful and quiet bay, away from the busy centre of Phi Phi. The beachfront setting is very scenic and peaceful, especially in the mornings. We also enjoyed the hike into Phi Phi town on our first day — it’s a fun walk with nice views, just be careful of the monkeys along the way.
When my boyfriend became ill on the second day, the hotel was helpful and provided medication on site, which we appreciated.
Unfortunately, our stay was significantly impacted by my boyfriend getting severly ill on the 3rd day. While we cannot say for certain what caused it, being unwell in a small bamboo bungalow was quite uncomfortable and th bathroom has no real ventilation. The bed is not particularly comfortable, and spending a full day inside the bungalow is not ideal.
The restaurant is decent but overpriced for what is offered. Breakfast is very basic, which we expected, but overall the value for money felt limited.
Communication was sometimes difficult. Only a handful of staff members speak strong English, which led to confusion on the morning my boyfriend got sick. We had booked a boat trip and I informed reception via the WhatsApp contact at 4 AM about the emergency. Unfortunately, the message was not read, staff kept knocking on our door in the morning after we had been up all night, and we were charged 50% of the booking. We understood the policy, but perhaps a 24-hour reception or more responsive communication could have helped avoid the situation.
The remote location is peaceful, but if you want to experience Phi Phi at night, this is not the ideal place to stay.

The property is very beautiful and an ideal place for tranquility and relaxation.
The only way to reach the property is via boat and the shuttle boat service is not complementary for a stay less than 7 days. This means that unless you pay for the shuttle boat to take you to the nearest pier, you are practically stranded on the property.

The hotel was very clean, comfortable, and relaxing. The staff were welcoming and always ready to help, and the overall atmosphere made our stay enjoyable. The rooms were well maintained and the view was beautiful
I enjoyed my stay at the hotel, but one area for improvement would be transportation. I suggest adding a marina for the hotel to enhance accessibility and convenience for guests with boats

The view from the room is beautiful and very peaceful. The setting is scenic and surrounded by nature. I also want to give credit to the staff for responding to my concern about the room type upon arrival. We initially received a family room with two large beds instead of the king-size bed we booked as a couple. After raising the issue, they switched us to a room that looked closer to the pictures (although still not exactly the same).
The property is located in a very remote area, and this is something guests should know clearly in advance. The only complimentary boat transfer is the one from the pier to the hotel at arrival and back at departure. Any additional boat ride to the main island (for excursions, activities, or even just going out) must be paid separately — even if you are taking the same scheduled boat that is already going to the main pier in Phi Phi Island.
The hotel promotes a group island tour, but when we tried to book it, we were told it was unavailable. The only option offered was a private tour at more than four times the price per person. In the end, we had to pay for boat transfers to the main pier to arrange our own excursion, and the cost for the two of us amounted to nearly half the price of the original group tour.
The beach is extremely rocky. When the tide is low, swimming becomes difficult and even unsafe because of the sharp rocks and rough water conditions.
The food quality was below the usual Thai standards, which was disappointing.
While I understand that logistics on an island are challenging, many other hotels in similar locations manage to offer better value for money without adding multiple additional costs for basic mobility.

The longboats are charming to look at but the engines are crazy loud so be prepared to be woken early with a motorcycle like sound in your bedroom. Also the tide comes in and is very loud at night and the beach disappears for 2 hours each day. The bed was so hard I got bruises on my hips.

Cabin was nice
Staff was very helpful
Main area was dated
The breakfast was average with limited choices . Limited transfers with resort long boat and no other options

The bed was very hard

The personnel went out of their way to make my husbands birthday a memorable dinner.
The bamboo beachfront hut was simple lovely, you could hear the waves rolling in while in bed. It was clean and tidy.
Beware, you have to step into and off a longtailboat and when arriving at the accommodation, you might get wet just above the knees. They help you get in and out, but for people with disabilities, it might be challenging.

Amazing bungalow. Beach front had exceptional view. In spoiled part of the island with bungalows tastefully nestled into hillside. Staff and food good.
Bed torturous, Rock hard! Asked for topper, nothing available. Lack of bedside tables.

Arriving by Longtail-boat to The Cove was amazing. Super friendly and helpful staff, and the views are absolutely insane. The beach bungalow was literally right on the beach, and provided unobstructed views of the Andaman sea.
The food in the restaurant could be better, and the pressure in the shower could absolutely use an upgrade - but these are minor details. Be aware that if you want to explore Phi Phi, this might not be the best place to stay as you are quite remote and you have to take a taxiboat which can be expensive and stop before midnight.

I have traveled to many places around the world and the Cove Phi Phi Hotel has been one of my favorites, because of its location in front of the beach and its beautiful surrounding vegetation, which gives a feeling of peace and relaxation.
No complaints

The staff were lovely, but unfortunately that's the only positive.
The location. Bad on my behalf for not doing proper research, but I didn't realise that the accomodation was only accessible by boat. Did the hike to town, would not recommend even if you're young and fit like our group. The beach is also not very nice, bit of rubbish and lots of sea urchins so you have to be careful. The whole resort needs an uplift. Would never stay here again.

Only the view, have to say the beach is really dirty and bottle glasses around the sand
Very low security the way to go from the port if there is bad weather. We really thought we were about to have an accident in the boat.
Room Full of cockroaches and you can feel rats. We found around 15 cockroaches and we only stayed for 2 nights.
You can not sleep because the boats in front of you. They start using them very early in the morning and sometimes during the night to park them. Seriously very noisy you feel you have them inside your room.
They only let you go to the centre 3 times a day and paying 200 bats x way.
You feel trapped there.
You booked a private tour and the motor of the boat was broken. They took us from the middle of the see and brought to the hotel. They seem like they didn’t know what happened, after we had to ask for a little discount and finally the gave us back 1100 bats, but that was not a real compensation comparing on what we were experiencing.
Stuff in the restaurant was nice though, also the guys who carries the bags very helpful.
There is a small store where you can buy basic things, and really expensive in consideration you don’t have another option.
We paid 270 euros for 2 nights.
Finally, you don't pay 135 euros a night to sleep surrounded by rats.

This hotel is in a middle of the jungle, it’s really nice to be far away from the centre of Koh phi phi and be surrounded by nature. The workers are super nice and really care about you and your journey there.
There is a lot of choices for the breakfast: Thai food, eggs on your way, bread, spreads, fruits; no need to have a lunch after that ahah. And the restaurant during the day and night is really good as well and the portion are pretty big.
Everything was great ! You just have to be aware that you can access the hotel only by taxi boat so it’s gonna be a little budget to travel around if you don’t want to walk by the forest.

Very friendly staff, especially the buggy driver we had and the wonderful man with the north face bucket hat who was very lovely.
The location is amazing, out of the hustle and bustle of the main Phi Phi area. It was just calm, relaxing and peaceful to be in the jungle and near the sea.
Would be ideal to have plug sockets nearer the beds, but can appreciate that can’t always happen.
And the shower/water pressure was quite low.

Bed was a bit small length wise and we are quite short

The view was heavenly! Loved it. They provided boat shuttle to and from Tonsai pier which was great.
The property needs proper maintenance. The bedsheet was not properly cleaned, hand shower faucet was leaky in our room. The breakfast menu was okay.

This is a relatively small and cozy resort. The bamboo bungalow next to the beach is perfect for a young couple. Our favorite is the house on the top of the hill, more comfortable and spacious, suitable for an older couple. Don't worry about walking up and down - the hotel provides a comfortable and fast electric car.
The staff is very friendly and helpful. The restaurant is excellent, try the local fish, the sea bass is just great.
Perfect for young couples looking for a secluded and cozy place.
Nothing, all is great

If anyone is searching to stay in phi phi and reading this review just book it right now. I had an absolutely wonderful stay at The Cove on Phi Phi Island. The property is a little secluded, away from the main pier, which makes it even more special. The views are absolutely breathtaking, some of the best I’ve seen in Thailand. The room was upgraded and had a gorgeous view, making my stay even more memorable. The staff—especially Ain, Lala, chocho, and Piu—were incredibly welcoming and caring. They even played with my one-year-old child, which added such a personal touch.
The property arranged some great activities like tours to Maya Bay and nearby islands, which were stunning. They also provided snorkeling gear and kayaks, all of which I made good use of to explore the beautiful coral reefs. The whole experience was unforgettable, and I’m definitely planning to come back to Phi Phi Island and stay at The Cove again. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a serene and beautiful getaway.

Place is beautiful lovely room right on beach, only thing is and I know they have to do it was a building work out on balcony listing to grinding hammering, just wish hotel had said there work there next door and could have offered another room further away as place was empty, but breakfast staff good, just shame listening to grinding all day
Breakfast food good beautiful view
6.0 / 10.0
The views were fantastic and that’s the main selling point of the place, the rest well…
The staff in the reception and restaurant weren’t very helpful or proactive so the service really lacked. Boat staff, lovely and helpful though, can’t fault them at all.
The path up to the viewpoint is more a bush bash climb that a walk or hike. Lots of fallen trees so you don’t quite know where you are going. Would be helpful for it to be cleared and have some signs along the way. We got quite distressed and I wouldn’t overly recommend doing it alone. We love to walk so thought we would walk into the centre a bit but because of the path we had to get the boats which is very very costly.
The food was nice but very overpriced, to be expected in a capped market.
The rooms were beyond hot. The aircon didn’t work and when we asked for help to fix it they just bashed the buttons and called it a day. Neither of us slept during our stay.
There was work being done during the whole of our stay so it was noisy so not really a peaceful stay at all.
Looking back now 6/10 is maybe too generous of a rating.

Nice views, a nice place to relax.
first of all some of the staff (reception staff) was dismissing us every time we tried to speak to them. secondly the food was not up to standards of the price we payed and took a while to arrive as well as the breakfast was not great especially how much we payed for this stay. another major issue was that we had to pay to do anything kayaking was expensive and there was no one to help us when we got back also to go the main part was 200 baht each person each way so cost us nearly £20 just for the transport this meant we was forced to stay in as we are on a budget. This made the night very boring as they did not provide any entertainment. for the price of this place you expect free transport to and from the pier. another note is the littering it felt like the water was dirty there was many bottles and cans in the water and beach. as for the room even with air con it was really hot and hard to sleep especially as the bed was really small. i can’t believe i spent £75 a night on this it was really not worth it. especially as we were celebrating a birthday. there was 0 communication when the boat was going to come and had to wait in the rain for an extra half hour when we payed a lot of money to get there and back. there was also a tiny over priced shop there which wasn’t very useful as it had 0 change! i wouldn’t stay here again and i expected more or would of thought these issues would have been highlighted in the description as we would not of stayed here.

The view was awsome
1 the shower head was dirty
2 the dinner menu was smelly and sticky. Both of the ones they gave us.
3 there where no massages available
4 the night before we stayed at the relax beach resort 5 minutes away but we had to go all the way back to the pier to wait there for the pickup.
5 the vibe was not warm and welcome. Staff could be more friendly and open

The location is truly amazing, from the water and from the site. Beach is very nice, and all the views.
Even though the view are amazing and the beach itself, this place is nothing for a long stay, you will starve, since food is absolutely non eatable. Breakfast extremely poor, food on the menu came as everything was frozen and just heated. Super bad, really bad. Would not like to repeat it.

Loved the secluded spot overlooking the sea.
Nothing at all. Loved it all.

The view was gorgeous. Waking up for the sunrise was pretty special. I can’t state enough how beautiful the view is!
Quiet and peaceful. Very tranquil.
Food was good. Drinks were also good. Staff were friendly.
Was a bit tired.
Brown bedding was a little off putting.
The cove is full of sea urchins.
We saw another couple ask if it was safe. Receptionist said yes just mind the boats. Might have been good to mention the sea urchins too though!
A restaurant which was pretty quiet only a couple of people in the evening. We enjoyed it but could see for longer than one night it would be pretty boring. No evening entertainment.
The boats would rack up money wise to get back and forth! It’s about 20mins to get to the cove on the boat. You land in water so make sure you bring shoes which you can take off easily.

Beach was fantastic. About 20/25 min boat journey. Staff were lovely and helpful. Food was lovely and what a view. A little bit of paradise.
Room was tiny and we had bamboo floor boards, very hard to walk on. I just found it very claustrophobic so had to leave early. If you don't mind tight spaces its a dream.
9.0 / 10.0
The property was unique and remote with lots to do at reasonable prices
The boats start early in the mornings
3.0 / 10.0
The location and garden
On arrival our room was allocated , dirty sheets and a stained valence was clearly visible, the room was very tired and the bathroom was underwhelming. We were given another bungalow, there was an improvement , but the room was tired, no places to put bags , no where to hang clothes or towels only cable ties which in my opinion is unacceptable. only one chair in the room, incredibly basic for the price. Laundry was washed and folded beautifully but I have since found that an expensive strapless bra was missing from my clothes .
The restaurant / reception building was in need of a full make over, breakfast was less than adequate, and to add insult to injury there were diggers working on foundations for an obvious expansion. I tried to contact to contact you ( booking .com ) on a number of times requesting assistance, but I guess I was out of site and out of mind , incredibly frustrating and disappointing, I am still waiting a reply .

Noi and all the staff were really helpful and friendly. The location is like a piece of paradise.
6.0 / 10.0
Loved the bamboo bungalows, more or less walked out on to the beach.
Staff were really friendly and helpful.
Lovely clean beach compared to the main part of Phi Phi
Very quiet during the day if thats your preference
Little bit too far away from the main hub of Phi Phi, the resort charges for transport over to the main part of Phi Phi. Not really dooable at night, so a little quiet for us.
We had really noisy neighbours on the last night shouting and screaming until 4am, there were no staff on site to deal with it, out knocks on the wall were ignored.
Food was ok in the restaurant, but there is only one so no choice.
We booked a full day private boat trip, very young lad took us, about 16/17, not friendly, not offered water as advertised and didn't tell us where we were when we arrived at a location, when we asked to finish the trip early as it was a bit deflating, he couldn't understand us, even with Google translate.
We had the beach bungalow next to the office/restaurant shop felt a little bit instrusive with people coming and going and dropping luggage.
It wasn't a bad experience, it was nice to get away from the main village, but wouldn't go back to this particular resort
6.0 / 10.0
I liked the location, it was far from the touristic noise, i liked that there were boats taking us from the main port and same for check out, as it is the only way to get to this accommodation. The staff was very friendly and willing to help.
The Beach Bungalow where we stayed was not good finished. There were insects coming inside the room and even lizards. The room was not very clean. On the toilet were ants. No table or wardrobe on which to put your clothes in the room. The food at the restaurant was not too good either and the breakfast options were limited. Also, unfortunately there is not too many to be done there, besides staying on the beach, so 2 nights are enough to stay there.

Nothing
To start off, I have travelled extensively though 61 countries. I always base my reviews on value vs cost.
This place managed to charge us THB6000/night. Id expext something a bit more special for that.
On arrival to the main pier we approached the person with the cove transfer sign. He directed us to one of his collages who promptly ripped us off for THB1200; transfer was supposed to be THB200ea
The room was a disgrace; worn with a terrible bed. AC was barely up to scratch to cool the room. Bathroom was work in progress with a large concrete area doing nothing. Base of the shower was raised ready to break your ankles.
Dining area and breakfast. Distgusting, see pics. Dining area is dirty, unkept and plainly uninviting.
Beach; looked wonderful on the website. I figured who needs a pool with a beach like that? Reality is very different. Apart from a small channel cleared for the long boats, the entire beach and waterline is covered in sharp rocks and infested by hundreds of spiky sea urchins. Neigh on impossible to enjoy a swim
Rest of the beach is useless. To top things off, right next to the resort is a demolition site with heavy machinery operating all day
No option to go anywhere else bar long boat
We were so disappointed we stayed one night and left forfeiting 4 nights accommodation
Never ever have I been so disappointed in a booking
Booking.com should take this lot off their website.
Strongly discourage anyone to stay at this place

Setting was lovely, warm welcome, food nice.
Our garden villa didn’t have great view (just straight onto back of facility building, but we didn’t complain about it).
