Very nice property, the room we stayed in “la chambre des ecuries “ was lovely, very clean, well decorated, the bathroom was good and a good shower, the bed was extremely comfortable, very peaceful setting, we would highly recommended to stay

A great experience for those wanting to spend a night or two in a troglodyte cave. Céline and Stève, the hosts, are warm, welcoming and accommodating. The breakfast was outstanding and served on a little patio outside the room. There’s a communal coffee machine, microwave and fridge if you’ve brought your own food/drink. Clearly a lot of thought and love has gone into making the caves habitable and comfortable, with a great history (in French) of the rooms in a booklet in the rooms - worth noting that the nature of the caves means a dehumidifier needs to be kept running (although can be turned off overnight which is good as it’s noisy) and the bathroom is fairly basic (but perfectly usable). We stayed during the heatwave (40 degrees when we arrived) but the caves are naturally cool so we didn’t stay hot!
Nothing - it was a great experience overall. The bedroom (we were in le pressoir) and bathroom aren’t separated by a door so lacking some privacy. Wi-fi is patchy but 5G worked well if you need the internet.

Quirky place to stay, we were in a very comfortable wooden cabin, nice and clean
I think 17.30 is a rather late check in, the property is rather out of the way, but it was nice and quiet

What fun to stay in a cave room with chiseled stone all around. The front of the cave bedroom opens onto a charming garden sitting area. Very cozy.

The breakfast was excellent. The accommodation is very near Loches which is a very interesting town which makes a two day stay essential. The hosts were very friendly and helpful. The accommodation is unusual being in a cave.
Nothing.

This was a fascinating overnight experience. The welcome was warm and friendly, with an interesting explanation of the history of the caves - and in really good English fortunately, because our French isn't very good.
We found a welcoming local bar (but only serving food at lunchtime) and a pizzeria nearby - our pizzas were very good indeed. To find other restaurants would have meant a drive back to Loches - and we had driven far enough....
The breakfast was superb!
Thank you both for your hospitality

This is a unique and very special place to stay
Beautiful outside garden space
Private on site parking
Exceptional hosts ( both English speakers )
Option of a lovely breakfast
It is an experience not to be missed. The transformation of the cave is breathtaking. All the work has been done by the owners. Beats hotels or b&b’s hands down.

Les Troglos de Beaulieu is a beautiful property with exceptional hosts. The breakfast each morning was absolutely outstanding, and we loved the morning community as we planned our day to come. Celine is an amazing cook, and so knowledgeable about Loches and the surrounding area. Steve steered us to a new favorite restaurant and gave excellent walking directions into town. I also really like that there is a locking gate (you’ll get a key!), so the whole property feels very safe and secure.
Everything was great; it would be an added bonus to have WiFi in the rooms, but that’s not necessarily good for holiday.

The host was kind enough to book a table at a local restaurant for us.
The breakfast was formulaic, a pot of coffee & fresh fruit would have been appreciated.
Asked to return to pay local tax 2 euros.40 - which had at no time been requested during our stay. Now having to pay from UK.

The unusual setting. We learned a little about living in or under stone. Our hosts were exemplary. Breakfast was fabulous. Our hosts also had booked a table for us at a lovely local restaurant.
Absolutely nothing! It was a delight and a privilege.

Its location and superb facilities….even a swimming pool. Very large room, beautifully decorated with lovely modern ensuite. Conservatory restaurant with outside tables too was modern and very attractive. Safe, gated parking.
Staff were helpful and friendly at all times.
Our restaurant meal was excellent and value for money. Couldn’t fault anything. Will visit again.

Stayed in a cave! How cool is that? An artificial one, but built right into the rock. This area of France (Loire Valley) has many "troglodyte" dwellings, shops and museums. The room had a separate sitting area, with books and tourist info. There was a dehumidifier to keep the place cool. I liked the extra touch of the sign outside my room that had my name and "Bienvenue" (welcome). The hosts were a lovely young couple. The man took the time not only to come get me on his bike when I got lost (see below), but also to make a reservation for me at a recommended local restaurant; most importantly, he showed me how to use the GPS in my car, which the car rental company could not be bothered to do. This was a game-changer for the rest of my trip. If you're visiting the chateaux of the Loire (Loches is the nearest one. but Amboise and Blois not far) and want something truly different, with great hospitality, this is it. Highly recommend.
Nothing. My car's GPS wasn't working, and without Wifi or Internet, I couldn't access the maps I'd uploaded to my Android. I got lost trying to find the place, but was able to call, and the host came out on his bike to meet me and guide me to my lodging.

We were two families with one child each and were in the cave room (2 adults + 2 kids) and the cabin. Both rooms were quirky and full of character, particularly the cave room. Our host Steve took us through all the history of the quarries and explained how him and his wife Celine had turned them into a B&B and done a lot of the work themselves - all very interesting. The cave room had a lovely fireplace in a lounge-like area. The cabin was very nice and self-contained with a toilet and shower. The beds were comfy and we had a very good night's sleep. The breakfast space and the breakfast were outstanding. Celine and Steve are incredibly friendly and welcoming. The neighbouring town Loches is magnificent and worth a visit.
The outside spaces were a little bit tired and the plants were in need of some love. The furniture and fittings were appropriate but basic - I personally would have liked a little bit more luxury in the furniture and linens, etc. This is not a complaint at all because we enjoyed our stay very much. The immediate area around the property itself is quite unremarkable.

Loved the location and walk over to Loches for dinner. Very friendly and helpful hosts. A unique expérience to stay in a cave house.
If I’m being picky the steps to the upstairs bedroom very steep. A bistro set in the private garden might have been more comfortable than the pallet seats.

the way stève welcome me ( though I came a bit late), he took the time to give all necessary information about the room and the place and he recommended restaurants ( and gave me a map). The place is surprising. My room ( les écuries) was lovely.

The experience of staying in a cave was absolutely unique, comfortable, and very pleasant. We loved being able to stroll to the beautiful city of Loches. Our hosts were super helpful and took very good care of us. Our breakfasts were homemade and very tasty. Parking was easy and included. There were several conveniently-located picnic tables. right outside the gate. We loved our stay!

We had to leave before breakfast was served but the host kindly made up a special breakfast which we helped ourselves to prior to departure. Delicious.
