Amazing villa, stunning view, great service!

This villa was absolutely exceptional from start to finish. The rooms were huge, beautifully designed, and incredibly comfortable. Bathrooms were also massive, clean and loved the outdoor bathtub! The pool was stunning, and the view overlooking the rice fields was amazing! What really set this place apart, though, was the service. The team was always friendly and helpful, responded incredibly quickly, and answered every question we had with genuine care. The villa is tucked away down a back road but they provide a shuttle service which was super handy and they dropped and collected us from the centre(5 mins) every day without fail - sometimes multiple times a day! I honestly couldn’t fault a single thing about our stay. I would 1000% recommend this villa to anyone staying in Ubud/Bali — it completely exceeded our expectations and made our trip so special.

A thoughtful, comfortable, and family-friendly stay in Ubud that exceeded our expectations.

Everything was great. The complimentary shuttle service within Ubud was extremely convenient and always available on request. The staff were very friendly, attentive, and offered many helpful local recommendations. During our stay it was my birthday, and they kindly arranged a celebration and decorations, which was a lovely surprise. The villa was spacious, the private pool was very clean, the Wi-Fi worked very well, and the breakfast was excellent. The children especially enjoyed their time here.

A hidden gem of a place to stay, with 5 star quality concierge service and beautiful location.

Motama Villa is a brilliant place to stay. Highlights are the amazing staff and concierge service, who will do anything and everything to add to your stay - and the fantastic breakfast options. A special thanks to Yumas and Gun in particular for going above and beyond to help us find about about Balinese cood and culture, and to the whole staff for their service. If you are after a bit more of an immersive stay in Ubud this is the place for you. Staff here will help you with lots of opportunities to engage in local culture. Super friendly for families also.

There was really nothing ‘not to like’, though some may want a more central location if they don’t want to rely on the free shuttle. This isn’t a problem for anyone happy to walk 20 minutes, more for those with mobility issue.

The location is great. Central ubud. Facilities were adequate and staff very helpful. Breakfast was decent.

Just little things like tea wasn’t restocked. Towels weren’t changed automatically and a few things were broken. Also bedrooms were on different floors and the pool wasn’t very clean.

Great stay!

Staff was very friendly and helpful. The food was good and the pool was nice.

I wish there would have been pool towels. We had to use our shower towels for the pool, therefore, we asked for new towels each day. Also, there isn't much of a fitness center. There was 1 piece of a full body gym equipment, but it wasn't in good condition. They added a treadmill for me, however, I prefer free weights when I'm traveling.

Nice place but would try somewhere else next time.

Breakfast was great, they also offer a car to take you on to Ubud and pick you up which was great. Also had a puppy and kitten during our stay.

Unfortunately the staff member that welcomed us just seemed bothered we turned up. However, every other staff member was amazing. The suit was two story so one room was upstairs and one down with an external staircase so not good if you have young children.

Gorgeous villa, beautiful pool, great staff

The staff were very friendly and very accommodating, private pool was the best bit! The pool had a beautiful view of the rice fields. The villa was big and had everything we needed. They had a shuttle into town which was great. The grounds were lovely and it was quiet.

Didn't like the mould smell in the bottom room and mould on roof in bottom bathroom.

Happy and happy stay

All the staffs are so so so so nice to us every single time. They provided unlimited free shuttle to ubud city, the breakfast is yummy. If we come back to ubud, will definitely come back to visit them again

Although there were a few minor downsides, I would still recommend this villa.

The overall atmosphere of the villa was fantastic. We had a two-story villa with a private balcony, pool, kitchen, and dining area — more than enough to make us happy. We bought beers and snacks from outside and enjoyed a chatty, relaxing time in the dining area facing the rice fields (and no mosquitoes!). Even though it’s called a villa, there’s a reception desk with staff who assist with check-in and check-out, and they were very helpful with all our requests. Our room overlooked the rice fields, and it was wonderfully quiet.

We had two rooms, and the AC in one of them wasn’t working properly, so unfortunately we just had to put up with it. Since our bathroom was semi-outdoor, the bathtub had some moss on it. It seemed like it was naturally there, and I didn’t use the bathtub anyway, so it wasn’t a big issue.

Close to Ubud central. Staff are super friendly and approachable. Offers great suggestions on where to go and what to eat. Very on point recommendations. Love it. The whole crew is all about service - hard to beat such great service! Cute little resident puppy (Kim-Boy) at the villa. Well behaved, and respectful in the sense that it does not enter your villa. Just wait patiently outside to see if you have little treats for it. Bring along a pack of dog food if you are a dog lover.

2 blackouts in 3 days. One lasted for couple of hours. The other for minutes. That leaves us with no aircon or heated water. Total darkness. Lots of mosquitoes and ants. Maybe a spray of natural insecticides before the guests arrived, and when they are out would be helpful.

Rooms were amazing and staff were so lovely. They also ran a free shuttle anywhere you needed to go. The bedrooms were so spacious with huge bathrooms superb decor and much better than anticipated.

I would like more outdoor space. Weather wasn’t good for us but if it was sunny there’s only 2 x sun loungers and no space for comfortable chairs. Also not sure how much sun you would get as it seemed shady for most of the day.

Beautiful Villa and Great Staff, but Some Details Need Attention

The villa was lovely and came with a private pool. Although it was a bit far from Ubud Centre, a shuttle was always available for trips to and from the villa. The trees around the pool were beautiful, and the afternoons were truly enchanting with the sounds of nature all around. The staff’s hospitality was excellent, and the villa offered several tours at reasonable prices.

The quality of the food and the cleanliness of the bathroom were not perfect and could be improved.

Relax with a quiet and private villa

Greatly appreciate their advice on where to go and when to go, their recommendations and especially them ferrying us to the sites we want to go. It helped a lot with our plans and we're able to make changes to our ppans based on their advice. The staffs were super accommodating and even checked on us to ensure we don't miss any of their benefit...oh and they were always smiling. Each and every one of them made us feel like a million bucks and more! Their service is top notch and the private location gives you a nice, quiet ambience. We wanted to relax and not rush to any sites as it always is when holidaying in a foreign country and we certaily got that.

The road leading to the villa is a little narrow and can be a little scary. The villa isn't far from the many cafes or ubud town, but because of the ctazy traffic and secluded location makes it a little daunting to travel on your own. But they do their best to accommodate us and when they can't, we ordered grab for our transport needs.

A comfortable, relaxing stay.

We really enjoyed our 5 nights at Motama Villa. The location was away from the hustle and bustle but a car was available almost instantly to drop us off to nearby restaurants and pick us up when we were finished. The rooms were huge. A big yummy breakfast was delivered to our room each morning. The staff were so kind. 100% recommend.

Modern villa with a beautiful view 30 minutes from Ubud city centre

The villa is nicely decorated and modern. The staff was extremely service minded, friendly, and accommodating. The pool was great and the shuttle service was flexible and a nice option to have. There were almost no mosquitoes, despite the beautiful rice fields the villa overlooked, which was a great surprise. Overall we were very happy with our stay.

The images of the villa on this site were of another villa on the property. They are not hugely different, but the layout was a bit different, which had an impact on us traveling with a toddler. There was a lot of noise until around 23.00 on most nights (week nights and weekends) from what was probably balinese dancing shows, which was a bit disruptive for our sleep. Other than that it was quiet though. The biggest drawback was not directly related to the property, but should be mentioned. Ubud has become completely overcrowded, with traffic almost at a standstill most times of day at any day of the week. This meant that taking the shuttle downtown usually took 30-40 minutes, while it took 30 minutes to walk, so the shuttle was mostly useful to limit how much we had to carry our toddler (good luck using a stroller in Ubud) and to avoid heavy rain. If you have no problem walking 30 minutes to and from downtown on narrow, very busy streets without proper sidewalks, this will not be a problem to you.

There are 2 main drawbacks 1. Lack of good sitting nearby the pool Only 2 chairs and a kind of sofa but no sun bed and chairs were uncomfortable 2. cleaning is not done every day, they didn’t change towels and with the humidity that wasn’t great For instance they didn’t clean the breakfast when we came back at 5pm

The location is a little far out from main streets. Motama provides on demand shuttle by car, which is a thoughtful way to improve accessibility. However it still takes about 20 min due to the traffic. However if you don't always need to go to the main streets, or not a first timer to Ubud, it would be a good choice to experience a quieter side of Ubud.

Amazing place and location! We wish we had stayed longer, the best place to stay in Ubud in you are looking for peace and quiet! We were at a 5 star hotel before this and this was by far better!

Great place with lovely views, highly recommend.

Amazing little place which was a great find. Very comfortable and clean accommodation with a beautiful view over the rice paddies. Staff were wonderful and always willing to help. Location is a little out of Ubud centre. There are a few restaurants in quick walking distance or you can use the free on demand transport into Ubud centre. It is a little hard to find at first as it is down a narrow lane way but once there it is worth it. If you prefer to stay in the middle of the busy hustle and bustle this is not it. However Motama Villa offers lovely boutique accommodation (only three villas) with peaceful views and surroundings instead. The bedrooms and bathrooms were quite large also. Breakfast was great with several choices and they also offered us complimentary afternoon tea which was a lovely little treat. Would definitely stay here again.

Perfect stay at Ubud for a family of 4.

We had a great stay at Motama Villa. Staff is very friendly. There is a shuttle to/from the town center. The rooms are spacious and provide a great few on the rice paddies. It is quiet and beds are comfy. There is room service for breakfast, dinner and lunch. The food is great. Unfortunately, we arrived with Bali Belly. The staff was really helpful and organized a doctor for us.

Perfect villa sanctuary with the best staff

The staff were amazing and the little touches like a different bed time story every night left on the bed made the stay so memorable! The 24 hour conceived service was impeccable, we could text and ask for something and got a response every time in under 3 minutes. Pictures don’t do the place justice, just book it, you’ll love it!

It is a villa with lots of nature so there will be bugs and reptiles but it didn’t bother us, they also provide bug spray. Just a heads up for those who mind :)

Wonderful 5d4n stay in home like villa

The room is spacious and clean. Villa staff, from front desk (Gun, Gita & Dian), room cleaning (Ariawan, Purwa, Bagiada & Okia) to kitchen (Iso & Suarnawa) are like a big family welcoming us from day 1. They are just a text away, responding quick to all our requests and needs. Gun even prepared a kite for us when our daughter wanted to try flying one. He even brought us to the place and teach us how to fly up the kite. Gita and Dian also help and guided us in the praying at the villa temple when we requested. The breakfast daily were nicely prepared and the villa is always cleaned thoroughly. We like it that there are limited villas and the services are so personalised and genuine. It was an amazing stay for my family for the 5 days we are with them.

We had booked two 2 bedroom villas for 3 nights and I would say that all of us were very happy with the stay and food.

Beautiful villas with private pool, spacious bedrooms, comfy mattresses and lovely bathrooms. To top it all, a fabulous view from the balcony. The staff were very friendly and accommodating and made sure our every need was met.

If I have to nitpick, perhaps the quality of cocktail drinks could have been better.

Our stay at the villa was absolutely wonderful. The property is stunning – peaceful, beautifully maintained, and perfect for a relaxing Bali getaway. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and we loved having a private pool to unwind in. A special thank you to Deta, who truly made our experience unforgettable. He was incredibly helpful, and always available when we needed anything. From organizing our meals to recommending local spots, Deta went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. Service and communication needs improvement

The villa is clean.

The service here is bad and the employees English is worse. I honestly never understood what they told me I just shook my head up and down. The first day I stayed here I went on a tour I was gone at 6 am they messaged me around 9 am for breakfast. I told them I was out and they told me we noticed. I guess they just let themselves in without my permission.The next day I went to use the treadmill at 9 am and I was greeted by a woman and she asked if I wanted breakfast in the villa I replied yes. From that time till check out I never received breakfast. When I explained that to the front desk they asked are you ready to check out..... The service in Bali compared to Thailand is a giant decline and all the YouTubers never tell you this when you watch there videos because they rather sell you lies and make money than tell you the truth.

Great place to stay - highly recommend.

Lovely hosts who were happy to help with anything. It was a little tricky to find as it's in a quieter lane but they were there to help us and meet us and take our luggage. Breakfast choices were amazing! Rooms and ensuites were enourmous. Location was good, you could walk to the busier streets or easily pick up a scooter to take you further into the thick of it. We walked to the Monkey Forest from there.

If i was being picky, some washing up gear for the kitchen so you could clean up surfaces if you made a mess and didn't want to wait for the daily clean.

Best place!

This was our second time staying at Motama. It's an absolute gem! The staff are so kind, breakfast is amazing, and the room is beautiful! Private pool is great! Yes, it's slightly out of town, but you just text them and they come and pick you up or drop you off. We will absolutely be back!

Quiet spacious villa overlooking rice paddies.

The rooms were very spacious and well appointed with large bathrooms. Pool area was delightful and overlooked rice paddies. Great to relax in during the afternoons. Staff were incredibly responsive, very friendly and enthusiastic and went out of their way to assist. Could not fault the service. There was an on demand car into Ubud because whilst it looks close on the map the paths weren't really walkable but drop-offs and pickups were available on demand. Would definitely recommend

We like to be able to walk from the villa and the paths and traffic to the main area were a challenge, however the shuttle service more than made up for it.
