A peaceful, affordable stay with a beautiful jungle view and warm hospitality.

I really loved the room—it had a true Balinese resort vibe. The jungle view right in front of the balcony was amazing. Even when it rained, the wide eaves allowed me to sit on the balcony and enjoy the sound of the rain. The breakfast was delicious, and all the staff were very kind. One of them could even speak Japanese, which made me feel very comfortable and welcome. There was also a cute puppy that followed the staff around—it was so adorable. Considering the price, this place is an absolute bargain and I highly recommend it.

A mazing stay at a guest house

We had an amazing stay at Cahaya Guest House in Ubud. The location is perfectly quiet and peaceful — the kind of place where you instantly relax as soon as you arrive. It feels tucked away, yet still close enough to everything you need. The breakfast was absolutely delicious, one of the highlights of our mornings. Fresh, homemade, and served with genuine care. What really made our stay special were the lovely people running the guest house. They were warm, welcoming, and always ready to help with anything we needed. Their kindness created such a homey, comfortable atmosphere. Overall, Cahaya Guest House gave us exactly what we hoped for — calm, comfort, amazing food, and wonderful people. We would happily stay again!

Really great stay for lowcost trip!:)

I really liked the vibe of the accomodation, i felt really safe as a solo female travel. Pretty view from balcony, every day cleaning, tasty breakfast (eggs, toast/pancake/pudding/nasi goreng) with fruit and coffee. Really kind ftinedly staff. You can rent scooter from 70 000 IDR. Really good price.

Location is little bit from the city center, but with scooter/Grab/Gojek it is not problem. The water waste was draining poorly sometimes. Geckos were in the room sometimes.

We were warmly greeted by the host, who was very friendly and nice. The room was spacious, and they even prepared a lovely birthday surprise for my friend, which was such a sweet and special gesture. The guest house feels more like a hotel, with a shared balcony for all guests that still allows for some privacy. The à la carte breakfast was exceptionally good, and overall the stay was great value for the price.

Since I always aim to give honest feedback to help both the property and future guests, I’d suggest adding proper ventilation in the bathroom, improving the shower enclosure to prevent water from spreading across the floor, providing a trash bin, more clothes lines, and perhaps a small cupboard near the sink for guests to store their toiletries.

Incredibly peaceful and very comfortable stay!

Unbelievably peaceful stay, set in a gorgeous quiet road in Ubud. Really welcoming and friendly staff. My room packed onto a jungle scene, I sat on my balcony and looked out to all the plants - loved it here, I will be back!!

Everything was really nice and good quality and we really enjoyed the balcony. It was also away from the main street so you didn’t hear the traffic.

Spectacular views and prices but needs improvement

The location is stunning and the furnishings are really modern. The price was really low. The breakfast was good, you get to choose from 3 different options the night before and then someone brings it to you on the terrace at the time you set in the morning (without entering the room, because the terrace is shared (tough you do get privacy).

Sadly, the two main issues were insects and cleanliness. It was obvious they didn't dust the property in months. There were spider webs on the wooden decoration above the beds (which we cleaned a little with wet wipes), as well as in other places. Now the insects... the moment we entered the room there was a giant ant on the bed. As we started to unpack and check the bet, we could see other tiny insects on the mattress. We asked for a bug spray which the host promptly provided, then sprayed the room and then let it aerate - which took about an hour because we really wanted to get the smell out. But once we got inside and sat on the bed, another ant decided to share the bed with us. There was also a really thin worm on the terrace which got inside and added to the anxiety. We saw a few more that night and didn't get really good sleep because we kept waking up thinking about these insects. In the morning, the gecko that was outside the room hid into the terrace door frame and we asked the lady who brought us breakfast to help us find it and get it out... She didn't speak English and called a boy who was there who then said he will get the manager or something... which I don't think he did at least by the time we went out. We checked out after the first night even though we had paid for 5 nights because there was no obvious way to keep our bed and floor insect-free. Such a shame for an otherwise modern location with a great view... but when you are this close to the woods, deal the doors and install some insect nets and clean it properly every day or every other day - and I would gladly pay double the current price to stay there! PS. The hot water fluctuated between hot and cold more than in other properties we stayed in Bali. There are a few small dogs on the property and one of them started barking at us a couple of times - just something to keep in mind!

Very welcoming place close to Ubud

The host met me at 2 am due to my plane being delayed - that was very welcoming. Good breakfast, nice local area close to Ubud. Felt very local around. Good WiFi is enough to handle video calls.

Wonderful

I stayed in Ubud for seven days, during which I experienced more luxurious hotels and places with better locations. But this is the only place I would return to. I stayed here for three nights. Every morning when I opened the curtains, I was greeted by an unparalleled jungle view—so close I felt like I could reach out and touch it. Dragonflies danced in the sky, and the delicious breakfast prepared by the host was already set on the table. The room was spotless, with no unpleasant smells. The mattress was incredibly comfortable—neither too hard nor too soft—and the pillows were just the right height. The towels were thick and clean. The air conditioner ran quietly with no bright or disturbing lights. Even on rainy days, the host would come out in a raincoat to clean the yard and dry the water in front of the bedroom door. Daily room service was provided, with fresh toilet paper and even a hairdryer in the room. I also rented a motorbike for three days at a very reasonable price. Laundry service is also available here, charged at around 20K IDR per kilogram, which was very convenient. The host isn’t talkative, but he always shows up immediately when you need help. It made me feel safe, yet never disturbed—allowing me to quietly enjoy everything. It was simply wonderful. I’m a picky guest with many demands, but this place met all of them. This will forever be one of my most beautiful memories in Bali.

A really good place to stay in Ubud, almost perfect!

The view from the balcony is absolutely gorgeous, lush Balinese nature for your eyes to enjoy! Definitely amazing. The breakfast was really good too. They had dogs and one of them was really cute, his name is Moshi and he's just lovely. We would come back!

Overall, the place was awesome and we really liked it! It's difficult to find negative points, but I would have 2 suggestions. First, it was sometimes difficult to understand each other when talking to the manager on WhatsApp, but we found that the communication was a lot better orally (in-person). Second, you only get 1 coffee per breakfast, it would be a lot better if we had a little pot of Balinese coffee that we can use throughout the day, like most places do in Bali.

Pleasant and relaxing stay in Ubud

A very pleasant stay. All basic amenities provided. Very polite host. Great hospitality. Clean rooms. Amazing balcony garden view; breakfast at our specified times with this garden view - absolutely loved it! A booklet containing details of your stay, dance performances happening per day in Bali, wake up call service, and many other minute details specified. They also provide tour packages to visit popular and offbeat spots. Wish we could stay a little longer here. Warung Hana was nice place to eat suggested by our host. Thankyou so much Cahaya guesthouse for a wonderful stay.

Great accommodation in a quiet street of Ubud

Absolutely everything was wonderful. A very big room with a nice decoration, perfectly clean, view to the nature (palm trees) in a quiet neighbourhood of Ubud. I must highlight the breakfast, amazing, genereous and delicious. Wayan and his family were really kind with us.

The best first experience in Ubud by Cahaya Guest house

Booked this hotel based on great reviews and I enjoyed it a lot. The entire house is super clean, location is great (5min to get to the center of Ubud by scooter, tasty breakfast and super friendly stuff. Will recommend everyone who wants to stay in Ubud. 100/10 🙌🏻🙏🏻

The room was clean and spacious and had a very comfortable bed! The view outside the window was a beautiful tropical forrest. Pak Nick, the owner, was very nice and and ready to help with anything we needed. The breakfast was also super nice!

Very clean room with beautiful green views. There was a couch and a table with a chair in my room along with Kettle, coffee, tea. The breakfast was good and watermelon juice so fresh. There was also a hair dryer. I loved everything and all the little details in the room. I wanted to extend my stay but they were all booked out. I would definitely come again and make sure I book in advance next time.

perfect guesthouse

I definitely recommend this amazing place. I am attaching a photo from the terrace of my room. If you are looking for a modernly designed room in a traditional bali neighborhood, you should definitely come to cahaya. Wayen and Adi were our wonderful hosts. They offered a magnificent breakfast every day and cleaning was done. Before coming here, in an expensive hotel I was staying but cahaya was much more beautiful and comfortable. I will definitely stay here again.
