We had 3 rooms all next to each other with an outside terrace which meant we could all get together there (fortunately the weather was good). The location for the castle is perfect and there was plenty of private parking at the hotel. The hotel gardens are pretty and well maintained and the staff were very welcoming and friendly and efficient. The beds were all a good size and very comfortable. Extra pillows and blankets were in the cupboard and a kettle with tea/coffee in the room. We ate in the restaurant and all enjoyed our meals.
There is a general need for some maintenance work and updating. This is a shame as it’s a pretty hotel in a great location. The bath towels were very small. Breakfast was adequate but expensive. We were charged the full buffet price although nobody actually asked us if we had taken that option. Which in fact not all of us had on either day. - Our fault for not checking the bill before paying.

Convenient for stopover
Needs some new carpets in public areas, especially stairs and landing.

Very good location for chateau
On arrival the gentleman on reception was very not very helpful not even offering to carry a case upstairs or even holding a door open we are both over 75 although we managed in the end . Going back to our room at night was very difficult as the path was not lit and very loose and uneven although there was lightning it was never on

It was close to many chateaux. Chenonceau did not offer a varied choice of restaurants.

The location is great for visiting the chateau, the private parking was of benefit and the restaurant staff were helpful and professional.
The carpets in the common areas, especially the stairs and upper landing, were absolutely filthy. The carpet of our room, whilst seemingly cleaner, was very stained with what appeared to be bleach. The decor and amenities all need a refresh and some modernisation.

This is a lovely old hotel in an excellent location in the centre of the village and within walking distance of the chateau. There is private car parking with easy access to the hotel. All the staff we encountered were friendly and helpful. The bedroom was quiet and we had a comfortable overnight stay. We ate in the hotel restaurant and everything was delicious. Breakfast was very good too.
My husband and I are both in our 70s but thankfully mobile, as the bathroom had lots of steps and was not easy to access. It did not affect the enjoyment of our stay but this particular room may not be suitable for all guests. I don't think anyone checked that this would be manageable for us. Our only other comment would be that the wine in the restaurant was all quite expensive, not our usual experience in French country hotels!

Lovely location in centre of Chenonceaux. Our room was comfortable with a nice outside terrace. Bed was large and comfy.
We enjoyed a delicious evening meal on the terrace. All the staff were friendly and professional.
Unfortunately we didn’t have time to enjoy the pool which looked lovely.
Good secure parking behind the hotel, you need to keep your eyes peeled to find the entrance!
Would recommend for an overnight stop
Furniture in our room was a non matching mix of styles and tired. The landing/corridor to the rims also didn’t sell the hotel … terribly stained carpet. These are all visual / aesthetic points which detract from what could be a fabulous little hotel.

A warm welcome by the lady on reception who showed us to our room. On a day which was extremely hot we were pleasantly surprised at how cool the room was and it was extremely spacious and well laid out. The swimming pool was lovely although none of the loungers and seating had shade. Chenonceaux chateau is just around the corner as well as the railway station, although very little else in this remote village.
We had reserved for dinner for both nights of our stay as the reviews of the restaurant were very good and there wasn't many other places to eat close by. We waited a very long time to be served a drink in the bar which made us late for our dinner reservation, by which time most of the tables were reserved or occupied and we were offered a table in a terrible location. We asked if we could have a table near the open windows due to how hot it was and after two different members of staff trying to work out where we could sit, we were placed on a nice table, only for another member of staff throwing us off the table and our only other choice was to sit on our own in a separate dining room. Due to this we seemed to be forgotten about and it took quite a while for someone to take our order. Our starter was delicious however the main course duck breast was very over-cooked and tough although the flavours were good. If there was another option to eat elsewhere we would have walked out and on our second evening we drove 20 minutes to Amboise were there is a huge selection of wonderful restaurants. Needless to say we will not be returning.

Room was very comfortable; one of our rooms was up narrow stairs, so if there are mobility issues, be sure to ask for a room that does not require so many stairs
The restaurant was very good as far as the food went, but it was also very expensive for the area, especially the wine.

Limited and low volumes. Reasonable selection.
Catering for dietary needs could be better.

The hotel is close to the Chenonceau castel. The staff is gentle, and the room was clean and comfortable. We took the dinner in the restaurant, it was really good. Price are correct for the service delivered.

Nice place. But we had dinner there and for what we paid was not good. My husband’s steak was so tuff he could chew it.

Location for chateaux perfect.
We were able to swap to a slightly better & bigger bedroom. Bed comfortable.
Nice garden to sit in and plenty of parking
Very dated tired building in need of modernisation.
Tiny stinking damp shower room with cracked shower base
Towels very thin and don’t dry you
Curdling cream cartons, no milk ones available. No decaf coffee sachets and limited quantities of everything.
Requested more milk, tea, sugar & coffee sachets, man reluctantly gave a few extra.
No Wi-Fi in room which also affected TV signal and man said it does work and he can’t help. Manager came to look on 2nd day said it should work but no solution.
Dinner very expensive but food was nice.

Romantic-like hôtel with terrace, gardens, pool opened as of May and a very nice suite like room 28 that had a lobby before the room. Attentive staff and lots of parking in back.
5 minute walk to Chateau.
Nothing other than 2 big old stains in rug in lobby area of room.

A charming old building with a warm atmosphere. We were welcomed by Xaviar who went out of his way to show us a better room than the one allocated and explain the facilities and the town layout to us. We ate dinner in the restaurant which was exceptional. The foie gras tartin was unbelievable. We slept well and had an enjoyable breakfast. The hotel is an old fashioned experience which we prefer. Very personal and friendly. They care.
It was all delightful.

with a planned balloon ride and a shortage of gasoline for our rental. The staff went out of their Way to fix the problems.

Charming and beautiful old hotel within a five minutes walk to Chenonceaux
Spacious room with a very comfortable bed and a lovely little bistro set to sit outside with my coffee. I didn't get a chance to use the pool because it was raining; but the gardens were lovely.
Good breakfast
