Good hotel in the centre of the village

Lovely hotel in village centre. Excellent breakfast. We didn't have an evening meal there, but the terrace and table settings looked fabulous, very atmospheric and romantic.

The village was a bit quiet with some bars and restaurants closed up, which then limited the choice of places to go in the evening. Good bar across the road from the hotel closed at 10pm.

Nice hotel

Lovely little hotel in the village centre. We stayed 2 nights but would have stayed for 3 if there were any good restaurants or bars nearby but not much around. The breakfast at the hotel was absolutely amazing and its restaurant was romantic and ambient.

Classic venue with excellent food but needs a little tlc.

Smalltown location with good connections for bike trails. Hotel had a quality feel to the interior.

We were disappointed with the swimming pool facilities at the rear of the hotel as we had chosen this venue with pool as the perfect end to a cycling day. The area around the pool seems to have been neglected of late and the filters were insufficient to keep the pool fresh.

A little gem of a hotel and we would return.

Loved the location in a pretty and friendly little town. Close to Tours and Chenonceaux. Staff were particularly friendly, welcoming and helpful at all times. Breakfast and evening meal excellent.

It would have been good to have a bar so we could have a beer on arrival after a long drive, but I’m sure we could have have had a drink on the terrace if we’d asked for it. There were bars nearby so not really necessary!

An excellent stop over between Caen and the Dordogne. The food was excellent on both stays.

Breakfast was good but the evening meals were superb - the food was wonderful on both occasions and we loved the Crepe Suzette.

Possibly facilities in the rooms. We had to move the coffee tray from its table to the other side of the room because the socket was being used for the fan. We ended up boiling the kettle on the floor beside the bed. We very much liked room 4 overall though but the Chopin Room was a bit basic.

We were very disappointed in the restaurant. The food was uninspired and I gave up trying to eat my steak as it was so tough. This was such a difference to all the other hotels we ate at. Although the reviews were good, I can only assume it was the chefs night off.

Very nice experience in Bléré

Wonderful small hotel with charm in the centre of the village. Parking just behind, and a restaurant which was amazing. We did not expect the service and quality for a 3star establishment, so CHAPEAU! I wish that there were more of these in France to compete against the giants of ACCOR etc. The room was very ok and a huge bathroom! The Crepes Suzettes were the best I've ever had...merci!

Only default is that there isn't a lift for the lesser mobile, however, the staff will call the bags upstairs if needed.

Sadly , very disappointing indeed .

Dinner on our first night , a Saturday , was very good . But the exactly the same two courses minus the special , were served two nights later ! The quality had also dropped a lot we felt . Just not good enough .

The hotel didn’t live up to our expectations at all . The decor in the rooms was disappointing , although the bathrooms seemed newly decorated and kitted out . The pool was green with algae and the whole garden area very neglected . The notices in the bedroom stayed the pool was open for use ! There was no seating area in the hotel to sit and read or have a drink. There were tables and chairs in an outdoor area , but there was bird poo on them .It was too cool anyway , to sit outside in October in the evening. We didn’t have breakfast , so can’t comment on that . I have to say , for the price , there are much nicer places to stay in the towns around .

Lovely old building in centre of market town

It was great to be able to swim briefly in the good-sized pool, and to park in the hotel's car park. Our room was very spacious, and well-lit, and we appreciated having both bath and shower. The food at dinner was well presented and tasty. There was plenty of choice at breakfast.

At dinner we sat for 15 minutes with menu but without being offered anything to drink. And there seemed to be limited choice of two plats: veal or fish. The only cooked item at breakfast was boiled egg.

extremely welcoming and helpful service. The menu was interesting and varied and the cooking excellent. We particularly enjoyed being informed about the local Sancerre and Touraine wines and sampling them!we would love to go back there again.

Very comfortable family run hotel, hospitable host with an excellent restaurant, good parking, large comfortable and charmingly quirky rooms and private off street parking. Well located as a break on our trip up for the ferry next day. In a nice town worth exploring. Breakfast very good.

Surprising boutique hotel and great restaurant ideally located to explore the Loire Valley

Discovering le Cheval Blanc was a very good surprise. We did not expect a boutique hotel in a small, unknown, french country village. The owner, and the staff were very amenable, and very helpful. We were there on a warm summer evening, and dinner was served outside, in the yard. Very quiet, good distance from the other tables, nice dishes and silver plated flatware. The menu was short, but interesting and varied, and everything we ordered was just delicious. The decoration, incorporating semi industrial elements was very interesting and the color schemes were very soothing. A nice base for the exploration of the Loire Valley. We highly recommend it and will certainly be back.

Parking was not easily available and one cannot bring one's car in front of the hotel door, located in the pedestrian area of a square. Travel Light!!!

Week-end escape to Loire with the dog.

Very clean, stylish hotel. Great relaxed atmosphere provided by the attentive staff. The food is excellent and the cave is stocked with brilliant local wine. Our one year old Vizsla loved it too. He stayed for only 7€ per night. He was made very welcome. Bonus.
