It was okay for three days, but I probably won’t stay there again

Reception area clean and welcoming. Staff in the breakfast area and bar were very kind. Check-in process was easy

The hotel walls are extremely thin, I could hear a phone alarm from the room next door. The plug in my bathroom sink was stuck, I went downstairs to ask if maintenance could take a look while I went out, came back and it was not fixed. Only 1 of 2 mugs was ever replaced in my room, the other one sat dirty for my further 2 night stay. I had an Amazon box with part of the order still in it, went to pack my things and noticed the box was gone and my items had been thrown out. Saturday night I kept being woken up by slamming doors and other guests talking very loudly.

The location is perfect for us travelling up and down the road, we have stayed here before.

This time the hotel appeared very rundown. It was cold, dirty, tired and the was a smell of sewage within the corridors. Pool was freezing with murky water

Did not acknowledge my multiple requests for a cot to be set up, even though it was noted on their system. I had emailed numerous times in advance to ensure the sofa bed was not set up and a travel cot was provided for my baby as we were arriving at bedtime. Upon arrival to the room, the sofa bed was set up and no cot provided. Went to call reception and the phone did not work, so had to trek back to reception to tell them. This was rectified quite quickly. Cold room Unfriendly staff on arrival and departure. A man pushed in front of me waiting to check out and was still served first. I said something to both the other customer and staff and was ignored.

Warm Friendly hearty stay just a shame the the room wasn’t.

It has had a fresh renovation which is really nice the reception area this big airy and warm and very welcoming. The breakfast is amazing with plenty of choice and really good value for money.

Good overnight family stay.

The day and evening staff were fantastic. Interacted with our Grandchildren very well, even offering free ice cream or hot chocolate, and in the evening a pick from the chocolate box. Very friendly and helpful. Credit to Holiday Inn. Breakfast lovely, plenty of choice. Again staff very friendly. Great location.

Two elderly night staff, very stern and no interaction with any of us. Family room, not made up, no bedding. Sofa bed very uncomfortable even for the children. Telephone not working. Restaurant, overhead food hot lights, covered in dust (which went all over the food area when being pulled to switch off.)

Booked 3 rooms for a family get together arrived around 5.30 booked through booking.com said breakfast included on arrival we were allocated 3 rooms upstairs but were told no breakfast included !!! Went to find rooms my daughters both had rooms + myself & My partner went into our room to find it very tired bed surround badly ripped/damaged, room changed but not really much better on return my daughter complained of room very smelly, we went in, it smelt & felt very damp. Spoke to duty manager who offered us rooms pretty much the same, however these were also not acceptable so we eventually asked for and were given a refund & left obviously spoiling our night But better than not enjoying our night & wasting money

Disappointing on the whole. A bad start to our break.

We had a reasonably comfortable room for the price.

We were unfortunate in our arrival time and found we had very little choice when it came to eating in the dining room. We ended up by having what was left over! The staff were helpful, apologetic, and inexperienced. The meal, when we finally found something we liked on the menu, took over three quarters of an hour to arrive. We were seated in what appeared to barish corridor, just adjacent to the bar. Rather noisy music to make up for the fact that most of our fellow-diners were either on their 'phones or their lap-tops! We were looking for a simple, quiet meal after quite a long drive, and the atmosphere was a bit grim. Long corridors and stairs, and no lift. We are both fit, but in out eighties, so stressful.

Staff are disgusting

Poor service, staff are disgusting. Tried to tell me my own postcode was wrong as my address wasn’t right. They checked Google maps and my address was correct. Absolutely joke. Disgusting staff need to retire. No idea what customer service is. Asking personal questions. Disgusting. They should be ashamed.

Great location, but didn’t meet expectations

Breakfast was okay but options could have been a little better. Lovely staff, great location and a very reasonable price. Huge big car park that was free which was great. Use of leisure facilities was a nice added touch.

We stayed in one of the accessible rooms. The cleanliness was not up to standard whatsoever. Our toilet had brown stains at the bottom and the paint had all been damaged on the walls. The shower drain was so loud and the entire corridor/room smelled really damp. The mattresses were a bit hard. The lighting in the room was awful and for being an accessible room, there was hardly any room to actually move around. Breakfast was okay, but the options were pretty limited. The table was covered in little crawling/jumping/flying bugs which was disgusting. The coffee machines were broken. The spa facilities were so small I couldn’t enjoy anymore than 10 minutes in the pool due to a mother and two boys coming down and therefore I didn’t have enough room to swim around.
