Carmo's Wonder

The apartment is spacious with good facilities, it had everything we needed and the host met us upon arrival with extra toiletries and some really useful advice on where to eat locally and where to empty any full bins etc. The location was very near to Rossio station from where you can get a direct train to Sintra which was great. It is very central to the shopping district. There are also lots of different places to eat and drink within minutes. There is a restaurant next door which does amazing food. The views from the balcony were lovely at night. The apartment had everything we needed and we loved our stay here!

The bathroom was fine, but it is quite small. The shower sometimes got too hot and then suddenly cold before it settled down. The main sitting room only has one small window by the kitchen, so there is not a lot of natural light. We knew that the apartment was on the 3rd floor, but for anyone else, if you have mobility issues, you will struggle with the stairs. The road outside is also quite steep and there are about 5 flights of stairs to get down to the main square, so it will challenge your fitness!

We were thrilled we booked this property because we found it spacious for our family, it was super clean, and in walking distance to restaurants, pubs, market district, waterfront, historic sites, parade, and two different train stops. Marisa and Ana were very accommodating hosts for our family.

Those with mobility concerns, might find this property challenging because it is on the fourth floor and requires climbing five flights of steep stairs. There is no access to an elevator / lift. The bathroom / washroom is small and has an unusual layout. You must step up from the living area and then take another large step into the shower. There is no door on the shower so water splashes the walls, mirror, counter, and floors. We found ourselves using our clean dry towels to soak up the puddles of water everywhere. Some may find the pounding from the footsteps of the residents in the apartment above at all hours of the day bothersome.

the 24 hour phone number they gave us was not responding! we asked for more toilet tissue paper as we are staying for 6 nights but they were not providing after we called and emailed. shower water temperature was not stable, too hot and too cold when you adjust it. There was yellow brown water dripping in the bathroom in the last 3 nights during our stay it was terrible! they should have fixed it before checking in any guest.
