Choice of breakfast could be better.Being informed that all towels were not changed everyday and having bed made each day.Would have liked to be able to open velux window in the room. There was no smoke detector in the room. Extractor fan in bathroom didn’t work.

The hosts Pat and Sheila could not have been more accommodating and friendly..
Despite paying separately for breakfast, if was well worth the £10 each, with a great selection of cereals and a lovely cooked breakfast..
Nothing.. All was good.

I liked that it was close to the center, that parking was free, and that it had a warm family atmosphere.

Located on a ridge with a tremendous view over Fort William and Loch Linnhe. The accommodation was a 15 minute walk from the station, uphill until an alternative route was found, with a warm greeting from a well informed host and engaging host. Everything in the room worked. A very comfortable bed, bathroom and sufficient space to spread out. Only a skylight for light, however this was sufficient to monitor the weather. Which one does in Fort William.

Loved meeting the super friendly and welcoming Pat & Sheena (our awesome hosts), plus their adorable little pug, Marley!🤗🐶 The room and en-suite were spotless, and the view was amazing. 🌟 We actually enjoyed the short uphill walk from the main street downtown, felt like a fun mini workout on StairMaster! By the way, it’s only a 10-15 minute walk from downtown, super convenient and easy to get around! You’ll find great restaurants, cozy cafes, historical spots and essentials like pharmacies and supermarkets (Morrisons, Tesco Express, Lidl) all nearby.
Melrose is up on a bit of a hill, so it took a little energy to get there from the Fort William bus station. But since my friend and I are pretty used to walking and taking public transport, we were totally fine with it. Like we mentioned earlier, the view from up there is amazing—definitely worth the mini workout! Of course, if you're driving, it'll be way easier and more comfy (there's parking at the bottom of the hill too). Totally depends on how you like to travel!

The view from the front garden was lovely, with several chairs & benches to sit. The breakfast was very good too & we saw a deer just beyond the back garden. Pat & Sheena were friendly and welcoming. Everything was very clean and well presented. It was a relatively short walk back into town (uphill on the way back) and we kept discovering new shortcut paths and steps to get us there! We ate at the Highland Cinema cafe& bar and the Black Isle Bar & can recommend both.
I knew the en suite room we were in only had a skylight, so we couldn't see the view from the front of the house, but it's a shame as it would be wonderful!

The view from the property is stunning. Not all rooms face the view but it can still be enjoyed. Breakfast is great. Just ask and they do a great job.

View from the bedroom was out of this world , friendly informative owners. nice hot breakfast would have liked a bit more variety maybe tinned tomatoes in place of beans .
Double bed was a bit springy, coloured bed linen , steep climb to lodgings from fortWilliam not suitable for everyone .

The hosts, Sheena and Pat, were wonderful. they were very welcoming and had a beautiful room for us to sleep and rest. The breakfasts were delicious and cooked to order. The taxi did not come as ordered, so Pat personally took us to the station. They were both so gracious. we loved their little dog, Marley, too.

Hosts were welcoming and helpful throughout our stay and could not have been more helpful. Small double was clean and comfortable and had everything we needed. The walk to town and back was fine, only takes 10mins. Breakfast was tasty and plenty of choice. Would definitely stay again if we went back to Fort William.

Steps up to the property steep but flat to walk so made them easy to climb.
On street parking close to property so good, just below driveway.
Room overlooked the water so lovely view. Facilities were clean and tidy, bedding lovely. Double bed.
Breakfast facilities were lovely, good selection available and hosts were very welcoming.
Town nearby, within walking distance after parking car, no charge after 6 pm.
Nice stay.
Local stores to pick up supplies, Morrisons, Lidl, Aldi and M&S foods.
There was nothing that we did not like.

Host very friendly and informative. Property very clean and lovely views.
Only problem from our point of view was location which was at top of a very steep hill and a climb of 39 steps to front door. Only a problem if you have fitness issues.

Well presented little room with a good comfy bed. Very clean bathroom and shower that worked well. Lovely view of the estuary. Good tea and coffee facilities in the room. An excellent cooked breakfast with cereal and toast as well. Will be staying again.
Up a steep hill that may be difficult for some. Not a problem for us.

WE had a great time, the couple hosting (owners of Melrose) are really nice and welcoming. The room we stayed at had a great view of fort William which was really nice. Breakfast is good, they give you cold and option of scottish breakfast. The room is cleaned and tidy, good bathroom as well.
Be just prepared to walk up a hill as the house is located quite high up, which was hard for us as we were finishing the West Highland Way, but if you're just staying it should be no problem. We recommend it definitely.
