Basic room which was excellent value and ideal for what I required.

Ideal for what I needed in that it is excellent value and basic room with en suite shower which was all I required for breaking up a journey and quick catch up with friends . I'm originally from Hamilton so I know the location of where to collect the room keys in the Spice restaurant across Bothwell Road and where to park. I was also aware of the issue of Noise from the pub Karaoke below the room I was in - which finished at 0100 on a Friday. It wasn't a problem for me as I was out of the room till 0030 anyway but might be an issue for some guests if you don't know that beforehand or don't research the reviews about a weekend Stay.

There isn't an Iron or ironing board available at the venue. I did phone up and ask before if they could get a hold of one but wasn't provided. The quality of Hamilton Karaoke singers has not improved !! The outside areas around the side entrance were quite messy and run down.

Not much to be fair

Tv not working called the owner who told us it was down to previous guests stealing the remote so we had to do with no tv all night. decor old and musty. The beds seemed to be on a slant and no matter what u did u would roll to centre of bed and disappear down between the 2 singles pushed to gether to make a double so hardly slept a wink

Don’t go

First of all arrived there woman girl was not helpful we had to cross dual road to a restaurant to get a key then cross back went back inside to be told it’s out side round corner dark alley full off loose rubbish like beer cans food waste the got inside building not knowing when the stairs carpet was last hoovered then got inside our room you can hear everything from down stairs in the pub whole night and when the pub loch up closed customers or workers stood outside talking for ages finally bought other room guests it was bad running on down the stairs 4 an no none there to report issues

The lowest price I could find in the area. It was fair. Noise from the pub, as should be expected.

Good Wi-Fi. Large bathroom. Warm towels. The rooms are above a pub. If you want to go to bed early and you are a light sleep, consider elsewhere.

Location was fine, met my needs. Room was fine, large bed, good bathroom. Although advertised as providing accommodation and breakfast, there was no breakfast !!.

Nice stay over

Nice location for my visit,, large room with comfortable bed and a really nice shower, towels and soap provided and the normal tea and coffee tray was in the room, good value for the money in my opinion, The room is above a very popular pub and next to a busy road, looking forward to my next stay.

Enjoyed my stay there , nice clean , good value was there for 5 nights Monday to Saturday downstairs pub only opens Tuesday till Sunday. Nice pub to.

Ridicilous amount of noise coming from the pub which was not mentioned at all this was blaring music every night so much so I could feel the bass in my room also the lack of parking. First night also did not have any hot water and when it eventually did come on you couldnt switch off the radiators.

Complaint

Clean room.

I called the spice restaurant twice between 9.30pm 10pm to complain the heating was off and there was no hot water either to shower or shave. Both times I was told someone would contact me and no one ever did. Terrible service. I couldn't shower or shave properly for my important meeting today. Id like a full refund as this should be basic services in any overnight stay. Not happy!

Don't stay if you want to be asleep before 1am

Spacious room, good shower, bed was comfy

TV didn't work so went and bought an ariel. Friday night karaoke till 1am, ridiculously loud, room was vibrating. Saturday night karaoke till 12 same again stupidly loud. Don't expect to sleep before these hours. Don't fetch kids.

Disappointing

Beds and pillows were comfortable, shower pressure was great.

Not being aware the key and 'onsite' parking were across a busy road. Being injured by a nail sticking out from the bed base whilst trying to remedy a migrating mattress. Dirty/stained grouting in one lower section of the shower.

Value for money

The location was good for my away stay, my room was clean and comfortable for the solo traveller, my bed was comfortable and I had a good night's sleep, it was a good sized bedroom and en suite, good shower with soap and towels provided, The room had the standerd tea and coffee tray. I collected my room key from the restaurant directly across the road and it was the perfect place for a meal also.

My bed was comfortable but it could do with a new mattress and bed base and the tv signal was poor.

Do not stay here

Only the location which was close to where the conference was.

Had to store mobility scooter OUTSIDE and it would have been ruined if it had rained or been damp. There was a party downstairs that went on until 01.00. It was a pub so I expected noise to 23.00. I was not informed about the party being on. Will not recommend as no safety labels on electrics. The only one was out of date.

Playing karaoke music very very loud in pub below our room until early hours, broken window in the bathroom, the two single beds had been repaired at the base underneath the mattresses with hardboard, toilet seat was broken, all the drawers in the room desk had big holes in the bottom. Avoid like the plague!!. Shit hole!.

Do not stay here. Would not recommend this place to anyone. It should be shut down. I stayed on a Saturday night, there was music playing in the pub downstairs until midnight. It was so loud the bed may aswell have been in the pub. They need to make it clear on the website about this and that it is located above a pub. Also to check in you need to cross a very busy dual carriage way with no crossing nearby to get a key. Also the toilet did not flush and there was mould on the shower head. The beds were the poorest quality bases I have ever seen- someone could easily get a splinter from them. Also, at 09:30/10 the cleaners were so loud in the room next door and pushed my door handle down to see if the room was empty. Check out time was 11! A terrible experience.

I did not stay as the room was unacceptable along with the attitude the owners. Would not recommend.

Nothing, Firstly they gave me two single beds instead of the double which was a given choice , I felt that I could not even put my suitcase in the room as it had that uncomfortable feeling.

When I booked the room, I was given a choice of either a double bed or two single beds, I chose the double bed as I am a solo traveller and would never book a single bed . I pointed this out to the person who gave me the keys, he said put the two beds together which was just not acceptable . I handed the keys back and asked for a refund, he said to contact booking.com. Booking.com advised that the Bay Horse ultimately decide if they would refund me which is disappointing, and the Bay Horse are obviously sitting on the fence with this.
