The property itself is breathtaking — an elegant, immaculately maintained bed and breakfast where every detail is thoughtfully curated. The large, spacious bedrooms are tastefully decorated with a perfect balance of classic and contemporary, featuring freestanding retro bathtubs that add a luxurious touch. The bar is eclectic and inviting, ideal for unwinding after a day exploring the beautiful surroundings. Breakfast was a highlight — fresh, homemade, and locally sourced, with every bite bursting with flavor. From the homemade jams to the fresh pastries and eggs, everything was top-notch. We also loved the comfortable breakout areas dotted around the property — perfect spots to relax with a book, a coffee, or a glass of wine. Great stay with top hospitality

Chateau Charles is well worth the price, very quiet, serene environment, well maintained chateau and above all, super hospitable owner. Max has welcomed us as if we were old friends, helped us finding restaurants and activities in the area and was at our disposal the whole stay. Breakfast is great with quality ingredients. It's a place worth going to again!

A hidden gem with amazing owners

Basically everything, a super kind and warm welcome by the amazing host Max was swiftly followed by a tour of the impressive rooms and all the available spaces for guests to use and relax in. The view, the chateau and the surrounding area are not just spectacular but also extremely well maintained. 10/10 will visit again!

very nice place, classy old castle which was renovated very nice. large comfortable rooms with excellent bathroom. Breakfast was very good. Guy was an excellent host. we will be back!

As the host said so beautifully, it should be paradise for you this weekend, and it was!

It's the first time I've ever wanted to give a 6 on a scale of 1 to 5 for an outstanding, stand-alone category of hospitality and skilled hosting. Nothing was missing and on top of that some great extras like the open fire, a ride from the train station and back, or that incredible apple pie, just to name a few :-) If you want to experience a beautiful house in a great landscape and very lovely hosts, you should not miss this opportunity. It was really great!

Wonderful chateau, amazing view and superhost

From the moment we arrived, Max (the owner) made us feel very welcome! He is a very caring host, with eye for detail, always up for a good chat and willing to provide tips about the region. The chateau itself has a wonderful location overlooking a valley. It's set on a very peaceful property but is conveniently located close to Liege, Maastricht,... Our room was really nice, spacious and clean, very comfortable beds and a really good shower! Breakfast was excellent (and prepared with care by Max)! We've already recommended the chateau to our friends and would definitely book here again!

Wunderschönes Ambiente, in der Natur gelegen, mit viel Stille und Weitblick

Wunderschöne alte Villa auf schönem Park Grundstück. Sehr freundlicher und angenehme Gastgeber und ein hochwertiges und ausreichendes Frühstück. Wer möchte, kann tagsüber und abends seine Zeit im wunderbaren Wintergarten mit grandiosen Ausblick, im Herrenzimmer oder in einer kleinen Bar als Selbstversorger verbringen. Auch eine Küche steht zur Nutzung zur Verfügung. Das Konzept ist vom Gastgeber als Guesthouse angelegt, man bekommt Zimmer mit Endreinigung und Frühstück.

Alles war top und passte zum Ambiente und Konzept.

Alles was werkelijk fantastisch: de omgeving, het kasteel, de kamer, de service, het uitzicht én het ontbijt. We werden ontzettend hartelijk ontvangen door Max, die bovendien geweldige tips had voor leuke activiteiten in de buurt. Een ideale plek om helemaal tot rust te komen en volop te genieten. Dit is echt een verborgen parel die je zéker zelf moet ontdekken. Wij komen heel graag nog eens terug!

Een waargemaakte belofte, hetgeen bijzonder uitzonderlijk is.

Het ontbijt was ronduit schitterend. Vooreest wordt het ontbijt geserveerd in een schitterende accommodatie. Ongelooflijk mooi uitzicht op de natuur, een zacht en van kwaliteit onberispelijk ontbijtmuziekje in de achtergrond en dan een bijzonder vriendelijke bediening. Zeer uitgebreid, verzorgd ontbijt, waarbij er voor iedereen was te vinden is dat hij of zij wil degusteren. Ontbijtgranen, zuivel, vlees, groenten, vers fruit, heerlijke koffie op diverse wijzen klaargemaakt en afgerond met wat zoetigheden. Oog voor detail waarbij er de tweede dag voor ons een plaatselijk kaasje werd geserveerd. Dit allemaal overgoten met een vlotte bediening waarbij humor nooit ver moest gezocht worden. Overal waar je kijkt, tref je kunst aan met een glimlach. (Overlopende lopers in een kast waarin schaakstukken staan. Wanneer je daar niet vrolijk van wordt, scheelt er iets met jezelf.) Ik zou zomaar willen teruggaan naar die ontbijttafel in dat betoverend kader.

Tout était parfait!

Nous avons passé un superbe séjour au château. La gentillesse et l’humour de l’hôte ont ajouté une touche en plus, dommage qu’il n’existe pas une étoile bonus sur Google! La vue sur le jardin depuis notre chambre était extraordinaire, un bonheur d’ouvrir les rideaux au petit matin! Le petit déjeuner était super et préparé par l’hôte, celui-ci n’hésitant pas à nous demander nos préférences la veille pour mieux nous accommoder le lendemain. L’ensemble du château était propre et bien entretenu, le tout dans un cadre féerique, avec un couché de soleil imprenable sur la vallée. Nous reviendrons c’est sûr! Merci Max!

O castelo, datado de 1800, foi reformado pelo renomado arquiteto Victor Horta, um dos grandes nomes do movimento Art Nouveau na Bélgica. Cada detalhe reflete um equilíbrio perfeito entre o charme histórico e o conforto moderno. O ambiente é acolhedor e sofisticado, com uma decoração elegante que harmoniza perfeitamente com a arquitetura do passado. A cama é como dormir nas nuvens! ☁️✨ O café da manhã foi servido com muito carinho e elegância em uma apresentação delicada e repleta de sabores deliciosos. We werden met een wijntje ontvangen. Het was een rustige, schone kamer met prachtig uitzicht. Het ontbijt was heerlijk en de gastheer en vrouw hebben het perfect naar onze zin gemaakt.
