The staff was very nice. The rooms are large but mine did smell a little mildewy and upon pulling back the blanket there was hair at the end of the bed that obviously was not mine since I had not even been in the bed. I did not include the breakfast but did eat there twice. I ordered the normal American breakfast and it was good. It was a good deal for the price.
The room smelled a little mildewy and there was hair on the end of the bed under the covers upon arrival.

The breakfast was a tasty basic breakfast with options and a good value
The pool loungers do not lay flat, so they are more like a reclined chair. Comfortable for sitting.

Staff were attentive and polite. Small selection of food for breakfast but always quickly served and very tasty. Quieter location. 5 minute cab to downtown. Laundry, food options all minutes walking distance.
One of our rooms didn’t smell the best.

Gita Maha is a small and well run property offering the basics at a very affordable price
I would love if they had pool loungers that were able to lie flat. Their loungers are curved making it impossible to lie on your front side.

Cheap room - great value for money with breakfast included
No facilities other than a pool that’s run down

Gita Maha is in a central location that makes getting to any activities you want to explore. Great little cafes up and down the street, waterfalls and temples a short ride away and the heart of Ubud center a 10 minute scooter ride
It’s a wonderful small hotel with a wonderful staff.

There were construction work out of my room, it was definitely the most noisy noise I've ever heard, it was horrible because we came at 3am after a long flight and we woke up at 7am from this renovation noise and it completely ruined our day. The hotel could tell about that and we wouldn't have chosen this hotel!!

Location was perfect . Close to Ubud center but far from the traffic and noise. Very peaceful location with good restaurants around and money ch sheet just across that gives the best rate . Very nice e pool and restaurant inside the hotel as well.
Very old hotel. There was a smell in the room and I had to sleep all doors open with AC running. Towels were so old and over used that I could not use them. Floors, showers everything old and not well maintained not improved over time. Water pressure was not good .
Toilet had spill to the floor , and there were 11 electric switch inside the room. Very old hotel which didnot get any renovation I guess. But the location was excellent and staff was very friendly and helpful. Whether I come back to this property is big question mark.

The pool was very nice and the room is large. The staff are very nice and helpful when asked.
The photos on the website didn't match reality, the room is looking old and in need of maintenance. For entertainment you have a TV that can only pick up You Tube. After I complained the staff did change the TV over to one that could access Netflix using my account and not theirs. The cleaning was of a very poor standard, the towels looked like they had never been washed, the bath tub looked dirty or dusty. Floor was not swept everyday even though there was a hole in the ceiling dropping sand near the bed. Glasses in the room were not washed after use. Bottled water was provided however, once emptied you had to refill the bottle from a machine around the corner. The hotel is 2.7km North from Ubud central and takes about half an hour to drive into Ubud central shopping markets and up to an hour to get to the Monkey Forrest. Traffic is insane, it took us 3 & 1/2 hours to go to the airport. The restaurant is only open for breakfast with a very limited choice.

Beautiful comfortable rooms and pool. Very friendly and helpful staff.
Too far out from everything, had to hire a bike.

The staff are so friendly and helpful. The room is huge as is the bed and super comfy. Pool is so nice and breakfast was delicious. Really peaceful and close to a couple of shops and restaurants if you don’t want to bike into ubud centre. We were able to hire a scooter from them for 180k a day and go to some waterfalls. It’s good being on the outskirts for that as you don’t have to drive through the busy ubud traffic
It’s a little bit out of the centre of ubud which is fine is you’re happy to scooter as only takes about ten minutes

Hotel management gave a key to my room number to a man who is not a guest of the hotel or someone I gave permission to enter my room while I was away . As the result important things went wishing from my room because the staff gave the key to my room number without my permission. The solution that hotel manager gave me was 10% discount for inconvenience.

Great large rooms & good range of channels for TV people. Gardens & now pool very Bali 😊
Generally a good set-up.
Initially told to go away as my room wasn't ready. No offer to sit at restaurant or gardens.
My downstairs room could benefit from minor refurbishment - repaint the walls to improve lighting, fix/replace the shower screen & base.
If the room was closed up, it quickly smelt damp (a common issue in Ubud). Am sure the upstairs rooms would be better aired.
Very close to the PARQ development.

The property itself is pretty, but the view does not correspond to what was advertised. The rice fields in the photos no longer exist... there is a very large construction going on instead, every day, including weekends. Staff was kind and helpful, thank you.
Nearly everything else... we booked a room with window on 1st floor, we were given a room in the ground floor with bad smell and moist. A lot of geckos in the room, as well as many ants. Some ants even inside the bed and crawling on our face at night. There are large gaps on windows and door, so insects and lizards just come in and out as they wish.
After 3 days we moved to the room we originally booked and it seemed better, except that it wasn't.
Not only ants and lizards, but also spiders and other insects. Furthermore, the water pressure was so low in the shower that it made it almost impossible to take shower.
The food during breakfast was also insufficient, and it varied a lot in quantity.
We booked for 2 weeks but in the end, we moved out to Kuta after less than a week and forego the payment, as it was non refundable.

This property was cheap, with friendly staff, and booked late notice. positive experience.
The bathroom amenities were a little broken and the sheets were stained but clean.

I loved the layout of the room and the bathroom, the spaciousness. And the facilities: kettle & fridge. Great comfy beds, aircon was working well. The staff was very friendly and always ready to serve. Laundry service was quick. I asked the staff to prepare a rose petal bath & bed for me and my partner upon arrival and they were very on point with that. I would consider coming back here with my partner!
I didn't like some furniture and bathroom felt old.. and in one bathroom it was quite a strong mold smell (though i didnt see any mold). some renovation is needed. Perhaps some tv service like netflix /amazon prime /hbo would make it more complete. The view from the pool wasnt so great, overlooking construction sites, maybe they could cover that with plants better.

The location is good, close to Parq Ubud, not too far from the Ubud centre, a couple of nice cafes right across the street or very nearby.
The stuff is ready to help.
- Old. It desperately needs renovation. Everything. Very old, grey (many years ago were white) bed sheets, with stains and holes. I asked to change them, was a witness of the process and regretted it — saw the blanket and pillows without the cover — so dirty!! Sorry, but it’s just disgusting. And definitely not hygienic.
- The furniture is old and has a weird smell.
- The bathroom is in a very poor condition — accessories and the walls cry for renovation!
- The hotel is surrounded by construction — be ready to hear its noice all the long.

Pictures are out dated, rooms did not look like the photos and are much older than the pictures.
Smell in the room was too much and we asked to change rooms which still had a smell but not as bad.
Mould in bathrooms and walls.
Smell from toilet and leaking water.
The white sheets were grey with stains.
Pool was dirty and unusable.
We checked out early.
Far out of town also.

Excellent place! I stayed in Gita Maha 5 or 6 times since I came to Bali! I love absolutely everything about this hotel! Rooms are huge, bathrooms are super nice, beds are comfortable, breakfasts are tasty and staff is friendly! The fish time I stayed there was after the Odyssey festival in Parq and I understood that there’s no reason In going back to Canggu if there’s a hotel in just one minute walk(!) from Parq. I came there not only alone, but also with my mom, with my friends and with my boyfriend! I wanted to show this splendid place to everyone ❤️ I recommend this hotel to everyone!
P.S. breakfast on the balcony is another level of pleasure
