Perfect
The hosts went above and beyond. It's the perfect place to stay if you are looking for somewhere quiet out in nature. There are beautiful walking trails right out the front door. Would definitely love to visit again some time. Thank you!

Out in the sticks, quiet and fair for the price
The holiday home itself was lovely. It was spacious and private. The bed was amazingly comfortable and provided us with a great nights sleep. It was nicely decorated and had everything we needed. We were even supplied with milk and biscuits on arrival. We also had teabags, coffee and sugar in decanters. There is a dishwasher in the kitchen and dishwasher tablets are provided. There is also a washing machine, which is a great added extra. When we arrived at the property, we were greeted by a lady who showed us to the cottage and gave us a tour. The location of the property means that it is very quiet, both during the day and night. The bathroom was spotless and the shower was pretty powerful. We, unfortunately, lost the key on our first day there but this was dealt with well by the owner. We did eventually find the key (it had slipped down the sofa) which I'm sure the owner was appreciative of. We weren't asked for any money to replace the key but would have left some money to get a replacement cut had we not have found the original. The property is located on a farm and there are chickens and ducks that roam free. We found them very entertaining to watch. I am allergic to a wide range of air fresheners and I asked for the ones inside the property to be removed, which was done without hesitation.
The kettle could do with a good limescale remover. The temperatures on the cooker have rubbed off so it's difficult to know what temperature you've set it to, so we had to guess and keep an eye on the food. No. 5 allows dogs so some of the furniture does look a little tired (scratched) but were still reasonably comfortable to sit on. The property is around 12 miles from Buxton and 9 miles from Ashbourne. We had to travel to Ashbourne on the first night to get some food and google maps had said it was the nearest supermarket. There is a petrol station less than a mile away where you can get some essentials but for bigger shops, you will have to travel. It's wasn't a big deal for us as we had only travelled 40 miles to the cottage but for anyone travelling further afield, you may wish to get some food etc on the way to save you going out again. We wanted to find an ATM and again, according to google maps, the nearest one was at Ashbourne. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay but, if we were to return to the area, we would book somewhere closer to one of the towns.
