The staff were great and helpful. It is located walking distance to the main attractions. The accommodation is a campus dorm with no AC so it gets hot at night. They do provide a fan if you ask which helps a little. The doors opening and closing of every room is very loud and can be heard at night. It is decently spacious and clean. So would recommend if you are looking for a cheapish option in Edinburgh, since all hotels are very expensive or far away.

I recommend this place as a budget Fringe accommodation, especially last minute.
While we had an overall enjoyable stay, the pictures are misleading. Dorm room is smaller than the pictures show (still better than Garner hotel which is 90 pounds a night more). I thought the room had a kitchenette when looking at the pictures, but it is a detached kitchen, which was still nice to have. Request a fan, it can get muggy at night.
Pros:
+*** for 5 nights during Fringe season, probably the cheapest non-hostel that can be found, especially within a month of travel
+ Located away from the madness, but with multiple nearby bus stops to get around, and only ~25 minute walk to Royal Mile
+ Great local pubs that aren't overcharging due to the festival and other events
+ 2 grocery stores and a gas station right next door
+ Great staff at desk, but note reception is not 24 hours
+ Lots of storage in the room
+ Detached kitchen in the hall for common use
Cons:
- Teeny tiny dorm room for ***/night, would be criminal if not for being August in Edinburgh
- Bad bed, thin box spring that had gaps in the springs
- Shower was clogged, maintenance came 24 hours after request, pulled a giant hairball from the drain and then left it in the toilet
- Onsite laundry is expensive and the dryer took multiple runs yet never got the clothes fully dry
- Doors are LOUD! I was being very mindful of closing any door because they act their about to close softly, and then slam...and it rattles the whole block of rooms. Not everyone is so considerate or realizes it's happening, so there will be plenty of slammed doors as people come and go.
- Aggressive elevator door. Seriously, it will take you out.
- No TV in the room

You get what you pay for I guess but if you can find somewhere better then I suggest you do. The bed was the worse I have ever stayed in and ended up sleeping on the floor for 1 night as it was more comfortable and then checked out one night early
