High Street Hostel - Over 18s Only, Backpackers Atmosphere

City central and conveniant. It is a quirky place but good for it. The bed was comfortable and you are left to your own devices.

I can't say that there is anything to dislike. I found it good value for money, especially at a time of year when good value accomodation is at a premium.

The place is located right in the city center, all sights can be accessed on foot. The dorms are good, the hostel is well organised, there is a large lounge and kitchen, 24h reception and the wifi is fine.

I had no complaints.

I stayed in a 4-bed female dormitory room. The woman who came before me was sleeping on my bed. We changed our beds after I told her that it was my bed. However, I could not change the sheets, therefore I slept on the sheets someone else had slept on a couple of minutes earlier. Did not appreciate that. Even though the staff clarifies that the beds have names, and the name of your bed, some people do not care. Later, the same person snored all night, and I could not even sleep. I used earplugs plus my headphones and started listening to music. Still, nothing worked. I had to wake her up at 4 am because it was impossible to sleep. She was silent for a couple of minutes and started snoring again. I thought a 4-bed-room would be easier to manage but no, if you cannot stand noise, there will be people snoring, plus voices coming from bars and pubs around that will keep you up all night. Also, beds are not comfy. The bathroom and showers are shared with the floor, and there are only 2 bathrooms and showers for the floor. The bathroom and showers are tiny. Plus, they are gender neutral, which means it is really uncomfortable to use the showers because when you get out, someone can see you and you cannot get dressed there. The lockers are sooo tiny. My bag did not fit in the lockers so I could not use it. It is also not a secure locker, as even though I locked it, someone could open it using their strength.
