It’s okay if you just need a place to stay for the night. I came late afternoon and left early morning. I was in an all female 6 bed dorm with an ensuite. It has warm and cold water. The girls I shared the room with were all considerate. I got the bottom bed and there are curtains for privacy on each bed. But the wall in my bunk had molds and it was a lot of molds. You can also hear when someone is using the bathroom and toilet flush. The doors are quite noisy as well when someone opens and closes it. You can also hear when people are walking in the hallway.
The staff are nice and helpful tho.
Also, bring your own padlock and keys for the lockers to store your belongings. They also have storage for if you need to leave your belongings after checking out.

From top to bottom, this was a negative experience. First off, the room we booked said “with bathroom” which in reality means it’s a shared bathroom outside the room and you need to bring a key every time to open your room again or you get locked out. Next, the room faces the street which is insanely loud until 3-4am. Even with the windows shut (so the room was so hot) and earplugs in, it was still so loud and impossible to sleep. The mattress is very old and slopes down and outward so you constantly feel like youre going to fall off in the middle of the night, and you wake up with a very sore back. Finally, to store luggage for an even an hour after chin out, they charge £3 per item (including backpacks). This entire experience here put a huge damper on our whole time in Edinburgh. Would not recommend.
