Our overnight stay at the Lawns Hotel

The room was very clean and spacious despite being on the main road it didn't affect our sleep

It's the first time I e been anywhere where there isn't food being served and staff on duty but not the end of the world

Lovely big comfortable room

The room was very large and clean and was nice and warm. The host was generous to supply extra snacks in the kitchen over Christmas as the rooms were not being serviced. The host also gave us a Christmas card and crackers which was a lovely touch. It was in a great location for visiting family in Retford over Christmas and was a good price and standard compared to other local places.

The windows weren't sound proof and it's on a main road, so it was a little noisy. We could feel the springs in the mattress which was uncomfortable. The room was so large it would have been nice to have a long sized bed instead of a double. It could have done with having a side light near the corner with the tea and coffee making facilities.

Great stay again.

Love the set up there, 2 x kitchens and bring your own breakfast. Lovely and clean and warm. 👍 Under new management this year and can see some great improvements. We will be back for our annual Retford meet up. 🦞

We loved the location of the property! It was close to town. Nice that parking is onsite so that you don’t need to worry about it parking! Felt very safe! Rooms were big, warm and clean!

Great stay at the Lawns

Lovely big room. Nice big white fluffy towels. Very comfortable. 2 fully equipped kitchens so you could cook if you wanted to. Not far from amenities. Would definitely stay again if in the area.

The double bed was a bit small for us but only because we're used to a king size. Not sure if there is the options of singles. Apart from that there is nothing to dislike.

We had a great stay and intend using the "Lawns" again

The room we had in the Lawns was great. The kitchen facilities were beyond our expectations. We could have easily cooked a full meal here and therefore wouldn't have to rely on eating out or carry-outs.

There was step on the threshold into our particular room and there was also a step up the shower in the toilet. It would be easy to forget they were there.

“We stayed at The Lawns for 2 nights and had a lovely experience. The room was clean and comfortable, and everything we needed was provided. Tea and refreshments were available, which was a nice touch, and the shed parking was a real bonus. I requested a cot for my baby, and it was provided without any hassle, which we really appreciated. Staff were friendly and welcoming, making our stay enjoyable. Overall, a very pleasant stay — we would happily return to The Lawns.”

Great place to stay

Warm welcome on arrival and very accommodating. Rooms are spacious and clean, beds comfortable. The rooms were very clean and the bottles of water were a nice addition after a long drive. Will definitely stay again if we're back in the area.

I have stayed at the Lawns a number of times and it never disappoints. The rooms are clean, quiet and well proportioned. The kitchen is clean and has all the appliances I need. It’s also an easy walk into town.

We always seem to arrive in the hottest week of the year and the rooms can get quite hot.

Comfortable, relaxing and close to all amenities - we'll definitely come back again!

We loved our stay at The Lawns as it worked really well for us as a family. The family room was perfect as it had twin beds for our boys and a separate room leading off the main room with a large bed for us. This meant that our sons felt secure and we had space for ourselves. We had all we needed in the room (tea, coffee, water, glasses, cups etc.) as well as toiletries in the bathroom. We also were near to local amenities (supermarkets, restaurants) and also a short drive away from Sherwood Forest. It was a great location and also really comfortable. Tim and Stelle were fab hosts and made everything really easy for us during our stay. We'll definitely be back to stay at The Lawns again as there's loads to explore in the surrounding areas!

Our boys were a little hot in the room but there was a fan so we were able to quickly rectify this and they slept soundly. We were really happy with everything offered to us.
