Comfortable & relaxing in the heart of town.

Although clearly an old building it has been decorated in a fairly modern style and is well maintained. Andy is a marvellous host, attentive without being constantly asking you if everything is ok. The accommodation though compact was very comfortable and had everything I needed for a comfortable weekend.

Lovely, homely stay

Exceptional King Room. Very large and beautifully furnished. Better than most of the ones we have stayed at, including the bigger hotel chains. Host is incredibly friendly and helpful. Location is ideal for all the facilities in Ambleside and also for the bus station to travel around the lakes.

Clean. Central. Friendly staff. Hot weather but a fan was provided. Andy very helpful. Nice touches, like recycling bin and water provided. Good hearty breakfast for days walking or swimming or whatever. Very near central bus stop and lots of great eating places.

This is a wonderful, friendly place to stay. Start your day with the breakfast.

Andy was a great host. Everyday at breakfast it was important to connect with Andy and get some ideas for our day's schedule. It was nice to form a trusting bond to start the day off well at a good, solid English breakfast. The hotel had parking because it is hard to find car park for a long stay. The location was perfect because it was a close walk to the Roman site and the boat dock as well as the bus station and the city. It was a friendly place with a very convenient location.

Our host, Andy, was delightful and diligent. The breakfast was generous. The room and facilities clean and comfortable. The location within the town was central and convenient. We are also very pleased that we chose to stay in Ambleside because if its central location in the Lake District. 3 Cambridge Villas has a free parking arrangement with the Ambleside Football Club and is around the corner from the bus stop which connects you with all local towns.

Andy was incredibly welcoming and friendly each morning, and cooked a great breakfast too. Also very accommodating with a few requests we had. Couldn't recommend enough!

The location is fabulous and the property was very clean and welcoming. The room was ok the small side but we loved it. The decor was very nicely done, the bathroom was clean. The attention to detail on the breakfast was great. second night, it was bit noisy in the adjoining room. nothing to fault the place with obviously but struggled to sleep. Even though we were central - very little noise from the town. absolutely great place to stay.

we managed to get parking at the back of the property but we wouldn’t of been happy to pay in the car park. :-/

Ideal Venue for a long weekend break

Good choices for breakfast with coffee refills and prime location near the library for tour pick up. Also ideal location for walking around Ambleside. Room was clean and stocked with drinking water, coffee and tea along with a kit-kat each. Hosts Anne and Andy were friendly and helpful.

I went for a walking holiday weekend, but the property would also suit couples weekends away.

The property is located near to the town centre, but far enough to remain quiet. The roomed were more akin to a modern hotel. The standard of cleanliness was excellent.The staff were friendly, professional and knowledgeable about the surrounding area.
