Great property - more customer focus needed for details like coffee, check out procedures etc

The location was stunning and the pool was beautiful. Walking into town was easy. These were the two main reasons I booked here so I was very happy. There was also free onsite parking. The breakfast was standard.

There was no self service coffee and the member of staff I spoke with was quite rude about it when I asked if it was possible to get a flask of hot water for the morning. There were no tea or coffee making facilities in the room. I also explained when I arrived I would leave very early and left the key on the desk. I then got a whatsapp later in the morning accusing me of leaving without paying. They had my card details and made no mention of needing to pay in person when I said I would be leaving early to get to the airport. Customer service could be greatly improved. My bath room was also very strange in the eaves of the house so I could not stand up in the shower. I am short! (165cm). No mention of this when I booked. I would have paid more for a different room.

Wonderful!

We had a really wonderful stay here. The position and view are outstanding and the terrace overlooking the gorgeous gardens and pool is a lovely place to sit, have meals and generally relax. It's about a 15 minute walk uphill to Assisi but we didn't find this a problem at all and it was really lovely to retreat back down to the peace of the hotel after a day sight seeing. The pool is absolutely stunning and very large. You can ask reception for swimming towels but we only found this out on our last day! You can order simple lunch or dinner and drinks. The staff were lovely.

We loved it all, but our room was very dark which didn’t really matter as we weren’t in it much because we had nice weather. But a few more lamps would be nice. I think the hotel is better suited to summer than winter as the terrace, gardens and pool are a so stunning.

Convenient and good value base for Assisi

The pool area was lovely, very natural, and plenty of space for everyone to relax. The family room was large, quiet and not too hot even in the roof. The location was amazing for exploring Assisi on foot.

The breakfast was disappointing - terrible coffee (the machine was broken, although we found out later we could ask for a proper espresso), the selection was limited, wasps all over the cold meat and cheese. Only plastic cups for water and juice!

New management and lower standards.

The grounds were lovely and some of the common rooms also delightful.

We had stayed some years previously and although it was simple, it was family owned and a lovely place to stay. It has now changed hands and the standard has slipped significantly. It is such a shame as it was such a great place to stay.

A pretty place to stay near but not in Assisi

We stayed here while my partner was attending a conference in Assisi, and I wanted to be somewhere with a pool and garden to enjoy. The pool is really lovely, and I mostly had it to myself. The grounds are also very beautiful and quiet, with great views down to the plain and up to Monte Subasio and San Francesco basilica. Mostly all you can hear is birdsong. The room was very pleasant, with dual aspect over the gardens, and a bathtub as well as shower - a bonus for us. It is quite a steep walk up to the historic centre, some of it along a minor road (with no pavement) through pretty olive groves till you reach the main road. We were OK doing that, but others might want to get a taxi. That would probably be easier than driving up, given how difficult it can be to park up at Assisi in high season.

Exceptional

This is a beautiful, well maintained property and has a friendly atmosphere that makes you feel like you're staying with friends. It is a very convenient location with only a 10minute walk to the old town and the pool was a welcome relief after a day of exploring in the heat

The addition of a mini fridge in each room would be the only improvement I can think of as the summer days do get hot and it's good to have chilled water on hand.

Country House Delight

The location is perfect for walking to most of the sacred sites of Assisi (if you are reasonably fit) and enjoying the excellent restaurants, cafes & gelatarias. The house is elegantly furnished in country house style and very comfortable. The grounds, garden, swimming pool and extensive views are beautiful .... but most of all, what made our stay so exceptional was the kind friendliness and efficiency of all the staff, but most particularly of Anna, the manager and hostess with the mostest! Nothing was too much trouble - from answering emails promptly, to arranging a hire car for us, producing delicious light lunches and always being ready for a friendly chat. She is a star. Thank you Anna and all your lovely team for making our stay so memorable.

The plug sockets in our room were vintage and you need to ask reception for a special adaptor, but for English appliances this means 2 adaptors which can be problematic.

Great to visit Assisi

The room was nice---except had to go up and down some steps outside. The food at the hotel was good. Was able to walk from the hotel to the town of Assisi. A uphill walk so not good for people with disabilities but walkable for this 74 year old. The GPS from Avis had me going about 1 1/2 blocks away from it. Do not know why . Went around in circles to get to it and people a country block away didn't where it was--not the hotels fault. The pool was right near my room and looked great. Did not have time to use it.

The front desk helped me with information for my next hotel and how to get there. Made a phone call to check for me.

Location was excellent and the building was beautiful. Unfortunately not very well managed.

We did not have hot shower most of the days , nothing was done about it . We stayed in 2 rooms and both rooms didn’t we could have a hot shower . The breakfast was really poor , and tasteless.

A peaceful and beautiful property, but a bit of a walk!

We loved the pool, the patio, and the view! it is a gorgeous property over all.

The walk to town was a bit perilous- you have to walk on a road with fast cars. The beds and pillows were pretty uncomfortable.
