Warm welcome from kind and helpful hosts. Excellent breakfast, the owners really looked after us. Perfect location for winter murmurations but thinking about going back again in warmer months and exploring the area further

Room was a bit rustic but that’s sort of what we were expecting. Still had all the appropriate facilities cold & hot running water. Tv was connected to WiFi, tea coffee biscuits. Old school drawing room with books etc which was lovely. Breakfast room delightful and food was top notch. Nice quiet vibes

There wasn't anything I didn't like.

I liked the fact that it is not a chain, and the hosts / owners were lovely. 🙂 I can also strongly recommend the breakfast omelette.
The only slight negative was that the shower was not great, but I suspect this has more to do with a lack of water pressure than anything else.

Really lovely location, staff were so kind and friendly. Breakfast was amazing! The bed was also very comfy!
The kettle in the room could do with a clean as was riddled with limescale so did not have any hot drinks but the selection was amazing with complimentary biscuits.

The hosts Graham and Sue were lovely. They made you feel welcome as soon as you arrived. Nothing was too much trouble and they were very knowledgeable about the surrounding area. The manor was beautiful with plenty of parking. The bedrooms were themed, which was nice. Also, they were spacious and spotlessly clean, very comfortable beds. The breakfast was amazing. So much choice and cooked to perfection, very tasty and good products used. The service was also quick. There were 8 of us and we all wished we were staying longer. Thank you Graham and Sue for making our stay so enjoyable and relaxing. Would definitely recommend and stay again whenever in the area.

Meare Manor is homely and comfortable. The host welcomed us promptly, and showed us round before taking us to our room.
There is plenty of parking to the front and rear of the property.
Our beds were extremely comfortable.
Breakfast was tasty and the service was good.
It was slightly dated in places, but I don't mind that as everything worked as it should.

Loved the large family room with king size bed and two singles not sofa beds . The breakfast was amazing and there was a good choice . It was lovely to stay in a traditional guest house rather than a modern hotel.

Nothing!!
Where do I start? This is one of the worst accomodations (not a hotel, a guest house) I have ever used. I cannot believe the reviews associated with this place. It is simply awful. Everything about it reminds me of the TV series Faulty Towers. Except you are paying £85 per night for the experience! On arrival you realise the long thin car park could result in you getting blocked in by other cars. Entering the building is depressing. If it had not been late and paid in advance I would have turned around and gone somewhere (anywhere) else. The smell is of an old building that despirately needs cleaning and a good vacum cleaner. Everything is tired and tacky. See the wiring on the distribution board at reception. I am sure the local fire officer would not be happy. I was told in an advanced call there was no restraurant but they had a bar. They don't. If you want a drink (no list available or any idea of what they have to offer) you would sit in a dimly "family room" to drink. On ordering an IPA it was flat and tasted out of date. The room was shabby to say the least. Trying to connect to the internet was a challenge in of itself. When it did connect it ran at 8mbs. Not very helpful. Best of all was the rubbish shower. It was a curtain over a bath, with an electric water heater which struggled to get either hot or adequate flow. See the picture. It was so weak I didn't use shampoo becuase I didn't think I could wash it out. Breakfast doesn't start till 8.30. I needed to leave at 8am and asked a sandwhich be prepared for the morning. I collected it from a mini fridge a 7.50. Later that morning I opened the package to discover stale bread! I have never written a review like this before. I hope I never have to do so again.

Large comfortable bed, lovely breakfast
To much clutter in the rooms, dreary colour schemes especially in the lounge. Very old fashioned

Our room was exceptionally nice. The breakfast was wonderful and the staff amazing. We enjoyed our stay very much and wish we could’ve stayed longer. We will definitely stay here again if we get the chance to go back to that area.

A little dated with furniture and ensuite , but it is an old house. So really to be expected.

Great breakfast, lovely friendly host and a good location.
Room was small and not user friendly. Had to scrabble around under the bed to find somewhere to charge my iPhone.

Our room was very spacious and the bed was enormous and very comfortable. The breakfast was amazing. Even home made marmalade. The best breakfast we had in a long time everything cooked to demand and beautifully presented.
Perhaps the decor wasn’t to my personal liking.

Loved the building and it was full of character, the owners are absolutely lovely. Amazing breakfast and served earlier for us as we had to leave and the owners were so accommodating.

Cool the room at all, but there was a fan in the wardrobe so I survived!

A few mins drive from Glastonbury. The building is so old with such character. Inside we were warmly welcomed to a beautifully decorated old Manor house. Our room was all colour co-ordinated. delicate gold flower pattern on our wallpaper which matched the gold inside the lampshades. The rug had a beautiful medieval design of a hunter on horseback hunting an antelope, which matched the intricate patterned bed spread with bits of re wine colour ehich in turn matched the maroon and gold cushions.
The beds were very comfortable with bright white sheets and the bathroom had fluffy bright white towels. The bathroom was modern looking, pristine, (no mould anywhere) with a good pressure shower and great flushing toilet (our last accommodation in a different City took many attempts to flush the loo!)
The Manor house gave Complimentary shower caps, flannels, soap etc.
The whole room was prestine. It is a quiet area. You should sleep well.
Parking was secure and easy on site, just a few footsteps away to the main Manor house door.
Full English breakfast was cooked to perfection. My child enjoyed his Salmon and egg too.
During breakfast they kindly allowed me to use their charger for my phone handset before I started my journey as I couldn't find what bag I'd packed mine in.
It was a delightful stay.
We explored Wells Cathedral and Cheddar Gorge during our brief stay.
I highly recommend it.
That my schedule didn't permit me to stay longer to explore more.

Comply bed, quiet location, and a yummy breakfast.
As time has ticked on, the place is a bit tired. The room needed to be cleaned better. There was hair in the bathroom, biscuit crumbs in the chair under the tea station. The skirting needed dusting. Carpet needed more work.

The price
Its not a hotel. It looks like a run down house of someone's who has added an extension made of wood amd decorated it as a hotel. There is no water in the room and the walls and floor are paper thin you can hear everything and there was only one person walking past. Sorry to say but it looked like a house of horrors.

This is an authentic Glastonbury hotel, an old Victorian building with lots of character. Our room even had a lovely balcony! We had a good night's sleep with an exceptional breakfast, porridge was amazing! Graham and Sue where lovely hosts! If you are looking for a modern boutique hotel then Meare Manor may not be for you however I myself love a modern boutique hotel but I would definitely stay at Meare Manor again and recommend the whole experience of it. Many thanks!
If I had to be critical we had a very small bed, very snuggly!! We dud have a lovely balcony though so one off sets the other.

Breakfasts were very good. The location was peaceful, lots of free parking and quiet at night. Graham and Sue are lovely, welcoming and also happy to leave you to do your own thing. The bed was very comfy and I liked having a proper room key!
During my last nights stay I was kept awake by the creaking floorboards in the room next door. The shower wasn't powerful, however did the job.

Graham was exceptionally friendly and attentive. The building was lovely and we had a comfortable spacious room. Our dog was accommodated for brilliantly and we felt very welcome
Can’t complain for the price at all.
