The staff are extremely friendly and go above and beyond for you I found it to be a very homely and comfortable. This is the second time I’ve stayed there now and will continue to use it whenever I am visiting Somerset

Great first visit

We had a great first visit to the Malt Shovel. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The food was superb and catered well for my son's dietary requirements. Great to have darts and a pool table too and be dog friendly. We will be back!

Great Value Inn

The food was exceptionally good. Plentiful, good value and quick. Easy parking. Self contained unit. Nice quiet location. Exceptional value for money.

Lack of bedside table and toilet paper running out in the morning. I had to ask another guest for toilet paper as the Inn was locked. Minimal storage for the wash kit etc.

A great place to stay over for our long onward journey.

Lovely welcoming pub, really good food. Standard food menu but absolutely excellent preparation and presentation of the food. Also reasonable price for the food and drink. Accommodation was comfortable and roomy. For us it was a really great place to stop for our onward travel the next day. A great find.

Everything was fine only only improvement would be the place mats on the dining tables need to be solid rather than the ones being used. Some of the tables were sticky because of the place mats.

Lovely stay

We loved the area , nice and quiet. Great stop for our journey to Cornwall. With having a furry friend with us it was great the rooms having their own entrance from outside. Good food, and lovely people running it.

Really friendly staff, nice room, just what we needed as a stopover. It was nice that it was in a quieter area just out of town. Great food in the pub. I'd definitely stay there again.

Enjoyable stay

The Bed, the chalet, friendly staff. Good location. Ample parking!

Breakfast was a disappointment. Not enough choice for cooked food if you didn’t want a full English breakfast. Scrambled egg on toast was very frugal- looked like one egg! Perhaps we should have had more of a choice. Not great value.

A lovely country pub on the outskirts of Bridgwater, the food is excellent quality and the staff are really helpful and friendly. Lots of on site parking. The rooms are large and well appointed.

Breakfast and dinner were both superb. Good size room which was extremely quiet as we couldn't hear the very busy A39.

Couldn't get the TV to work, we were informed that reception in the area is appalling. Just a minor problem, the odd sighting of the wall plugs to boil the kettle. also need another bed side table. Otherwise, a great place to stay and lovely friendly accommodating people.

Very tired looking property for the money

Breakfast was good and we paid a little extra for a lift to our venue and back.

Needs an update, our room smelled a bit like dog when we went in. Very dark and bad paint job on the walls. Lots of spiders in the room. Bathroom floor was a bit dirty at the sides. Just generally tired and needs a fresh coat of paint and brightening up.

The toilet flush worked but the push button was broken. We tried to get a taxis for our evening with friends, The hotel is on a narrow country lane, even if we could walk the distance to the village it would be dangerous. we accept we shuold have booked a taxis before we arrived, but this was a little disappointing.

Bed comfortable, food was nice. Water pressure good. Pub inside had atmosphere, it was fairly busy when we were there. Price of accomodation for the standard was right.
