Location and friendly staff
It was difficult to locate and the parking was also difficult. The room didn't have a fridge

Staff were excellent. Bed excellent. Good WiFi. Bathroom and loo a tad cramped, I'm a big bloke... Toiletries, sort of. Handwash (excellent handwash) in a dipenser on the wall. great if you take shower, out of reach if you take a bath! No shampoo. Breakfast very good, but all cold. Don't expect bacon and eggs. Selection of fruit juices, breads (including good croisants), cereals, fruit, cold meats and cheeses. Good coffee. Selection of teas.
Parking was an adventure. The lockup garage just opposite the hotel has a VERY narrow entrance. I could not have got in without the help, and patience, of the receptionist, Tania. We got there in the end. It was a bit hairy, TBH. If you can park out of town and get to the hotel on foot, you may find that that less stressful!
Large choice of restaurants in the immediate vicinity.
I'd happily stay there again.
Shampoo and the option of a cooked breakfast.
And town re-devolopment making the streets wider... :)

Lovely cellar room for continental breakfast. Plenty of choice. Bedroom very comfortable. We paid to park our car (A Duster vehicle)in the garage, tight squeeze to get through garage door. We had a lovely stay. 😄
As above. Just the garage door was a tight squeeze, would not be suitable for a wider car than our Duster.

None on this occasion as had to depart quite early. I tend to try on my next visit early 2026

Really Great location within the wall
No Staff for long parts of the day

Good location in the old town of St Malo. Great for exploring the area.
The shower in the room needed to be fixed or replaced as it doesn't stay facing forward. The water pressure makes it turn towards the shower door which then puts water all over the floor! You have to hold it whilst showering to prevent a flood.

The staff were very friendly and helpful particularly Vincent who is very knowledgeable about the area & helpful.
The parking is tricky!

Hotel location is excellent. Close to the entrance and the car parks outside made it a good starting point to explore the rest of the area. Hotel was a nice place, quaint with an old world charm to it which we liked. We didn't have breakfast at the hotel, we chose to find other places which saved us around 3.5euros each per day. Decor is good, its clean, tidy and welcoming, has a lift that you can use or use the tight original stairs f you need to. Overall its a good hotel to use.
2 things really to be aware of. Parking outside, the spaces can be hard to find in August as its so busy so best to try and use the Hotels facilities if you can, and the need to be aware that due to the area being in a historical but built up location, any noise from the street below travels, so at times with the windows open we could hear people below. But apart from fitting A/C I'm not sure what could be done.
Apart from that there was little to dislike about the Hotel Elizabeth and its staff. We'd not hesitate to return.

Location was excellent!! Unfortunately due to an early start & time limitations, we were unable to enjoy a meal at the Hotel. Accommodation was very clean and simple. We would happily return here for a future visit.
Ideally it would be better if there was a hand sink in the separate toilet. However due to the shape/age of the building we understand why this could prove difficult to install.

Great location. the staff were lovely. As a centrally located hotel, it’s wonderfully convenient for exploring the area. That said, it’s worth noting that the outside noise can be noticeable at night. This was to be expected for any hotel inside the city walls, so light sleepers might want to come prepared with their earplugs!
While my overall stay was pleasant, I did notice that the stair carpet could benefit from some attention. It appeared quite worn, which detracted slightly from the overall impression of the hotel. A refresh here would really elevate the guest experience and match the standards seen elsewhere in the property.

Breakfast was fine but no communication with any staff
Threadbare towels.
A notice on the bed asking one not to put suitcases on the bed but the room was so tiny there was nowhere else to put them.
No staff anywhere at checkout.

Nothing. Got put in an outhouse. No staff. Awful room. No air con no sound proofing, no sink in separate w.c, mix shower unit in bath.
Nothing at all. Felt misled. Squalid and undermaintained

Very dated and shabby. Very expensive for a very budget type hotel- a cross between a travel lodge and a caravan! We have just travelled through Spain and France and this was the most expensive hotel but the worst. The worst thing was the noise outside!!! There is a nightclub opposite which is open until 5 am Friday and Saturday- extremely noisy groups singing and shouting right outside the hotel until 05.30 am ! Completely spoiled our weekend due to no sleep for 3 nights. Very warm room with no AC but unable to open windows due to the constant clubbers gathering outside

Great location in the walled town. Very historic building, respectfully renovated. Reasonable price when compared to other hotels within the walls.
The room was hot so we used the fan provided. This meant we left the window open which let the noise in at night - loud groups out partying and bins being moved early. Would be very uncomfortable if any warmer (was around 20 degrees)

Staff was great. We had an issue with the bill and it was resolved by Lurance easily. Location is fantastic
No AC during a heat wave made sleeping a bit difficult.

Very helpful lady on reception when we arrived. We stayed in the annex which was comfortable and although a small room it was clean and still good value for money. The location was great!
We were a bit worried about parking outside the city wall, but it was reasonable, safe and very close to the hotel.

It was perfect for a one night stop, They waited till 9.30 for me to arrive - they normally ask you arrive by 8. I was a quick walk to the ferry terminal the next morning.
I dont like most european hotels where the toilet is separate from the main shower room as there is no sink to wash your hands In after you use the loo. Not their fault, just the way most of these old converted hotels are designed.

Convenient location and because we had the triple room in the Skipper building as a couple, that was spacious. Clean and correct.
Check in was very slow with reception having multiple pieces of paper to get through and rather than checking us in whilst the guest before us was accompanied to the adjacent building and taking us all across, the receptionist insisted we wait whilst she took a guest across and then went through the same rigmarole again with us. Could be more efficient given that guests walk with luggage already to get into the walls.

Staff was very friendly and accommodating. Breakfast was wonderful. Location was convenient for walking to cafes and shops.
Street level room was a little loud. Streetlight above the window was bright at night.

Friendly staff, room on the small side even though it was a three bedroom room but good for us as only two people! Good it has a lift. Nice restaurants nearby. St.Malo is ideal for a few days holiday.
? 🧐 ? 👍🏻😎. Difficult to say, but as a person with bad knees there are a lot of steps to climb around the city & I did struggle with that aspect of our trip. Once I got to the top of the ramparts the views are great, so worth the effort.

Great location, nice clean rooms :)

Location was great, advertised as having on site parking which was one of the main reasons for choosing but later learned this not to be the case, however there is NO parking within the walls, so had to pay overnight parking at 33 euros, 15 minute walk away, which ultimately was ok? We were actually booked in the Skipper Building a very sort walk from the hotel, which was a little disappointing and our room viewed a construction site which was covered in plastic, very noisy on a windy night! Overall, it was a one night stay to get the ferry in the morning, so was acceptable. Staff were very lovely and helpful!

St malo has a vast number of exciting restaurants and many of them are within 300 m of this hotel. Fantastic old buildings around.
The hotel is so central. Just stroll out and back.
Small and intimate place
Very friendly staff

It was very noisy overnight in the local streets close to the hotel.

Helpfulness of staff, location within Intra-muros, general atmosphere of the facilities
It was cold so a little heating in the evening and early morning would have been nice
