Beautiful dog friendly hotel & brill food & drinks

Lovely warm friendly feel to the pub & hotel rooms. Staff were brilliant. Food all delicious and very good value. Beer well looked after & great quality. Super dog friendly.

Room was small. Once the two dog beds were in no room at all. No where to hang up wet coat to dry after my walk so it had to drip on towel rail. I always wish doggie friendly hotels would offer doggie towels & a Wash bin to pop them in. I keep mine in car boot but it stinks the next day. It’d be a brill addition to have a shake zone at back door - dry off towels into a big wash bin before you come in!

Wonderful!

Lovely situation in beautiful village, we were visiting friends and meeting elsewhere but I was very tempted to stay for the evening when we arrived!

Nothing really, drainage of sink a bit slow but I forgot to mention to staff. I’ve no doubt they would have sorted it based on their helpfulness otherwise. Stairs are quite steep.

The Millstone, Mellor

The Millstone, Mellor is a lovely place to stay. The staff are welcoming and there is a real homely feeling to it. They serve good food at a very reasonable price in the pub. At the time of our visit, it was well decked out for Halloween which we loved! We had breakfast included within our stay. It was cooked fresh to order as well as having a selection of cereal & toast available. When checking in, we were able to pick our preferred time to come in for breakfast. Our room was located in The Courtyard.The building was clean and the hallway smelt divine! There were tea & coffee facilities and the homemade shortbread was a delicious touch! Our visit was for a family wedding at Stanley House and The Millstone is located perfectly for guests attending weddings here but not staying at the venue as it's only a 4 minute drive away.

It's hard to pick something negative about The Millstone but the only thing I did notice was the bathroom struggles with condensation so after a shower the walls were very wet and it takes a while for it to dry out.

Very popular pub with the locals. Very warm and welcoming. Staff were lovely when we had a small complaint and went out their way to solve the situation. Didn’t eat on the evening, but the breakfast was really tasty.

Comfortable and well-fitted.

Staff are friendly and helpful, room is well appointed. Water in the room when we arrived (important tick!). Shower is pretty powerful and plenty of hot water. The breakfast is excellent, perfect poached eggs and good coffee. Dinner in the pub was also very good.

Room is a little bit small but not a major issue as we only slept there. A little pricey for the size/location but the quality is as I would expect.

Lovely welcome, pretty village location, bright clean room with well equipped bathroom and luxury toiletries. Bed was very comfortable. Shower was hot. Towels were fluffy. Breakfast was plentiful and tasty.

Lovely place to stay

The hotel upgraded us upon arrival to a suite. Nice and roomy, comfortable and clean. Fresh water and tea and coffee making facility in the room. Staff very friendly. We had dinner there and cooked breakfast the following morning, and the food was excellent.

A wonderful stay & dinner

The Millstone is situated in a pretty village & is very picturesque. The food is amazing! We were a party of 8 to celebrate my 60th birthday, & somehow the chef managed to get all our food out together & all piping hot. Including a GF & dairy free meal. The staff as well were all very friendly & professional. The breakfast the next day was made to order, which again was beautiful. They also made our family dog feel very welcome, bring him meat at dinner & sausage at breakfast. What a treat!

Not much, although being on the second floor the stairs were a bit steep, but as it’s an old building there’s not much that can be done to rectify that.

The perfect romantic getaway

When we arrived there was a space in the free carpark. We were greeted by a friendly member of staff who gave us our room key and told us all the necessary information. The room was spacious and cozy, beautifully decorated, with a walk in shower in the bathroom. We had booked in for an evening meal which was delicious. The restaurant and pub parts had a welcoming atmosphere. We took a walk through the quiet village and then went to bed. We had breakfast included in our stay, which was so tasty, and very well presented. Plenty of options. A fabulous stay, would definitely come again. Xx
