Ideal Cardiff Hotel

Really helpful friendly staff.Smooth check in and out.Due to arriving early they kindly stored our bags.

As a female travelling alone I wasn’t made aware that my room was a conjoining room - although the door was locked between there was a lot of noise from the next room, and it did give me a sleepless night being a bit on edge about the middle door. Otherwise no complaints at all, would definetly stay again.

Just about passable. Clean, warm and reasonably comfortable, and that just about sums it up.

Surly staff. No welcome, just a demand for parking fee and money to cover our dog. Limited parking anyway (at £10/night) and nothing offered for the dog - not even a bowl of water; £15 a night for that! Adding an unexpected £100 to our 4-night bill. The dismal view from the room across a former dock is of the back of a steelworks. The hotel isn't close to Cardiff centre or the attractions of Cardiff Bay and not on a bus route. A small dinner menu, mainly of the burger kind, and a limited choice for breakfast (horrible hotel mashed eggs and overcooked bacon) and incessant loud 'muzak' to make conversation difficult. Not the best hotel I've stayed at, not even the best Holiday Inn!

Staff was polite and helpful

Breakfast was terrible, even there was no proper yogurt for oats in the morning, same menu with hashbrowns, bacon, sausage, beans. So for a vegetarian eat hash browns and thats it. Doesnt make sense to pay 15 euros per day for that. The room wasnt cleaned daily, even when it was cleaned the tea cups werent replaced, nor was the milk cups. Location was terrible as you need to walk through shady roads to get to the hotel. I will never book hotel with breakfasts in europe.

A very pleasant stay in a very good location.

The staff were friendly and welcoming, even though we were only there for one night they made us feel like welcome guests. The bar was well stocked for a small location and when there was a problem with the vending machine the staff were very quick to rectify it. Breakfast was continually replenished to keep all guests fed, and the quality of breakfast was very decent indeed. Car park had plenty of spaces, and good size spaces too, no struggles getting in and out of the car like some places.

I did not find any real faults with the stay, unless you want to criticize the fact that the exit barrier to the car park was stuck open.

Good convenient location for gig at Utlita Arena

Check in was very smooth and we were greeted by a lovely lady on reception, our room was ready even though we were early so that was good. Room was clean and tidy (altho a tad chilly but we sorted the heating). Location was good for the city centre, we were attending a gig at Utlita Arena. Parking was no problem, loads of space. Easy to get an uber from the hotel (weather was very wet so we didn't walk in).

The tea/coffee in the room was not very nice, maybe it was the water or the kettle. Breakfast I found was over cooked so didn't enjoy it so much. The coffee was lovely tho.

Overnight stay

Room was clean, breakfast was lovely, shower gel and shampoo had been supplied. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Location was perfect for a walk into the city for a shopping trip.

Delightful Overnight in Cardiff

It was very good. Lovely room exactly as requested . Good beds , good shower room. Nice heater as the cold spell and much needed. So all nice and cosy. The evening meal was very good value and delicious. Breakfast very good too. Staff all very helpful; and friendly . We were taking my granddaughter back to university and it was a little distance from her accommodation but easily driveable and found exactly on the Satnav. Splendid

Everything was good, the staff & the hotel. The rooms are basic but perfectly adequate, clean & tidy. No complaints about the breakfast and the bar was comfortable & not too expensive.

If anything maybe slightly warmer. The general hotel felt cool, not uncomfortably so, but definitely cooler for the time of year.

Really helpful, kind and friendly staff both on reception, rooms and breakfast. Quality of the breakfast food was outstanding. Great views and basic tea and coffee making in the rooms, but no biscuits! Nice bar and pleasant seating area.

The bar area was used for breakfast. This is really unsuitable with high stools, sofas and a severe shortage of spaces making it a bad experience and a bit of a bun fight. Much more seating needed here and more suitable tables. No real provisions for solo diners. Coffee wasn't great and machines frequently out of order. My room was ice cold on return and the heater was broken but staff kindly brought me a portable heater. The TV hadn't been returned recently so many channel numbers were wrong or not working at all. The shower was a walk in but the curtain just wasn't nice.

Budget friendly hotel with great staff but mediocre facilities

Friendly and extremely helpful staff. The staff made sure our check-in was smooth and easy. Also helped us out with a lot of information as it was our first time in Cardiff. On a different occasion, the staff helped us sort issues we had with food delivery to the hotel. Comfortable beds. Rooms were quite warm and the heater was functional that helped us get through extremely cold wintery days in Cardiff.

Limited and mediocre breakfast options. The room hadn't been properly cleaned when we checked in. Few of the things in the room were broken/non-functional (one of the bedside lights, the sink tap, the toilet paper holder, the TV remote). The slow elevator was probably the worst part of the stay. There's only one elevator in the entire hotel so it was always being used which forced us to have to climb 3 flights of stairs many times (quite tedious with luggage).

Solid budget hotel for gigs at the depot

Breakfast could have been better Fire alarm went off at 715 (not their fault to be fair) The floor in the shower was quite slippery with no grip underfoot (usually there's some sort of grip tape or something to prevent slipping in hotel showers) - fine for me but if I were less mobile I would probably have had a trip to a&e

The only criticism we had was there were tables with left glasses and plates on. The lounge bar area was quiet yet none of the staff came to clear them. They walked passed the tables numerous times yet no interest. We also ordered a pizza and after 25 minutes we went to order another drink and reminded the lady, who apologised and said she would don't then. Another 20 minutes still no pizza so we approached a different member of staff who checked, the order hadn't been out through on either occasion, disappointing. He quickly resolved this and refunded us.

Rugby stopover

Staff were helpful and friendly. Location is a 20 minute walk to the City Centre and 25 minute walk to the Principality Stadium so a good location.

There was a £10 per night charge for the carpark which I wasn't aware of when booking. Parking appears to be free when you book.
