Staybridge Suites - Cardiff by IHG

The location was great. Walking distance to Mermaid Quay. The staff were excellent. They helped with numerous difficulties to do with getting around, and were consistently friendly, helpful, and informative.

The room did not have adequate storage space. My expectation was that an extended stay hotel would be would provide a semi-permanent setup. The restaurant and bar were barely passable. The walk to Cardiff City Centre was a bit of a haul. That was a trade-off I was aware of when I booked the hotel.

The rooms were superb and free of noise apart from the fridge which we turned off to get to sleep. The breakfast hot food was limited to toast, scrambled eggs and beans. I did like the hot and cold drink availability and the other foods on offer.

The capacity of tables and chairs for breakfast meant that it spilled over onto any surface you could perch on.

I had another great stay here. I love the comfy beds!!

Staff at the property is amazingly great, the best I have come across. Very professional yet very attentive to guest needs. And trying their best to help the guest.

Calling the place a "suite" is a sham. The minute sofa bed is opened there is no living room left. Bed room has bed only and hardly walking / standing space. Closet was so small that I had to live from my suitcase for the entire stay. Hotel flatly declined providing shower cap and room slippers - something "IHG" as a brand doesn't believe in providing. 5 out of 6 days exactly same breakfast was served. Every time someone took a shower the bathroom would flood since glass partition hinges are right next to the shower head.
