The hotel is in a fabulous location. Room was very well decorated and felt fresh and new. Bed was incredibly comfortable! Aircon was good and pretty quiet All Staff were lovely

For a superior room, the view was a bit naff. Just a back alley. Bathroom gets VERY cold TV not a smart tv so no streaming option. For superior room, I think a Bath would have been a nice addition, But the walk in shower was great

In short, it was absolutely nothing to do with them or in their control but got woke up way earlier than I wanted to be by a building alarm across the street, they even called the people to sort it!

A great stay.

It was my first stay here, and it’s absolutely beautiful and so well located in the centre of Cardiff. Staff on reception were really helpful when needed and did everything possible to make the stay good.

On arrival, my room wasn’t at all clean. Hair in shower & bathroom, and un-hoovered floor with stains on carpet. For a highly rated hotel, I was really disappointed about this … however the team on reception made it right without hesitation.

Superb dining and service at The Sorting Room; hotel room lacked dressing table.

We had the pleasure of dining at The Sorting Room, and it was nothing short of superb. From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere struck the perfect balance between stylish and welcoming — but it was the food that truly stole the show. Every dish was beautifully presented and packed with flavour, clearly crafted with care and attention to detail. It’s rare to find a menu where each course feels like a highlight, but this was one of those occasions. Equally impressive was the service. Our waitress was absolutely fantastic — warm, attentive, and genuinely invested in making our evening special. She struck that ideal balance of professionalism and friendliness.

While our overall experience at the hotel was very pleasant, our stay in room 519 fell short of expectations in a couple of areas. The view from the room was quite underwhelming, which was disappointing given that I’d noted in the booking that this visit was for a special occasion. I appreciate that room views can’t always be guaranteed, but knowing that other Deluxe King rooms offer more scenic outlooks, I had hoped for something a little more memorable. A small but notable detail: the room lacked a dressing table, which made getting ready a bit awkward. My partner had no suitable place to sit and apply her makeup comfortably, and ended up having to sit on the floor. It’s the first time we’ve encountered this in a hotel of this standard, and it’s something that could be easily addressed to improve the guest experience.

Great location, lovely room but poor food experience

location was perfect. Cocktails were nice but very expensive so we only had 1 each.

Breakfast was a poor experience. I never received the tea I ordered and the coffee machine was out of order for a lot of the time we were waiting. Hot Food was cold And inedible. Many people around us were complaining of the same issue.

A beautiful, stylish hotel with a lovely ambience throughout. The staff were helpful and friendly from checking in at reception through to leaving our room where Rose, a lovely lady from housekeeping, was keen to know if we enjoyed our stay and asked if we would stay here again, she wished my friend, also Rose, a happy birthday and hoped we had a safe journey home. This was a really personal touch and we will definitely be back!

We were expecting twin beds but had a double. Breakfast was a little disappointing for the prices charged. No choice of nice bread or rolls, just sliced white or brown loaf. Some components of the cooked option were lukewarm and the mushrooms were tinned. Most disappointing, especially for a Welsh hotel was the fact that they, sadly, ran out of Welsh cakes with more than an hour to go
