Rare Find Exquisitely New Quiet & Safe Skytrain Home

It's a quite comfortable and very clean apartment not far from the Skytrain. There's an easy parking right outside and it is very well equipped. Contact is fast and easy, WiFi working, and the pricing is fair.

The light could be brighter.

The location of the property is very good, it's proximity to Nanaimo station makes it very convenient for downtown Vancouver trips. Additionally, the host provided all the items that're required for a comfortable and homely stay..

We could hear the noise from the neighbors upstairs in the middle of the night. Additionally we felt that the unit has a very limited number of sockets...

It was a cool location, a place really highlighting Vancouver’s diverse population. A good little grocery store was around the corner. Also, you can’t go wrong being to close to the train. It was nice to have laundry in the unit, although there was a note about times to run it (fair enough) and a note about listening for the next door neighbor’s laundry and avoiding doing your own at the same time. Bed was super comfy and the bathroom was nice.

The photos showed a full kitchen, but the unit I was in only had a hot plate, a microwave, and a sign above the hot plate that said, “No Frying Pls”. I had planned to buy groceries and cook a lot while there, so this was an issue. Anyone who cooks a lot needs more than one heating unit to pull off a lunch or dinner. There were also lots of hand-written notes about not plugging too many things in at once that made me think there might be electrical issues. I am really not trying to dump on the owners. I had a good time there, but these were my observations.

Perfect location. Close to Skytrain. Quiet and nice neighborhood. Apartment was nice and had everything you’d except (and need).

You can hear everything that is going on in the house. It wasn’t even loud, but toilet flushes, steps … you hear everything, unfortunately.

Quiet, secure and felt like home very quickly. Very short walk to bus or a bit longer to the Skytrain.

Thin walls where you could hear others. Do not let this deter you, it was just occasional, not frequent.

There was a while for me to find out texting was the fastest way to get an answer. But the property recommended phoning and emailing.

Great location near Nanaimo Station and a beautiful lake down the road. It had all necessary appliances to stay comfortably. The hosts always responded quickly and communication was easy. Before our arrival they explained everything clearly. The space was also great for two people, and the bathroom had heated floor as well!

The matress was a bit hard for my personal liking, and it would be a nice improvement to make the unit sound proof.

Place had tile floors, washer dryer, microwave, refrigerator and was neat.

Our booking confirmation stated air-conditioning and when we arrived, we were told no air-conditioning. We got a sorry from the owner and 80 degrees plus hot weather and two fans which didn't help much. Booking .com 's customer service was awful and did not get back to us for 26 hours. WE had one bath towel upon arrival and had to call get more. There was one electric stove top and no frying and could not run microwave with other appliances. There were 15-16 instructions pasted on the walls. Laundry instructions: Laundry only between 6-14.00 hours or you will 'BURN THE ELECTRICITY" . Not sure what that means. Also make sure the adjacent apartment is not running the dryer before you start yours. SO had to listen by the wall to make sure the dryer was not running before you started yours. Instructions on how long to leave the exhaust fan in the bathroom etc. There are no restaurants close by. Expect to walk 2 blocks or more to find two mediocre Italian places. One run down grocery store that is a block away. It was hard to use public transport as the station was far. But the most disappointing thing was being tricked into believing that there was air-conditioning by Booking.com and the owner. Bed is uncomfortable. We had washing detergent for two loads of laundry and bleach for one load. The smoke detector was wrapped in saran wrap, see picture. Wire dangling from vent hood in kitchenette. If I had known there was no air-conditioning, then I would have found a different place to stay at the same rates. IN RESPONSE TO THE PROPERTY RESPONSE, THE ORIGINAL RESRVATION CONFIRMATION HHAS BEEN FORWARDED TO BOOKING.COM AND THEY TRIED TO RESOLVE THE MATTER AND THIS WILL BE RESOLVED EVENTUALLY. I CANNOT ATTACH THE RESERVATION CONFIRMATION ON THIS REVIEW AS IT HAS MY PERSONAL DETAILS. I PRETTY MUCH STICK TO FACTS IN MY REVIEWS AND THIS IS MAINLY TO HELP FUTURE TRAVELERS TO BE AWARE OF THE LIMITATIONS OF A PROPERTY. WRITING A BAD REVIEW IS NEVER THE INTENTION.

- Bed and pillows - Washing machine - Fan -Smart TV -Shower

- Too many instructions on the walls telling you what you ought to do (therefore doesn't make you feel too relaxed) - There wasn't any information regarding tourist attractions or restaurants which they recommend in the neighbourhood - Lack of decoration (plain, which made you feel like you were in a hotel)

Close to bus station and Skytrain by walk distance. Quiet place.

A bit hot in the summer because on 2nd floor but the owner changed the air conditioner to a new one and it fixed the problem. Because the size of the appartment, may be two AC units will be required. Radiant floor in main bathroom always ON so it add heat while we want to reduce it. May be shut down the breaker of the floor heathing during summer months. This is opportunity for improvement - we are very happy of our stay and we would return to same place again :-)

I love the modern style and it feel very welcoming. Gas range, lots cupboard and space. The kids had a real good time there out in the patio and play.

We not have any breakfast. Location was ok.

The very strong smell of cat urine, near the front gate entry, was despicable and detracted from getting to our room. For the price, it would have been nice to have better drinking cups/glasses instead of the very worn plastic drinking glasses used for advertising.

property is exactly as pictured. bed is very comfortable. location is good.

a bit of a reminder: the host’s family lives upstairs so the kid’s noise is inevitable.

Very good location, very close to train that brings you to centre in 10min. Neighbourhood feels very safe. Everything is very well equipped and comfortable

was quite noisy in the evening and mornings in the bedroom (where the wall is shared with other neighbours), so was quite impossible to fall asleep until people on the other side will finish dinner. but apart of it is quite good!

Convenient location. Clean and renovated facility

Confusion about garbage and recycling rules but host was responsive to our questions

Newer suite with heated floors and comfortable beds. Kitchen fairly well equipped. Laundry facilities were useful. Street parking.

No living room, tiny foam couch that didn't pull out for adult sleeping. Not spotless, could use deep clean. Door handles fall off bedroom and gate. Walking around to back of house dark at night and difficult gravel. Silver fish spotted in bathroom. Can hear family upstairs. Old bathroom towels.

Everything’s perfect except for the sound proof isn’t that well. But I sleep early and get up early so that’s fine for me.

Great location near the Skytrain with adequate private space. Owner was responsive to any issues that arose. Strong WI-FI. Good value overall!

Please consider letting people know more explicitly (perhaps in your welcome message) that you have to pull the door towards you while entering the lock code to avoid the door getting locked improperly. This will save headaches on both sides :)
