A 5-bed wonderful apartment in the historic poet and artistic residential district of Paris
I was lucky to have a 5-bed apartment for one person with all the facilities one needs for a short stay. The poor entrance did not match the well laid out and furnished interior. Despite all the issues below the various hosts involved were responsive.
Gambetta is the poet and artistic residential district of Paris and the famous Père-Lachaise Cemetery is close by. I must also mention the local (Sri Lankan) barber.
Although I rate my stay as a 10, all the issues about this booking was prior to entering the apartment; from a hefty deposit fee, to providing ID (I have been booking through booking.com for more than 10 years), awkward security, occupied room (yes the first apartment I initially entered had someone in it), a troublesome internet activated access App. (this means an App has to be downloaded on my phone - lucky I had enough storage space but also means I had to return to the apartment with enough battery charge on the phone or I'd be sleeping on the street.

Not as expected
I booked a totally different place then we ended up at. It was a different address and did not have the amenities we wanted. The Manager/0wner messaged us the day of the changes and we didn't know of these changes until we got to the location.Overall, we were very disappointed.

Location and access to public transport was OK. The hosts were very attentive. Facilities were good enough to do the job.
The security measures are a bit too much. The property need some care, many things are not working properly. The space was divided to have more rooms to rent, it is a little too tight and it was not enough soundproofed, you can hear any move from your neighbors.

We were unable to access the room. We comfirmed online that we were arriving on a late train and would get to the rental between 10:30-11. After requesting this late check in time, an email confirming that was ok was received. Upon arriving, we noticed there was very small print at the very bottom of the email indicating a different address to check into. The emails kept stating that we would receive check in information, door codes and whatnot, but we never did. A sympathetic tenant actually let us into the building, but there were no instructions as to how to get into the room. Since it was after hours, no one was on call to help. We finally left at 11:30 and walked around hoping to find somewhere to stay for the night.

Really lovely place and great area !
The apartment feels light, friendly, and bright. Félix is very warm and responsive and gave us a lot of great tips for local places to go, some of which we followed with excellent results! The area was very Parisian , very walkable and did not feel super touristy, which I enjoyed.
I highly recommend staying here.

The location was the basically the one good thing about the stay, as it's near the metro station.
1) Irresponsible host!:
Although the host clearly had our estimated arrival time (from when we made the reservations & again sent in the early morning of traveling), we arrived to an empty building the middle of the night. There was no one to let us in, and the number we received from the host, did not reply or answer calls. After an hour of trying, we discovered that the pin code of the door was incorrect.
We stayed around 2 hours in the street with 2 exhausted kids and a 1 year old baby with luggage. If it wasn't for the kind taxi driver who stayed with us & allowed us to use his van until we were able to enter the apartment (after the host replied...saying he was sleeping!!!!), we would have had to end up in the street!
It turned out the host changed our apartment from number 1 to number 3 without informing us. He then sent us a second code that did not work. Then a third that worked. All of this after 2 hours in the street waiting for the host to pick up or respond.
We understand, accidents can happen & we are a very flexible couple, but after our horror night, we met the building manager who confirmed this happens regularly with other guests.
2) Unclear extra costs after you pay your stay
3) Lack of responsiveness and support unless the issue is about us paying money
4) The apartment is actually a basement apartment that is apparently split into three: very little light in except from two windows in the back of the apartment.
5) Lack of cleanliness and real hygiene of the apartment: the apartment was tidy however, dusty floors and unwashed bed sheets. We cleaned the apartment ourselves before leaving just not to leave him a chance to ask for more money!
6) Late Checkout: We specifically requested late checkout with our reservation, and paid fully. The last day, the host informs us there is a fee of 150 Euros for late checkout. By that time, we had no choice as we could not switch to another place for only a couple of hours.

1. the location is near the subway station, so was easy to visit the city
2. a grocery store is close to the apartment
1. when we arrived at the location we found out that the owner gave us the wrong address ... a guy from that building told us that it often happens, that in that building there is no apartment provided by Booking or Airbnb. The address is 500 m further, with the entrance on another street
2. some outlets didn't work, and there have been leaks in the kitchen faucet
3. The apartment was not cleaned before we arrived, only the towels were changed

Basic appartement op goeie locatie
Cosy appartement op een heel goeie locatie. Alle faciliteiten die je nodig hebt voor enkele dagen. Basic, maar voldoende.
Toegang is lastig. Instructies om binnen te gaan werden enkele uren voor aankomst gedeeld. Dit was een document van 15 pagibas. Om binnen te geraken moest op dat moment nog een app gedownload worden. Via de app kan dan appartement geopend worden. Vrij omslachtig, en geeft stress, batterij van telefoon mag nooit leeg geraken of je kan niet meer binnen. Code van hoofdingang ontbrak in document, deze hebben we later opgevraagd, initieel door een bewoner binnengelaten. Dag 2 werd onze deur ineens door andere huurder geopend, niemand kwam binnen, maar weinig vertrouwen in systeem. Accomodatie was ok, maar reeds veel gebruiksporen, kastdeuren die niet dicht blijven, vrieslade in koelkast die met papiertje wordt dichtgehouden, ...

No me gusto nada ya que uno viene de turismo a esta ciudad y lo peor es encontrarse con personas o negocios que en veze servirte se sirvan de uno...es mi caso..me cobran x adelantado. Y cuando les escribo para que me den acceso. No atienden....responden luego de ka hora de cgeck in y dixen que no hemos cumplido con las normas....una viveza. Espero que booking lea estos comentarios y buaque una solucion y que no sea parte del problema..sino de la solución para el cliente.

J'ai loué cet appartement pour une nuit à 170 € quand même et quand je suis arrivée a l'adresse indiquée, je n'ai trouvé aucune procédure d'accès à la clé ni personne au bout du fil (un numéro non attribué et un numéro directement sur répondeur non personnalisé). les échanges par messages sur Booking ne se font qu'en anglais et n'ont aucun sens. il n'y est question que de caution, de papier d'identité et de charges (fees) en tout genre. je n'ai finalement pas pu accéder à cet appartement et lorsque j'ai appelé le service client de booking, on m'a indiqué que ce n'était pas remboursable sans plus d'explications. je ne suis donc pas en mesure de noter cet appartement pour son confort, mais pour son inaccessibilité j'estime que c'est une arnaque.

L'appartement était exactement comme sur les photos, spacieux et très bien situé. Tout était propre et bien entretenu, avec des équipements de qualité qui ont rendu notre séjour super confortable.
L'hôte a été extrêmement réactif et disponible.
La communication était fluide et chaleureuse. Je recommande vivement ce logement à quiconque cherche à passer un bon moment dans cette ville.

Excellent emplacement en plein centre de Paris en face du métro
C'est un magnifique appartement parisien dans un excellent emplacement dans le centre de Paris. De nombreux monuments locaux sont accessibles à pied et il était facile de s'y rendre depuis l'aéroport avec des bagages en remorque. Je n'hésiterais pas à séjourner à nouveau ici ou à le recommander à des amis, cela reflète un excellent rapport qualité/prix. Nous avons reçu une excellente communication dès le moment où nous avons réservé. L’arrivée s’est très bien passée. L'appartement était magnifiquement fini et meublé et malgré le fait d'être au centre de Paris, il était calme et se sentait en sécurité. Les lits étaient très confortables, nous avons dormi comme des bébés.
