Lovely house, rambling old farmhouse vibe with lots of space for entertaining and gathering. Many beds and bedrooms. We had a celebration event, and the caterer had lots of room to prep and we had lots of room to serve and eat. The property is serene, with hills and cows and trees. It was a delight to collaborate with Quarry Hill on assembling wonderful extras for our event. Guests from 11-89 enjoyed the space immensely. Thank you!

Lovely views of the cows and mountains. Part of the house was built in the 1700's with original timbers. It is on a dirt road. Charming not modern

We are from Bennington and we’re back to visit with family and friends and show our kids where we grew up. The manager of the property made us uncomfortable, like we were being watched the whole time. We started our stay cleaning up cobwebs full of spiders from above the beds in most of the rooms and showers. The cleaners had not cleaned other than putting down clean sheets and towels. Spiders are expected in country homes but if cleaners had been there (which we paid a cleaning fee) there would not have been thick webs with so many spiders everywhere. There is not air conditioning in the house which we did not think to check in the listing. It would have been fine except we had a week of temps in the 90’s. There are several dangerous things in the house that need to be fixed. A floor vent was covered with an area rug rather than fixed into place. It was in a tripping hazard in front of the sliders to the patio…the most used doors. Exposed nails sticking out in places that could easily be fixed throughout. The fridge shelving falls off so we had an entire gallon of orange juice fall off the door, crack and spill on the floor. It’s a country property so some nature is to be expected. We did find mice in the house. Overall it’s a lovely view and beautiful country property, but could use some repairs. We enjoyed our stay and were fine overlooking all of the things we encountered. But it was ruined at the second to last day when we received a text from the manager that they were keeping our deposit because we had friends over. Because we are from town we did have people visit us to catch up. We knew there was a charge for events but were under the impression it was for planned events of 30 or more people. There was not anything listed for a cost for people coming over for lunch or stopping by. They told us they were keeping the deposit because anyone who came to the house over the number of people listed in the contract we need to pay a fee for. There is a full binder of rules and information. Some of the information does not match the VRBO listing. We followed all of the requests for where to place sheets, towels, food but they did not have garbage cans so the bags were in the garage where an animal got into them. It was mainly a lot of rules, being watched and not left alone to enjoy our stay and a cost that was too high for a property that could use better accommodations. We love Vermont and recommend a visit at another home.
