8 / 10Excellent·Oct 2026
Nice quiet clean apartment with all mod cons on tidal River Brede - a few wild fowl and seagulls. Reasonably close to town and restaurants. Visited Scotney and Bodiam Castles, Great Dixter House and Gardens and Sissinghurst. Loved historical, quirky Rye.
Although The Boathouse is reasonably close to walk into town it is in a dark industrial unit area and you do need a torch. The standard lamps in lounge didn't work, floor boards creak on stair. Bed wasn't very comfortable. Very noisy pump in bedroon wardrobe when hot water turned on in kitchen!! But this is a 3 star property.
