Curtains in front bedroom difficult to use

Beautifully presented, comfortable home. Stylish decor and furnishings. Fully equipped kitchen and modern bathrooms. Perfect location on a quiet road by the river but very short walk from centre of Rye so very convenient. Off road parking for 2 small vehicles. There were lots of little touches to make this a great place to stay - bedside charging cables for mobile phones/tablets, tissues in the bedrooms, a welcome grocery pack, umbrellas in the hall, a shoe store in the hall, and even a Christmas tree and lights to make it even more homely. The owner provided helpful information about Rye in advance of our stay and was very responsive when we needed some advice about the hot water system.

Quayside Cottage is very comfortable, clean and quiet and has been beautifully renovated to the highest standard. The owners are easy to contact, extremely helpful and provided us with a very generous welcome pack - plus a birthday card and present! The normal arrangement of rooms in Quayside Cottage is reversed with the bedrooms on the ground floor and kitchen and living room on the first floor to make the most of the view over the quayside. The kitchen, although small, is very well equipped and there is a large dining table in the living area for convivial meals. There are two bathrooms with good showers which are easy to use, which is not always the case! There is easy parking for one car on the gravelled drive and across the road too (even though it says no parking as apparently this is no longer applicable). This is a real bonus in an ancient town like Rye where parking is very limited. Dog-friendly too. The cottage is a stone's throw from all the pleasures of Rye - historical sites, wonderful achitecture, cobbled streets, extensive views and many pubs and restaurants. We barely used our car and as well as getting to know the town well, we set out on foot to Rye Harbour and Winchelsea. The only time we used the car was to get to to Dungeness and Appledore. Good bus service and an easy walk from the station too.

Nothing to complain about. The road was very rutted when we arrived but was levelled while we were there.
