Ideal walking territory, with footpaths from the doorstep, or stroll beside the Royal Military Canal, which stretches from almost Hastings to Hythe. Bring your binoculars and head towards Rye Harbour Nature Reserve, which offers five bird watching hides with easy access - hear the nightingale sing in the springtime. The comedian Spike Milligan’s headstone can be spotted in the church yard in Winchelsea, with the immortalized words ’I told you I was ill!’ Take a swim at Camber Sands or Winchelsea Beach, discover 4000-year-old fossilized forests or spot a shipwreck along the Hastings coast. Bill and Val have a beautiful, well stocked, clean property and were amazing in helping decorate it as a 50th birthday surprise. The kitchen had everything we needed including all the cooking, tea and coffee essentials. The hot tub was great, a lovely log burner with a great stock of logs and comfy beds. We had a great long weekend here and will definitely be back. Situated so close to a lovely village with pubs and a great little cafe catering for gluten and dairy free.

We’ve stayed in lots of holiday rentals and this one is probably the top of our list. Bill and Val were superb hosts - everything had been thought of and the quality of the hous, contents and equipment was fabulous.

This place is so cosy and warm and on our arrival we were Surprised to find it had been decorated for Christmas, simply beautiful is all I can say when we arrived.
It is very well equipped they've thought of everything and if you do need anything, Bill is amazing.
